Description/role:
Rendili StarDrive set about the task of creating a pleasure craft in a very special way. Rather than devising a craft centered around performance, aesthetics, or comfort they chose to avoid the compromises of other models and embrace all three of them. They crafted a ship that was capable of speed and agility, a sleek and streamlined craft, and one that didn't sacrifice comfort.
The tour of any Excelsior starts outside, on the starboard side of the ship. The primary entrance is on the second story of the ship, forward. A long staircase pulls away from the side automatically, leading up to the entryway. Once one moves through the entry, they are met by the lobby, a small room with three doors, one to the right, one to the left, and one straight ahead.
Through the right is the state of the art flight deck, with a panoramic view and seats for a pilot and a systems operator. The electronics systems are all state of the art, with advanced autopilot functions and aids to the crew.
Through the left is a luxurious lounge, with a sunken living area, plushly carpeted and furnished with a built in sectional sofa. It has full holonet connections and a top quality videoscreen. At the end of the lounge is a dining room with real wood tables and chairs, and a lighting fixture above. Through a set of double doors is a large galley equipped with everything the professional chef might need. And through another set of doors past the galley is the engineering section. It provides repair access to all the internal mechanical workings, access onto crawlspaces, and a full array of consoles for the ship engineer.
The straight door opens onto a lift. The lift in turn opens onto a long corridor running down the length of the ship. Forward is a door that opens onto the crew quarters, a set of bunks sharing access to a refresher. Along the corridor are four doors on each side, each opening onto a room, well furnished and equipped with a desk and bed. Every two rooms share the same refresher unit, equipped with a genuine bathtub.
At the aft end is a door opening onto the ship's cargo hold, which is spacious enough to hold a speeder or a pair of swoops plus all the food supplies and materials needed for smooth operations. The cargo hold itself has a loading ramp that opens out the back of the ship for easy loading and unloading.
