It’s the middle of the night and I just woke by chance to see the email I’ve enclosed below. I wouldn't normally share this but you’re the closest person I know to this situation and the only other one I know she’d completely trust. I trust you know well enough to keep her confidence. Have you seen this? What happened, aboard the Basilisk? Are the rest of you OK? Vance, please get back to me as quickly as you can if this situation is as serious as it sounds. She's alive. Sick with the Plague and floating in a kolto tank unconscious, but alive. Took a nasty jolt when she ripped out the ship's black box, plus an explosion to the head. Carried her back to the ship myself, didn't leave until I saw her vitals level out. I think the email sent out when her biometrics went dead. But she's fine. I promise. I've got Glitch sending me an update every few hours. But she's recovering, and she's fine. At least, she's as fine as she was. But I'll take that over her being, y'know, "less fine". If that makes any sense. Do yourself a favor and delete the email like I did. My version was more about the family business; no mention of that cryovault, but to be honest, I think that's for the best. Reading about my inheritance is just not something I want to consider, now or later. Not until I have to. With the Plague and the Chorus and everything else, there's not enough mental room for that line of thinking. There won't be until it's over and we're all alive, healthy, and having a debate about waffles versus pancakes again over breakfast. I'll ping you when she wakes up, assuming she doesn't beat me to the punch (she probably will). Do me a favor when she's upright again and remind her which one of us was so mad about me coming along in the first place. I'm not saying I feel vindicated, I'm saying that if she pulls something that dangerous again, I'll have my turn to chew her out. Obviously don't tell her I said that.
