Tark Kisar Art by Rudi Indra Full Name • Tark KisarNickname • Yeshaal ("Quiet one" an insult in Kaleesh) Race • Echani Birthplace • Kalee Age • 31 Gender • male Sexuality • heterosexual Faction • Fringe Concept • Rank 3 Bounty Hunter Languages • Basic, Huttese, Kaleesh. Assets • Bone Mask, Czerka Arms Outland Rifle, Shoni spear, Lig sword, R-41 Starchaser, and a pet Hook Hawk Appearance Height & Weight • 5'10" 150 lbs. Overall Looks • Beneath his rough hunting garb and traditional Kaleesh bone mask, Tark is a rather youthful looking Echani for his age. His features are soft and smooth, with self-trimmed silvery locks hanging short and loose when not confined beneath headgear. Despite his baby face however, Tark bears many scars from a lifetime spent hunting both animal and sentient prey, to the point there is scarcely a part of his form that is not adorned with signs of conflict. Even his face carries roughly healed wounds, the most prominent of which is a deep scar upon his cheek that sinks into the otherwise soft flesh of his face.Aside from darker scars, Tark's skin is overall quite pale given his heritage, yet is rarely revealed in public due to Tark's preference for wearing full body garb. Despite his Echani heritage, Tark is on the sturdier side of their usual build spectrum. Having been raised by Kaleesh, and spending most of his youth hunting prey, Tark is strong, if slender, with a deceptively tough form beneath a skinny exterior. In attire, Tark is eternally wearing a suit of well armored Kaleesh hunting garb. His head is adorned in this outfit with traditional wraps that both keep his hair out of his way, and help him remain cool in otherwise oppressively hot environments. His face is rarely exposed, hidden behind a mask of bones he sports from his first successful hunt, which he continues to wear as a form of protection, both from conversation, and limited incoming damage. His torso is wrapped similarly to his head, with durasteel plates covering select vital areas, but it is limited to that. The rest of the outfit is much the same, with limited armored plates, and wrappings to handle harsh weather draped about them. Aside from this, Tark has no formal or casual attire to speak of and is either alone and mostly unadorned, or in public and wearing this get-up. Personality Profile Tark is quiet, to a nervous degree. Having been raised by a single Kaleesh hunter for most of his childhood, Tark finds extended conversation awkward to handle, and as such prefers silence and his thoughts. When forced to speak, Tark is curt, only saying what absolutely must be said in order to achieve whatever he is trying to get across. This often leads to subtle feelings of isolation for him, as he struggles to relate or communicate with those he actually wishes to. Deep down, Tark is anxious, yet driven to his ends. He believes all he can accomplish in what little time he has, is prolong his life. He does not even truly know why he cares to do so, but continues to obey his benefactor and hunt those he has to for this end. All in all, Tark is humorless, literal, and uncomfortable around people, in spite of desperately wanting to not be. Background Father • Hashin Kisar, deceased Mother • Naomi Kisar, deceased Other Important Connections • Paj Al'Arin (adoptive father), 53, Kaleesh Hunter. Shey Al'Arin (adoptive mother), Kaleesh Nanny (deceased). Overall History • Tark was born as part of the small minority on his home planet of Kalee, that was not of the native species of Kaleesh that dominated it. His Echani parents were traders whom had made their living organizing shipments of goods to be delivered and sold to the largely warlike locals. It was a profitable business, but being the undeveloped planet that it was, left the pair far from proper medical care they would come to need. After the birth of their first and only child, Tark, the mother, Naomi, began to fall victim to an illness the locals had no way of treating. Overtime, the illness, which would come to be known as an Echani form of kidney failure, took her life, leaving the infant Tark solely in the care of his father, whom was more occupied with the trade business to give proper care to Tark. To remedy this, Tark's father, Hashin, would give the boy during the day to a form of Kaleesh nanny by the name of Shey. Despite their difference in appearance, Shey began to care for the young Echani boy, seeing as he had no mother to care for him, and a work stressed father who could do little more than provide financially for the boy. In time Shey made it clear to her husband, Paj, that she considered Tark to be a kind of child to her, so when tragedy struck, this idle statement was set in stone. Kalee, being the warlike planet that it was, was often plagued by bouts of conflict between the various Kaleesh tribes that called it home, and eventually one of those conflicts struck home for the remaining Kisar pair. When a rival tribe grew frustrated over the apparent favoring of the traders to their Lig hosts, war broke out. In a surprise raid on the trading post, Tark's father was present doing what he always did, and quickly fell to blades and slugthrowers, while Tark rested quietly in his nanny's home. Yet the feud did not halt at the burning of the trade post, and soon spilled over into the neighboring Lig tribe. The fighting was brutal and close quarters, but in the end the assault was repulsed, albeit with severe losses on both sides, one of which being Tark's nanny Naomi. Now left with only one caregiver, Tark was raised by his adoptive father, the Kaleesh Paj, for the rest of his youth. This was not without tension however, as Paj blamed the traders for the conflict, and in subtle ways let this resentment spill over to the young Tark. While Paj fulfilled his parental requirements on paper, feeding and training the boy in the traditional Kaleesh way, Paj spent no time really talking with the boy. Being the obvious outsider that he was, Tark found himself ostracized by the other kids in the tribe, and as such felt quite different from them his entire upbringing. He never related to their ancestor based religion, nor did he particularly enjoy the constant fighting with neighboring tribes like those of his age group. Yet, for most of his youth, Tark had no choice but to participate in their society, hunting, warring, and living with those who made a point to differentiate him from themselves. It was only when an all too familiar affliction began to drain the spirit from the boy, that Tark sought to leave the planet. Paj recalled the condition that had taken Tark's biological mother, and soon realized it had been passed down to the boy himself. In spite of his latent resentment, Paj on some level still cared for the youth, and as such, spent what little the pair had on transport off world in hopes of saving the child. Unfortunately this transport was destined for Hutt space, delivering Tark right to the front door of a savvy, yet low level crime boss by the name of Urrbad Khal. This Hutt was low on the power structure of his crime family, but had aspirations for a quick ascent, all he needed was muscle. It was in this crucial time, that the desperate, naive yet talented Tark was given to him. Tark knew little of the medical capabilities of the universe beyond what little he had experienced on Kaleesh, and this became apparent to the Hutt when Tark asked for help. The procedure to fix his failing organs was simple enough, if only moderately expensive, but the Hutt knew he could keep this talented Kaleesh hunter at his side if he merely treated Tark's symptoms. So a deal was struck between the two, Urrbad would provide the "incredibly expensive" medicine necessary to keep Tark alive via regular doses, and Tark would hunt and kill whomever Urrbad chose. The young Echani, with no other options, accepted. So, for years, Tark worked under his new patron, learning valuable skills in hunting his new prey, the most dangerous game he had tracked. He learned what worked against sentient beings, and what did not. He learned how to pilot a star ship, and how to even repair it to a decent degree. Most importantly though, Tark learned just how effective some of his old techniques worked. Now, Tark is the right hand to one of the powerful up and coming Hutts in the power vacuum left by the Archeri invasion, eternally trying to pay off a fabricated debt accrued to pay for medicine he should not need. |
