Since it seems I am not the only fan of these awesome books, I'm starting a thread!
Anyway, I love these, and have read all of them (except for the young adult ones). And now I'm gradually buying copies and re-reading through the series again. I'm up to Sourcery now.

Woo! x3
I have little idea what order the Discworld series goes in, as Pratchett's works are a little hard for me to find, but I've read several of them. ^^ I think Night Watch was my favorite, even though as a whole it was a tad more serious than his stories tend to be.
My favorite characters are:
1) Sam Vimes 2) DEATH 3) Granny Weatherwax
How 'bout you? :]

Hmm.. that's a tough one. I think you'll have to wait till the second half (or so) of the series, but I find the bursar (of the Wizards) to be hilarious. (The one who has to take dried frog pills). Besides him, Death is probably my favorite. And, yeah, there's not really all that much of an order to the series. Granted, it'll be less confusing if you read all the wizard books in order (or all the witches ones, city watch ones, the Death ones, etc.). But it's not as if you have to go from 1 to 2 to 3, etc. I just do because it's easier for me to keep track. And, well, the first two books, Colour of Magic and the Light Fantastic kind of are part one and two of one story. But books 3 and beyond... order can be thrown out if you want. General discworld link: www.terrypratchettbooks.com/discworld/But... I can find a list of the "order," well, the order he wrote them in... and what 'series' they are in (from my memory and Wikipedia)... Colour of Magic - Rincewind the Light Fantastic - Rincewind Equal Rites - witches Mort - Death Sourcery - Rincewind, wizards Wyrd Sisters - witches Pyramids Guards! Guards! - city watch Eric - Rincewind Moving Pictures - wizards Reaper Man - Death Witches Aboard - witches Small Gods - Lords and Ladies - witches, wizards Men at Arms - city watch Soul Music - Death, wizards Interesting Times - Rincewind, wizards Maskerade - witches Feet of Clay - city watch Hogfather - Death Jingo - city watch The Last Continent - Rincewind, wizards (I think this is the one where the bursar goes crazy and gets hilarious) Carpe Jugulum - witches The Fifth Elephant - city watch The Truth - city watch Thief of Time - Death, witches The Last Hero - Rincewind Night Watch - city watch Monstrous Regiment Going Postal Thud! - city watch Making Money Unseen Academicals - wizards I've read 'em all, and own the first six. And now rereading them again.

Oh neato! ^o^
Rincewind is in more books than I thought he was, which is a good thing. Zomg, I remember him in the book Eric... frellin' hilarious. And who could forget the parrot? "Up yours wizard." was its favorite phrase I believe. And I agree, the Bursar is quite funny too. xD

Aye. I always hope I read parts about the bursar when I'm alone, otherwise people stare at me when I burst out laughing.

I'm a fan myself, have most of the books on my Kindle but havn't had the time to read them. That list will be very helpful, thank you.
Favorite Character: Carrot Ironfoundersson, City Watch
A 6 foot 5 inch human raised by dwarves and hinted repeatedly at as royal blood. Hehe. Some of the times I have laughed hardest at are Carrot's antics.
Example, after Carrot breaks up a fight at one of the roughest bars in Ankh:
"Beg to reporty thirty-one offenses of Making an Affay, sir, and fifty-six cases of Riotous Behavior, forty one offenses, of Obstructing an Officer of the Watch in the Execution of his Duty, thirteen offenses of Assault with a Deadly Weapon, six cases of Malicious Lingering, and-and Corporal Nobby hasn't even shown me one rope yet-"

Oh, hahaha... I forgot about Carrot (shame on me!). He's very entertaining as well, his and Angua's relationship, specifically.

Ah yes, Carrot for the win. xD And Angua! Gah, I forgot to put her on my list of favorite characters! I would say the City/Night Watch crew is my favorite, I might be somewhat biased though, since I've read more books involving that group of characters than any other. Currently, I'm bouncing back and forth between Equal Rites (Witches) and Moving Pictures (combination). Which reminds me, I have yet another character to add to my list: Gaspode the Wonder Dog, a cynical mutt that can talk. ^-^
Favorite Characters:
4) Angua 5) Gaspode

I've read them all, but some more than others. I'm not much of a witch novel fan, those were good for only one read but the rest are excellent, my character is actually in part based off Havelock Vetinari, or atleast that is the plan once I sort all the ideas in my head and finalize the bastard.
My rankings:
1. Guard novels 2. Death Novels 3. Moist von Lipwig novels 4. Rincewind novels 5. Witch novels

Saw this and had to share! Pratchett, after all, being my favourite author.
I think my favourite book would be Guards! Guards! just for the guards themselves, their camaraderie and plain weirdness (I'm looking at you, Nobbs!). My favourite character however would have to be Lord Vetenari closely followed by Moist Von Lipwig from the Going Postal/Making Money books for their fantastical personalities.
