How to Get Paid (OPEN)

OOC: Hey, no sweat. I completely understand. I'll try to make a longer post, but no promises. We kinda write off each other, which is common amongst most RPs. Get well soon, man. Plus, this thread is going to go out with a bang. I got enough muse to add one last little twist that will be fun...

IC:

"Well..." Mikau said, dragging the word on as long as he could. He looked around him: they seemed to be in a simple clearing like most they had passed through before. The young Dark Jedi sighed... he had little clue had to get out of here. There was, of course, the option to ascend to the top and travel aboveground to make things easier in terms of visual distance, but it was also more dangerous... the natives would surely be attracted. And Mikau knew the two men couldn't fight forever; they were bound to tire completely out sooner or later.

Deciding it would be better to travel aboveground anyway, Mikau turned to Jarod. "We'll have to be quick," the young man said, "but we're going to travel by treetop... or in this case, mushroom top. I can lead us to where my ship previously landed and fire off a signal flare, though there's no telling what could happen if I do that. The natives may get feisty again, especially considering nightfall is approaching." Mikau began to jog, then summoned the Force through his feet to leap atop a mushroom head. He beckoned his hand for Jarod to follow.

Jarod quickly followed Mikau into the jungle, noting their pathway, in case something dire happened, and he might of needed a hasty exit. Once they reached a massive wall of towering shroom trees, he pondered on how to pass it, when Mikau stated the obvious. He nodded his head, and watched Mikau leap onto the massive shroom, and quickly leaped after him, almost loosing his balance once landing. " Hmph, I hope those natives don't come back...I don't need to sacrifice any more appendages to them" He chuckled at his own injury, and slapped his right hand on Mikau's shoulders, He was starting to like this man, he could prove to be a valuable asset in the long run...if they survive the TERROR OF FELUCIA

Mikau lead the two of them agilely across the mushroom tops and other fungi tops as well as lily pads. Mikau himself was pretty sure that he was leading them the right way, then he smiled when he saw the landing lily pad that his pilot, Ilia, had first dropped him off at. He stopped, and motioned for the fellow Dark Jedi to do so as well. It was now dark out; the stars shining brilliantly once more in the skies.

Mikau silently reached into his bag and pulled out a tube like contraption, then pulled his lightsaber to him and ignited it. He tossed the tube into the air and slashed diagonally at it, causing it to spark. When it hit the ground, a bright orange object ejected from it and was sent flying into the sky, then out of view. "She should be here soon..." Mikau said, his voice trailing off as he heard something in the distance...

A horn, perhaps, though Mikau didn't have time to contemplate the noise until he heard more rallying cries from the natives. However, this time, it was more dangerous than just well-armed, human-like natives. Mikau cried, "Jump!" and he flipped backwards through the air, also flipping his hilt around to its backhanded position.

As if on queue, a giant, blue-pained rancor flew from out of the trees and landed on the lily pad. Mikau was surprised that the pad itself was supported enough to hold a rancor's weight, but that was beside the point. The young dark jedi turned to Jarod and nodded to him. "We'll have to take him together." He said assuredly, and parted his legs, ready to attack when the point was opportune.

[Othorious]

Jarod backflipped, tossing his satchel onto a smaller Shroom, and quickly activated his lightsaber. " I'll go for the legs, then you'll attack it's head while it's busy with me..." Without wasting anymore time for talk, Jarod rushes forth, his green lightsaber humming in the dark night. The Rancor unleashes a vicious roar at Jarod then attempts to slam a massive fist down on him, but Jarod quickly slides to the right, leaving a small burn mark on the Rancor's hand, and leaps for his legs!

Jarod slams right down on the Rancor's foot, and quickly slashes three small marks on it's shin, but the creature kicks him off, and attempts to crush him underfoot. Jarod nearly avoids being roadkill, and leaps up, leaving another small burn mark on the beast's leg.

Mikau walked forward slowly as Jarod made his assault, easily distracting the rancor as it wildly scratched at him. Mikau's wild purple eyes seemed to glow with the Force in the bio-luminescence of the mushrooms and fungi around him. The boy twirled his lightsaber once more, and then sprinted towards the rancor.

He leaped up, flowing freely with the force, and slowly flipped around, landing on the left shoulder of the rancor. Mikau brough his saber arm up and then down, causing his saber to follow his arm as he did. Quickly, he flipped his saber to a stand grip and drove it deep into the rancor's ear hole. It screeched and grabbed Mikau in its giant hand, leaving the boy's saber lodged firmly in the side of its head.

The rancor simply began to squeeze, and Mikau gasped for air. Breathing became difficult, but the adept, young Dark Jedi began to control his breathing through the Force; bringing his respiration down to a slower but safe pace in order to not be crushed to death. The rancor waved its arm violently, sending Mikau on a roller coaster ride in the air. The Dark Jedi moved his arms into the grasp of the rancor and pushed outwardly with the Force, opening the grip of the wild beast. As he fell through the air, he pulled forth the Force into both of his arms, and shot forward a very violent and intense Force push, doing little but sending the rancor back a few feet.

Mikau looked over to Jarod and waved, motioning that he no longer had his lightsaber. He quickly looked back up at the rancor who swatted it out of his ear hole, causing the hilt to land with a bounce at the rancor's feet. "Go! Attack his feet again and I'll get my saber!" Hoping Jarod would follow through and attack, Mikau ran forward, screaming at the top of his lungs, almost like a battle cry.

Jarod quickly sprints towards the Rancor, and sends the entire length of his blade into it's kneecap, that didn't just injure the beast, but royally piss it off. The Rancor swiped at Jarod with it's massive claw, sending him sprawling to the edge of the pad, his legs dangling over the edge. " Uhh, If you could hurry up! " The beast rushed forward, and Jarod had no choice but to leap back, and so he did, and landed on a small Pad with his satchel, but he quickly leaped back to the pad, right to the left of the creature, and reactivated his saber. " Come get me you fat bastard! " He waved his saber in the air like a beacon, and the rancor rushed forward...

"Sweet!" Mikau almost laughed as the rancor was distracted by the ever-cunning Jarod. Mikau rolled forward as the rancor barely missed swiping at him, and proceeded to pull his saber hilt to him with the Force. Timing it nearly perfectly, Mikau activated the bright cyan blade and brought it straight through the rancor's claw that was still chasing him.

The rancor whirled around and screeched, possibly in pain, but possibly out of sheer anger. The large beast stomped forward as Jarod waved for it to, and Mikau dodged out of the way. Breathing heavily, the young Dark Jedi knew he had one chance, and he could take it now or watch Jarod die. Instinctively, he leaped up onto the rancor back, and ignited his lightsaber backwards as usual. He waved his saber-arm wildly up and down, nearly incinerating the tough skin of the large rancor. It turned quickly, and Mikau held on to one of the spikes on it's shoulder. The rancor attempted to grab Mikau, who leaped high into the air and threw his saber down into the eye of the large beast.

"Now!" He screamed at Jarod, hoping they would simultaneously understand that they should cooperatively dive straight into its head with the lightsabers. Mikau came down through the air, retrieving his saber mid-flight, and drove it deep into the rancor's skull...

[Othorious]

" NGYAAAAAAAA " Jarod screamed as he burst upward, green lightsaber whizzing through the air, and he slammed it right between the Rancor's eyes. " TAKE THAT! " He used the force to slam his saber even deeper into the Rancor's head, and he even heard it cross sabers with Mikau's cyan blade. " From me to you, go choke on it..." He pulled his saber free from the Rancor's skull, and somersaulted backwards off the creature, and watched it fall on the pad, hoping it wouldn't take it down in it's death fall.

OOC: I have a plan for my pilot, so this thread isn't going to end just yet.

Mikau chuckled at the rancor's grievous screams as it died. As the two young mens' sabers whizzed against each other in the rancor's skull, Mikau sighed with relief. He knew the battle was over. He yanked his blade out after Jarod did, and rolled off the rancor's head as it fell from the lily pad and slammed forcefully into the ground, never to be heard from again. It seemed as though the locals were finally going to leave them alone.

Mikau sighed and deactivated his saber, attaching it back to his waist. He fell to the ground and sat, tired again. "Looks like the worst of it is over," Mikau said, yawning. "I had a mission here originally, you know." He explained, looking Jarod in the eye. "There's somebody here I'm supposed to exterminate for a crime lord back home. But..." The boy stood, seemingly a little better. He looked around in the sky, happy that the natives finally learned their lesson. "You seemed more interesting, so I pursued you and crushed my commlink so that my pilot wouldn't know where I was going. I, uh, hope she'll be here soon..." Mikau looked around. He hadn't thought about the fact that Ilia wasn't here yet, even though he sent off the flare about fifteen minutes earlier.

He grumbled under his breath and paced the lily pad to the other side. The young man was getting angry... his pilot couldn't have actually left the planet's orbit knowing he had no commlink with which to communicate. "Maybe she's just incompetent," Mikau suggested back at Jarod. "I'll fire her or kill her or something, I don't know. She better get back here quickly."

The young man walked back towards Jarod. "Any sign from your ship?"

Jarod dusted himself off, some of the Rancor's blood splashed on him when it died. " No, My Comm is dead, and the ship is probably orbiting the planet now..." He walks over to Mikau, placing his right hand on his shoulder. " Don't worry, I bet your pilot will be here any minute now...I hope" He slowly rubs his left wrist, " I don't want to run into any more of those natives, they got me pretty good, but that was because I let my guard down like a fool...so..while we wait, we could trade stories... Like...how'd you get into the 'Dark Jedi' business anyhow?"

Mikau contemplated the situation. The lack of escort off of Felucia, and the fact that he strayed so far from his original mission. There was no way he was going back to the Smuggler's Moon now. The young Dark Jedi would surely be killed; he knew this all too well. Situations like these never... went over too well, especially not with local crime lords like the one he signed under.

His spirit eased a bit, however, when Jarod assuredly clasped his shoulder with the good right hand. Mikau 'hmph'ed again, and turned his head to face him. Mikau folded his arms, and looked up. "Hmmm..." He began, closing his eyes. "It's a long story, actually." The young man walked over to the edge of the lily pad and sat on it, dangling his feet from it. He motioned for Jarod to follow.

"You see," he began, staring blankly into the jungle. "I was a Jedi once, like most. I had a... master, like most, and I went on missions like most. My master was a kindhearted and civil individual, one who not only cared for me as a growing padawan but as a person. He taught me everything he knew that I could learn, and beyond. He cared for me like a father. Like... the father that abandoned me. Well, there was..." Mikau stopped momentarily. The situation was hard to bring forth to his mind, much less bring forth to speak without tearing up.

"Well, one night, we were sent to Nar Shaddaa to investigate- er, rather, eliminate- a local crime lord due to the merciless killing he was doing. Anyways, we get up to the office, and this beautiful woman shows up..." He stopped again, remembering just how pretty she really was. "She was a Dark Jedi. To protect my Master, I leaped on her first, and we fought. The battle lasted a while, but eventually I bested her and she dropped her saber. She surrendered, hands up, and..." Mikau stopped again, and looked to Jarod's eyes with a stone-cold gaze. "My master said not to kill her. To spare her life because she had surrendered. The woman began to cry and beg for her life. I... I ended it quickly, without a second though. I enjoyed killing her. And that's when..."

Mikau stood, brushing himself off. "I don't talk about this much, I'm sorry. But I suppose I owe you for the help." He paced the pad for a few steps, being sure not to walk too far. Mikau sighed heavily, and continued. "My master looked to me and promised that it wasn't over yet; that I could still return to the temple to atone for what I had done. I loved my master dearly, but... I wasn't ready to do something like that. I killed him too. And then it was over. I destroyed everyone in the room, cried my eyes out, and slept in the streets for months."

He averted his gaze from the sky back to Jarod. "...What about you?"

[Othorious]

" Wonderful story...But here's mine..." He turns away from Mikau. " My Story...started before I had a Master...when I was a simple youngling, There was this bully, Cartuga-Ih, who picked on me and my childhood friend, so I taught him a lesson. I defeated him during one of the one-on-one training sessions, but I used the darkness inside my heart, and the hatred for him to win. " He turned back to Mikau, " Then I received my master at the age of 11, He was a king hearted Chistori Jedi Master, Dyrall Krak. He taught me the pros and cons of being a Jedi, and I treated him like a Father, and we went on our first mission together, to Corellia, where a band of Pirates threatened Anarchy. We quickly stopped them from Derailing a local train, and traveled to their cavern fortress. I was foolish, and was led into a trap, and was forced to fight a starved Nexu, and barely won. My master quickly apprehended the Crime Lord, and we returned to Coruscant, to discover that another Crime Syndicate had kidnapped a Important Ship Designer for the Kuat Shipyards, and lets say that went very well." He actually chuckled happily, he hadn't chuckled happily in a few hours. He coughed and turned away from Mikau, " But I'm boring you with my life story, let me cut to the chase, I was sent on my first solo mission, and after I completed it, the ship I used malfunctioned, and sent me far away from the planet, and I was lost. I crashed landed on a planet soon after the hyperdrive lost power, and traveled for days in one direction, hoping to find some sort of village. Alas, I did not, and nearly died from dehydration and fatigue, but I was saved by a pair of merchants, and they brought me to Fondor, where I healed and met my new Master, and he took me away to become something better than the Jedi, and....well here I am!" He turned back to Mikau, a sad look on his face, " I never saw my master, or my friends ever again...but I guess we're friends right? "

[Alexander]

"Interesting..." Mikau said as he scratched his chin curiously. "I see. So they never came looking for you. That's what you meant earlier." Mikau walked back over towards him and chuckled. He folded his arms and looked off the lily pad towards the dead rancor, scarred with lightsaber slashed from them both. He noted that they both had rough stories, yet also interesting. It was a shame, Mikau thought as he smiled to himself, that the Jedi thought they were so perfect... They were so corrupted, yet they refuse to believe it.

The young Dark Jedi turned his head towards Jarod slowly. "I guess if lost Jedi can have friends, then you're my only one." He laughed. Emotion, other than mere attraction to the opposite sex, was still cold to him since the loss of his master, but Mikau decided it was time to give something else a try. He nodded to Jarod, then turned around quickly.

From above, a shuttle carelessly and precariously hovered about, knocking over some of the mushroom tops and tree-like flora. It seemed to come to an abrupt stop in the air, and then a body fell from the ship's lower loading ramp.

Mikau saw this, his ears perked up, and he dashed over to catch to body firmly. The weight brought him to his knees, and he noted that is was a hooded and cloaked man who held a lightsaber firmly in his grasp. Another Dark Jedi? Maybe. Sith were unbeknown to the galaxy; or at least, that's what Mikau had heard. It had to be. Or just a simple Jedi, but the garb implied a Dark Jedi. Mikau set the body down gently and took the saber hilt. He ignited it, and a scarlet blade hissed into existence. He waved it about a bit, then deactivated it, throwing it towards Jarod. "It's not blue, but it fits your style, no? Once you get a cybernetic hand, you can use it or toss it. I don't care." He chuckled, then looked up towards his ship as the intense wind blew his hair back.

Mikau grit his teeth as his shuttle landed on the pad. From the ramp, a well-formed human female staggered forth, holding onto the poles of the ramp. Mikau dashed over to catch his pilot, who coughed in his face. She had been scorched. From the looks of it, no fire had been used, but... something else. Something more devastating than fire. "Ilia?" Mikau spoke softly. He moved his eyes over to Jarod and tilted his head back, motioning that he draw near.

His pilot spoke up in a raspy voice, and Mikau narrowed his eyes as he watched and held her. "They... a dark Jedi boarded the shuttle as I.." She coughed, and continued. "...left, and he used some sort of electric attack on me, but I pushed him off the ship and shot him enough times to kill him... I think..." The young woman coughed again, and Mikau still seemed not phased. "I... I sent for help. I radioed into the local Jedi enclave before I made my way back here, and they said..." She coughed heavily again, then continued. "They said they'd send help..." Mikau's wild eyes widened and he stood her upright.

"You asked for help? From the Jedi?" He asked, his teeth grit though a closed mouth. "How could you? Ilia!" He screamed, and let her go. Out of anger, he beat her body forward into the ship with an intense Force push, knocking over medical equipment and other things alike on the ship. "You betrayed me!" Mikau cried, his eyes tearing. "You would... you would call the Jedi and betray me! They would kill me and you both! You know that!" He picked her up, holding the woman in the air with the Force, and he yelled, his deep voice striking sheer anger into her heart. He surged his arms forward, and Ilia's body slammed into the windshield of the shuttle.

The girl moaned, and raised an arm. "Mikau!" She yelled, also tearing up. But he did not stop his assault. He picked her up again and concentrated all the fear and anger he held within him, and screamed again. The Force around them caused different objects to go flying about the shuttle's cockpit and slam into things. Mikau unfolded his arms, forcefully pulling them backwards. Ilia's arms and legs immediately detached, and he sent the limbs surging out the shuttle's windshield, causing glass to fly in ever direction. For a moment, Mikau fell to his knees and wiped the tears from his eyes. He stared at the body of now-deceased Ilia, who's eyes were shut. The only thing attached to her body was her head. He had killed her, too.

After a few moments, the young Dark Jedi stood and walked slowly down the ramp. He turned his eyes, stone-cold once more, to Jarod. "We... need to leave. Can you fly a ship?"

[Othorious]

Jarod walked up into the ramp, " Yes...but I hope you didn't damage anything important..." He quickly strides into the cockpit, nudging the mutilated remains of the old Pilot aside, and quickly situates himself in the Pilot's chair. " C'mon Mikau, we need to get out of here quick... Oh Shit...The windshield is broken...but wait! I've found the comlink, I can signal my ship..." He quickly fumbles with the switches, " Computer, This is Jarod, bring the ship around to point 0456, and prepare for a quick escape!" He nods and 'uh huhs', and wheels around to Mikau, " Alirghty, My ship is coming, get whatever you need, and prepare for a hasty exit..." He leaps up, grabs his satchel, and walks down the ramp, the loud sound of a ship approaching fills the air.

Mikau nodded and stepped aside as Jarod strode into his cockpit, mentioning not destroying anything important. "Something all too important." Mikau said quietly, looking over to the remains of his former pilot, Ilia. His eyes, still showing no emotion, stared down the remains of her.

As the fellow Dark Jedi radioed in his ship, Mikau quietly walked over and knelt beside the horrific remains of Ilia. Still a stone cold gaze in his eyes, he lifted her head and stared at her eyelids. Strange it was, Mikau thought, yet he could put forth no emotion from himself. He stroked her hair once and laid her down as Jarod strode off the shuttle; his own ship approaching and making a loud sound.

Mikau made up his mind rather quickly. He reached over and opened one of the average sized plasteel cylinders and threw everything out of it. He carefully picked up Ilia's body and placed it inside, then shut it and picked it up. Though it was heavy, Mikau carried it down the loading ramp. As Jarod's ship landed, he gave his own one last final look. It would rot here forever.

The young, conflicted man walked over to Jarod as his ship landed. He set the plasteel cylinder beside him, and met Jarod's eye. "We need to make for Kamino," he started, placing a hand softly on the container. "I need to... reconstruct something."

[Othorious]

" Hmmm, Alright...it'l take awhile but we will get there..." Jarod watched as the ship extended it's boarding ramp, and set it down on the pad. " Well, C'mon, let's not waste time now..." He quickly strode up the boarding ramp, and into the main chamber of the ship, and listened to Mikau quickly enter his ship. " Computer, Set a course for Kamino, we've got some business to attend to..." The computer spewed out a reply, and the ship shuddered as it clsoed the ramp, and slowly rose into the sky, and out into space. " Make yourself at home...but don't touch anything..." He quickly left Mikau alone with the body, and strode into the cockpit, watching as sky turned into space, and space turned into hyperspace. What am I gonna do now...the Master is gonna kill me...

Mikau nodded silently, picked up the plasteel cylinder, and walked up the ramp. He turned once more as the ship took to the air, and finished his ascent as the ramp closed quietly behind him. His eyes darted here and there, and then to Jarod as he entered his cockpit. "Don't mind me." Mikau chuckled, and took a seat around a hologame table quietly. He set his elbows on the table and rested his chin on his hands, staring at nothing but the cylinder that contained his former pilot's body. He knew, somehow, he would get her back... and he intended to find that answer on Kamino: home of the brilliant cloners and biologists.
