I know most of you try to make your posts long, and good. But do you always think infront of the computer? Or du you leave the place you so often sit, to go think? I know I do! And I find that the best spot to think is the shower. a good loooong shower always help me (No details on that ) I like the shower, It's away from TV, Radio, computer, the internet. Gives me time to think. And get clean A friend of mine goes for a walk. I tend to do that too sometimes. Just to get some fresh air. You guys do anything special to get those brain thingys moving?

I improv with some friends of mine. It's actually where I get most of my ideas from anyway.

I am part of a collective consciousness. Since I am a drone in the hierarchy, I am usually the one carrying out the tasks. I am not allowed to think. The hive Queen takes care of all our worries.

I do almost all of mine in front of the computer, except when I get ideas in bed, and then I really want to type them up then, but those are the ideas that are usually forgotten by morning.

I'm a spontaneous bugger. Usually, as long as I've got something decent to respond to, I can come up with something fitting. It's just starting that's a pain for me. So, in that regards, I am almost always by the computer. If I get details somewhere else, I always wind up forgetting to write them down.

I just get a general idea ready and do all the writing on here. To get a good basis though sometimes it takes time, or else I end up contradicting myself.

Off the cuff is a bit of an understatement for me, stuff just kinda comes to me when I'm writing it. No real thought involved....probably cause I'm just that 1337.

Most of my best writing comes after playing music.
Either listening or actually playing. I rarely use notepad, I just type it up in the forums, look back at it and spellcheck it with firefox and the forum spellchecker [if it has one].
Cause I'm just l33t like that.

I usually think up a little bit and continue to think as I type, and by the end totally eliminate what I originally thought up. But, I usually write stuff down in a notebook before I type it, so I dont lose it.

Normally i get stuck on what to write when i'm posting. Its not terrible writers block just idea come in drips rather than a rush of creative thinking. The way i'd like it to be. i just chug along until it's done and i'm happy with it. But when i'm really stuck music always gets me thinking, although i never get the problem when I'm tired and writing. The ideas just seem to flow constantly.

Actually, I get alot of my ideas from the books. I usually come up with ideas sitting infront of the comp, but my better posts come when Ive been thinking for a while.

Well, usually, when i do actually have the time to post something (which is a time becoming ever shorter on the few sites I'm still one), I tend to just post on the spot, I usually read the post(s) I need to reply to through and think up during then, maybe give myself a few minutes after to run through how I'm gonna start it, but I generally just let my imagination run wild, hence why I often go off on a tangent. But for the good ol' action posts which involve some sort of weapon work, first of all I'll picture it in my head, run through a few ideas. Then I tend to get up out of my chair and run through them physically a few times slowly, to see if it works. If not then its back to square one, or I notice how to make it better. Not so good when you're working in the realm of possibilities that is Star Wars, seeing as the actions tend to be less realistic and more imaginative, so I do often end up hindering the uniqueness of combat and making it more, shall we say, down to earth. But, returning to the point about taking time to think of posts. Usually, if I'm going to be one to start a thread then I'll spend most of my time away from the computer doing things and at the same time, running through possibilities. Hence my starting posts always tend to be longer and also more in depth. And finally, character profiles. I used to have really big problems with these because they were so basic and plain. But now, sometimes I think I write too much and I often don't finish them (thinks of Grand Master Zen Ossto, Force Rogue Vain and Pilot unnamed who I was part way through writing). This would be because I spend a lot of time mentally thinking of things for them, and then when I think I've got it all planned out, when I come to write it, I gain spontaneous thoughts of "ooo, I should put that in" and "if he did that there then it makes more sense for this here" and so on and so forth. And here lie the dilemma which caused me to leave two character threads on this site unfinished. Ahhhh, fun times. Oh look, thi'd be my longest post on this site for months .

Yeah... Shower definitely. I also find that when I'm driving in my car (I love to drive, especially in my awesome Jeep, whoo). Sometimes with music (it sets the mood of my thoughts) and sometimes silence helps to spur my thinking. I used to brainstorm before sleeping, but after I got married muttering ideas to myself when he was trying to sleep would have been rude. That ended and even though we're not together anymore, I still don't contemplate before sleeping unless I have something pressing on my mind. When writing, I write at the computer. I type almost as fast as I think, whereas trying to write by hand just cramps my hand... or I end up with scribbles I can't read.
