A blaring buzzer woke Doneeda from her slumber. She hadn't bothered going to her bunk, she'd figured Var would be happier not sleeping in the same room as her.
It took Doneeda a few seconds to register what the alarm actually was. She traced her finger from screen to screen from her seat, figuring out it was the Hyperspace Nav computer telling her it was about to spit them back out into realspace.
3..
2..
1..
The stars slowed down, and Ziost rushed up to meet them, stopping moments before the ship impacted the planet. Donnie flipped the engines on, and made sure the hyperdrive was cooling down properly before making landing preparations.
Zios' contro, dis NC3421F a...
Doneeda looked up her coordinates on the nav.
321 mark 48.
We have you, 421F, Vector Zulu Charlie, advise when you have visual landing pad.
Copy, kontrol, vektor Zulu Charlie, 'vise when Visual. Over'n'out.
She said into the comm, getting the route information onto the nav system and lining up the ship.
After a fairly uneventful reentry, she was visual on the landing pads.
Control, Is visual landing pa's.
Copy, we've got you, cleared to land pad 2
Pad 2, copy.
She said, swinging the groaning freighter in a large arc to get to pad 2.
The ship lumbered slowly over the pad, Doneeda fighting the wind to get it down smoothly, eventually landing with a dull "thud".
She flipped the repulsors off and the engines, deciding to keep the reactor running until shore power was assured. Donnie also figured she should wake everybody up, they were at the half way point. Hopefully they'd be back on sunny Korriban by this time tomorrow, she thought.
Doneeda stood up, and promptly had to grab onto the seat.
Whoa..
She was extremely dizzy. The Twi'lek looked around the cockpit and found her, now empty, bottle of liquor.
She was still drunk.
Doneeda made, what was basically moonshine back on Korriban. It was about 90% alcohol, and she used it to degrease engine parts. It was also safe to drink...in small quantities. She'd not drunk a small quantity.
Whatever...
Donnie though, collecting herself, far better at balancing now that she realized it would be wearing off in a few hours. With that revalation, she walked down the hall to the room where Var was sleeping.
Doneeda wasn't too keen on getting a lightsabre through the chest, so she hit the door chime, hoping it would wake her up.

Var's vivid green eyes flashed open at the sound of the chime. Her first instinct was to detect a threat. But barely a second had passed before she realized the source of the interruption was merely Donnie. While the pilot was definitely not an object of trust, she also wasn't an object of fear or concern.
Varulla'aba wondered if the pilot was even capable of deception at all. If she wasn't it was a shame. She had no small amount of skill, and if she'd known how to better use seduction... She could have been the power behind a Hutt's throne.
The Sith Initiate swung her legs over the edge of the bunk and shifted her weight onto them. She'd fallen asleep in her armor, something she hadn't done for a while, and she could feel it distinctly. The stiffness and the numb tingling in one of her feet belied the awkwardness of her rest.
She hadn't even planned on sleeping really. Not without knowing her two 'comrades' locations and intentions. But here she was, alive and well. Not that she'd run that kind of risk again.
She crossed the small room and hit the door release. With a hiss and a creak, the door moved aside and Var walked out. With the slightest nod of recognition she moved wordlessly past Doneeda, noting the smell of alcohol on her.
Really its amazing that we're all still in one piece...

The wind whirled around Doviculous' dream form, as he stood atop an icy mountain, a plethora of Sith behind him, rushing down the mountain, colliding violently with a massive Jedi army at the base if the mountain. Doviculous eyed the battle, and with the simple flick of his hand, the Jedi ranks were assaulted by a massive storm of lightning and fire. Doviculous ruled over all of the Sith, as he rained chaos and death upon the Jedi. He threw his head back and laughed as he unleashed more force storms against the Jedi, as the world crumbled and exploded around him.
Suddenly, Doviculus jolted up from his cross-legged position on the floor of his room. He groggily stirred as the ship creakily made it's landing on Ziost, he must've fallen asleep while meditating, something he must learn never to do again. He yawned, and slowly rose to his feet, stretching and popping his joints loudly. He slowly walked out of his room, and into the small hallway that connected everything, and noticed the recently awakened Var, and the obviously drunk Donnie. He sighed, and headed towards the galley, where he took a seat at the table, and tapped his fingers in boredom on the table.

Sion woke up to the sound of a siren, and rubbed the back of his neck.
Ugh, What time is it? He asked, rubbing his eyes. He stood up and stretched, walking out the door, past the two twi'leks, ignoring them.He then walked into the galley. Again ignoring the devaronian mongrel, he took a pack of rations, walked out of the galley, sat back in his bed and began to eat.

Doneeda moved over to the other side of the hall and pushed the door chime.
Nothing happened. She cocked an eyebrow, pressing it again.
Still, nothing. She shrugged. They'd wake up eventually, Donnie figured, turning towards the direction Var went.
We're here, by the way.
She said, heading to the Mess to see if they had any form of stimulants onboard.
Donne's search for coffee bore fruit, there was some in small, dehydrated cubes in the food locker. She removed one, and put it into a paper cup. She read the directions and, all they said was to add water to the line. The Twi'lek shrugged and turned the tap on, adding water to the line, and the cup fizzed and the cube dissolved into the water. Heating it up at the same time.
After a couple of minutes alone, a chime went off ship wide. somebody was hailing them. Probably the ground.
Donnie nodded as she passed Dov in the hallway heading towards the cockpit.
Yes. We've been informed of your mission, somebody's been sent to help you, he should be there momentarily.
As they said this, the light on the console indicating somebody was pressing the "let me in" button on the ramp, lit up. Doneeda got up and headed down to the cargo bay, sprinting across the wider area.
She pressed the "open" button, and waited while the ramp dropped for their new addition.

He had been chosen to assist with some mission, apparently it would be a young crew in a broken down ship, easily spotted. He sighed while leaning against the control tower awaiting the arrival. Why am i always the one chosen for these things? They always turn out bad, lets hope it doesn't this time. he thought to himself, suddenly from above he could hear a ship descending with a very disturbing creak to it and instantly knew this was them.
Clad in his normal brown and maroon robes he stood straight and watched it descend with very little grace. Who the hell in their right mind would pilot such a piece of junk he thought while watching it, his redish black hair whipping in the whirlwind of this damned hunk of junk, finally it came to a halt on landing pad two and he sighed with relief at least they made it alright.
Shrugging to himself he walked over to the ship and looked it over a couple of times wondering who was inside, reaching out with the force he explored the inside of the ship noting several life forms, a couple force sensitive and one not, however those who were force sensitive didn't feel relatively powerful. Must be new recruits or something, hopefully they can hold their own somewhat, lets find out.
Walking closer to the ship he notices a button near the ramp leading into the cargo bay so he pushes it, hey maybe it'll blow up the ship and he can just forget this whole thing but, to his dismay it simply set off a buzzing inside of the ship. "Well they know i'm here now, lets find out who they are." He stood near the entrance awaiting some form of life to greet him.
The ramp lowered slowly with horrible creaks which sent chills down his spine. "Really..?" He looked up into the darkness of the cargo bay then decided what the hell, he began his ascent into the ship looking for the one who let him in. It so happened to be a Twi'lek standing nearby.
Raising an eyebrow his dark eyes stare intently at the girl. "So i guess you're the pilot, as i sense no force ability out of you, why else would one such as you be sent? Where's the rest of this group?" His voice is harsh, deep and cold but has an underlying silk to it as if he had been another person sometime in his life.

Donnie raised an eyebrow.
The best, an' the mechanik...though de ship wannit my choice, we ga assigned t'it, so don let it color your opinion o'my work.
Doneeda said, closing the ramp, and pointing at him while mentioning " opinion of my work ", to drive the point home.
She was touchy about her reputation as a mechanic. The twi'lek could repair, or build pretty much anything with engines, wheels, repulsors or a reactor. And was proud of it. The ship was abysmal, but without spares there wasn't a whole lot she could do to make it any better.
Truth be told, if it were up to her, the ship would have been stripped for parts on Korriban, and it's hulk used for target practice.
I'm Doneeda Sok'nada. An'da rest of de "gang" is in de mess, I think...follow, Is right up there.
She said, gesturing to the stairway across the cargo bay, then walking towards it.

Doviculous sighed at the annoying sound of the ship's 'doorbell'. He wondered, why would a ship have such a device? Was this ship a house or something before? Whatever the case, it didn't matter, he wanted to see who was at the 'door', so he slammed his fist on the table in mild annoyance, and quickly strode into the hallway.
He turned to head into the cargo hold when he heard Donnie's voice, and someone elses, Visitors?. He shook his head, and slowly strode into the hold, pulling his hood and mouth cover up to create his mysterious presence. He saw Donnie, and a human, one far superior than Sion, and from what he gauged, either him and the human were equals in power, or the human was a bit higher, whatever the case, he proceeded with caution. Hello there, welcome to... The flying trashcan his voice was riddled with displeasure at being on this ship.

Var sat in the relative seclusion of the copilot's seat, taking small bites of another ration bar she'd spirited away from the stores into one of her Echani armor's numerous pouches. It served a purpose, and served it well.
She was deliberately out of the mess. She valued her privacy, after waking up especially. She needed a little silence and solitude to fully wake up, and to analyze this latest development. Though her own senses were thoroughly average, she could still tell the newcomer was powerful. Quite powerful in fact.
And that troubled her. If this had simply been a quick and easy delivery mission as the unknown master claimed, then why would anyone else be sent? Especially someone with actual skill and power.
Var was under no illusions about her own abilities. With a blade she was passable, but not a master duelist. Her own force powers showed she had been trained twice, but never knighted. She was more than a match for most of the fresh initiates. But there were... exceptions. That had taught her to fight smart, and to play dirty. The powerful warrior was practically defenseless when taking a shower, sleeping, or even eating. And with a little creativity those soft underbellies could be targeted.
But she had to know them first. It took observation, and the judicial use of her own natural intelligence.
She had no proof of it, yet, but she was suspicious they had all been chosen as sacrificial lambs. The ship hadn't crashed and burned, so their arrival was to be met with someone to eliminate them. Probably not so obviously as on the pad, but perhaps during the search for the necklace. If there even was such a thing.
Yes, Var would keep both eyes open now. She'd balance them between the newcomer and the Devaronian, with more attention paid to the former. Sion could keep tabs on his prime adversary well enough. Hopefully. It was up to the Twi'lek though to analyze the new addition to the party. And she would do that entirely through passive tactics. Waiting, watching, and listening. Then at the right moment a few questions or answers. Just enough to be uninteresting and not arouse suspicion.

"Don't worry yourself too much, you'll be off this...'trashcan' in no time" He looked to the Twi'lek who named herself as Doneeda and tilted his head. She seemed out of place for a mission such as this, especially with a powerful force user on board such as the man now standing near him, but he shrugged it off and didn't care too much. If she happened to die she isn't important enough to tell anyone, he would just pass it off as if she never existed.
His mind still stretched out he felt someone else touch him, evaluate him and the edges of his lips curled up in a mock smile. The smile revealed his elongated canines making it easier to spot now he definitely is not human. He shifted his eyes to the man and nodded in mock courtesy then walked past him towards the being whom thought it was entirely alright to evaluate him without having ever met him.
As he made his way to the cockpit he thought to try something, reaching out with his mind telepathically he would attempt to touch this beings mind, a female it seemed sitting in the cockpit. His mind would touch hers and relay this message to her. You are wise, looking at everyone from afar, assessing their skills then deciding on how to react to them. Trusting those you first meet is a foolish folly only children make, it seems you aren't one.
She might shut him out of her mind or accept the message, it wasn't a hostile attack on her mind so she should feel no threat. He shrugs and finally steps into the cockpit leaning on the side of the wall and staring at the co-pilot seat where the girl sits at.

Doviculous chuckled, and eyed the near human, yes, near human. The fangs gave it away, humans don't have that size of canines. He shrugged, the man was strong, and Doviculous respected that, it was hard to find people who actually earned respect. Doviculous sighed, and strode past Donnie, lightly letting his hand brush her arm as he passed, chuckling ever so softly, and headed towards the cargo hold door.
As he exited the freighter, he was met by frigid cold weather, something Doviculous was not used to, being raised on Vendaxa, a jungle planet. He pull his hood and mouthpiece up, and embraced the rather soothing cool air. He eyed the surroundings, snow, snow, snow, tree, snow, boring. This place was as bland as Korriban, but... Something nagged at his mind, something that had much power judged him from across the planet, interesting... Later, he would have to seek out this power...

Var spoke to the newcomer without turning her gaze away from the view outside. "I see you noticed. I suppose I really shouldn't be surprised though, should I?"
She was at ease with the situation, both the touch on his mind and his touch on her's had proven she was in no danger. Or at least no imminent danger. But it had also given her a general impression his powers. Or at least his mental powers. The fact that he'd even noticed the subtle probing meant at the very least he was every bit as skilled as she was. And in fact, Var guessed rightly that he was substantially more powerful than she was.
She hadn't shut him out of her mind, but she had guarded the deeper levels of her thoughts. They were under near-constant guard, but being near a powerful telepath doubled her wariness.
"I think you and I both know that trust is never given. Possibly never earned as well. Knowing that is hardly wisdom, its realism."
She reached out again, curious to see if his mind was still open as well. Her eyes delivered the message again, a question obviously. Who are you?

"Trust is an idealism created by those who have never been betrayed, those who believe in the hearts of those around them. It's a fool hardy thing, never trust." He felt her mind touch his, it was open, no reason for it not to be he felt no threat from those around him at this moment. None of them had the skill required to invade his thoughts and try to hinder his mind. So he simply allowed her in, his deepest secrets are always guarded however by layer of steel and pain if she even tried she would reel back with pain and confusion.
It would be easy for her to discern who he is, no reason for him to even reply. The surface memories of his mind were there for her to see, they revealed his name Koeing Turion they also revealed a small amount about him, however only confusing bits, such as a companion, a very large cat indeed waiting outside. A cat named Kayn in which the man who encountered him earlier would now be face to face with.
The large cat from Dantooine had stood in the shadows, out of sight until the freighter had arrived, once Koeing entered the ship the cat took up post right outside the ramp awaiting anyone who attempted to leave. A menacing growl is what the Devaronian would meet at the end of the ramp.
The rest of the memories she would be able to skim past are simply there to give her even more indication of his power and that he won't be trifled with on this mission that he sincerely wishes he was not sent on.

Var's eyes maintained steady contact with Koeing's as she examined the memories and thoughts he had made available to her. It was no serious opening, but one just enough to serve as a calculated gesture of superiority. One the Twi'lek took no issue with. She was aware of her relative insignificance.
Bits and pieces joined in her mind to paint a picture of the man. It was shallow, and the colors were faded. She'd barely delved the surface, but she was obviously allowed no further. And she wasn't foolish enough to try.
Her green eyes flickered momentarily as she broke the connection, satisified with what she had been shown, even if only temporarily. Now there was an almost feline quality to her voice, something subtle and sly. She was probing gently for information, but relying on casual banter instead of deception to gain it.
"You sound like no stranger to betrayal Koeing, I'm sure you learned the lesson well."

Doviculous stared at the large feline at the end of the ramp. Probably the near human's, it seems like it wants to guard this ramp, I'll let it guard. Doviculous sat cross-legged on the ramp, staring at the cat intently, he had a thing for animals. Of course it usually led to a furry corpse, but this was different.
This cat was smart.
Doviculous sighed and observed the surroundings from the ramp, while the cat continued to eye him suspiciously. I want to snap your neck... he continued to stare at the cat, who seemed to stare back at him with the same intensity. Yep, I have lost it... I'm staring at a cat...

He allowed her the time she needed then once she pulled away from his mind his attention turned to Kayn outside the ship, apparently he encountered the Devaronian from before. A dark smile curled at the lips of Koeing as he relayed a message to Kayn through their telepathic connection. If he moves, kill him. The cat purred in pleasure while staring at the Devaronian, the large cat began running it's tongue slowly over it's teeth daring the Devaronian to become his next meal.
Koeings' attention was drawn back by the girl's comment, he thought it over a minute, while he did his mind closed off as memories flashed through his mind of the betrayal he suffered. However not a single emotion crossed his face, he soon pulled away from reminiscing and focused his attention on the girl before him. "Everyone, at least once in their life will experience a betrayal of some sort. It's simply the nature of the universe, yes you are correct i'm no stranger to it, and those who betrayed me simply made me stronger."

Var found his response to be quite interesting. Not necessarily from the content of his words, but from their choice. Combined with the silent contemplation that had prefaced his comment, it was clear this was no brute. He was a... philosopher? A Sith thinker?
The Twi'lek used the word 'wisdom' only rarely. To her it had the connotation of the Jedi and the Light Side. And that wasn't a life she was eager to remember. But this man, Koeing, seemed to have a measure of it.
She could sense his power easily. That much would have been obvious to any of the others on board, even the pilot without force sensitivity. But what she found drawing her into his 'orbit' as it were was knowledge. Knowledge and power together in one package was a rarity. And an opportunity. Var was determined to seize that opportunity as well. Simply by keeping her eyes open and raising the occasional question she could soak up some of that... wisdom... like a sponge.
Also it would give her insight, in case of the worst. In case he was another betrayer. But even if he was, that was just the way of the universe. As he had admitted.
"And the next one to betray you?"

Doviculous grew bored of the cat, he sensed some force affinity within it, but it didn't really peak his interest. With a heavy sigh, Doviculous rose from his seated position, and turned to re-enter the ship, clearly the feline did not want him to go any further than the ramp. Once he re-entered, he noticed Donnie was still in the cargo hold, and as he passed her, he muttered the simple warning, Don't go outside... and continued into the main hold, where he turned, and entered the galley.
He took a seat at the table, and unsheathed his lightsaber, inspecting it. It was a malicious looking hilt, silver chrome, adorned with many spikes, along with four long prongs at each end. The hilt could also be used as a close combat club, or perhaps a shanking weapon. The red activator switch sat closer to one set of prongs on the tip, a small hint to keep that side away from your body when activating it. He sighed, boredom was taking hold again, and he sheathed his saber, and stared boringly at the table

He laughed at her question, it amused him. The next one to betray him? A half smile touched his lips while he thought this question over, some of his hair fell into his face causing him to have to remove it and push it back over his ear. His eyes stared intently at the girl now, no longer did he have a smile or the amused air he did have about him.
His voice however did not reflect his cold facade, it sounded like silk, at peace. Something a Jedi might sound like."The next one to betray me you ask. Well it will be my own fault if i am betrayed again. If i allow someone close enough to be able to betray me then i deserve my fate." His mind wandered at this moment. This girl....Seems intelligent however she could use some help with her path..
He eyed her up and down then nodded to her."However..Just because you do not trust, does not mean you should not respect your peers, masters and even those below you. Arrogance is the downfall of many. Respect your enemies most of all, if you do you will never be surprised by them on the battlefield. Those who believe themselves better are blinded to the fact their opponent might just be stronger then they are. It's the curse of the Sith...Arrogance."

A wry smirk appeared at the corner of Var's mouth. It was obvious her core secrets were safe then. Arrogance was her facade. It was a disguise she wore so well it was like a second skin. She didn't believe she was better at all. She believed she was worse. In fact, she knew it. That was why she fought harder, she fought smarter, and she outmaneuvered and out-thought her opponents. She had to in order to survive, and if Var was anything she was a survivor.
"Some might say anyone close enough to attack you is already within your trust," she replied, enjoying the chance to fence verbally. "And if arrogance is the curse of the Sith, then foolishness is its cause. You know fully well why I reached to your mind. I believe in being prepared."
