Name: Xang Zhian
Gender: Male
Age: 16
Race: Falleen
Birthplace: Falleen
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 130 lbs
Appearance: Small green scales completely cover Xang Zhian's meager reptilian frame. His clawed fingers and toes are also prevalent indicators of his Falleen heritage. Midnight black hair hangs down, shaggy and unkempt, around a pair of piercing blue eyes. Xang's striking facial features are further accentuated by small ridges, making him look just that much more dashing and handsome. While he was not the most powerfully built individual, in fact most would call him scrawny, Xang always had a solid dedication to physical training which instilled a powerful core strength inside him.
As for clothing; Xang prefers to wear comfortable, yet durable items. Most of the time Xang ends up wearing a simple, black cotton t-shirt and a pair of beige cargo pants. His footwear is also usually just some simple dark brown leather boots. Xang's jacket on the other hand is more suiting of his former station as Prince. It is a formal robe-like jacket that is dark purple (which has nearly completely faded to a dull black) and decorated in a fancy, maroon colored trim. The final item that Xang wears is an antique silver necklace that his mother gave to him for his 16th birthday; the last day he saw either of his parents.
Personality: Xang is an arrogant, and proud, noble that believes people of lesser stations are around simply to serve him. He received a top grade education, and is naturally smart, which only leads to further delusions superiority. Normally a calm and focused individual, Xang has been known to fly into fits of rage if something does not go the way he planned. This is most likely because he is so sure of himself, and his abilities, that when things go wrong Xang must question himself and that only makes him feel even weaker.

Chapter 1: A Special Gift
(Birth - Age 4)
(Birth - Age 4)
The history of Prince Xang Zhian, of the Zhian House, begins with his parents King Zixor and Queen Xora. They were the noble lords of the House of Zhian which ruled over a large kingdom on Falleen homeplanet. Zixor had initially left Falleen to become a Jedi but failed to be accepted as a padawan learner and was forced to return home a failure. Prince Zixor's shame turned into determination as he helped build his father's kingdom. When Zixor became King, he took on Xora to be his Queen and continued expanding the kingdom. At the same time King Zixor also built himself a positive reputation among the other nobles and even the lesser stations. Things began to take a turn when the time came to produce and heir to the throne. Some stories claim that once Zixor joined the Jedi Order, the force cut him off from producing children; other stories say claim it was because Zixor deserted his Falleen heritage that he was cursed. Neither of them were true, it was just that the couple simply had misfortunes becoming pregnant, and also with keeping the pregnancy to term. Being without a heir to the House was a dangerous position to be in as Fallen nobles were always looking to rise in power. It seemed as though the House of Zhian was doomed to be lost into history, until a miracle happened. After decades attempting to become pregnant, and all sorts of complications after succeeding, Queen Xora finally gave birth to a healthy baby boy. The child was seen as a holy gift by his parents, and revered among the rest of the kingdom. There was nothing particularly obvious about the child but he was definitely special.
Growing up Prince Xang was often left alone with a wide variety of toys while his parents were busy ruling the kingdom. It never seemed to bother the baby prince but that was because he was too enthralled with his toys. Usually a very happy child, it was only during a tantrum that Xang discovered his unique gifts. One servant had left a plate of cookies on a nearby table so he could get a glass of milk. A fellow servant was told to mind the plate but he was too busy watching the holotube. Young Xang really wanted one of those cookies and began to cry and scream, which only made the remaining servant to turn up the volume on the holotube. Straining against his pen, with his arm stretched out as far as it could reach, Xang pleaded for the cookie to come to him. With the cookie doing nothing, and the servant completely ignoring him, Xang became even more frustrated went even further into the tantrum. Using that anger and frustration as a sort of fuel, Xang directed all his emotions and desperation to the plate of cookies. Mid-scream a chunk broke off the cookie and slowly began to float over to Xang's hand. Xang continued straining against his pen as the cookie shakily floated over to him and his outstretched hands. As soon as the cookie was in reach, Prince Xang snatched it out of the air and shoveled it into his mouth. When the servant came back with his glass of milk he noticed the missing chunk and blamed it on the other servant that was still watching the holotube. He tried to explain it was not him and that it must have been the innocent looking child that was still locked in his play pen.
Things like that became common for the next couple of years until Xang was caught levitating one of his toys at the age of 4. The servants told King Zixor about his son's special powers and the King became fearful. Zixor did not want his son to grow up following the Jedi Code because of how it had hindered his own life. To him the Jedi were nothing more that a religious sect that somehow gained enough power to supersede from the Republic government. It was obvious they could not hide the child from the Jedi forever so the royal couple persuaded a clerk that worked in the Jedi Temple to register Xang as being non-force sensitive. With a combination of the Falleen pheromones, and a large sum of creditz, the simple clerk was a receptive and willing participant in the fraud. King Zixor knew his son would need training to control his force abilities but he did not want him learning the philosophies that the Jedi would teach. Instead he decided to teach Prince Xang himself and instill his own philosophies. Even though Zixor had never attained the rank of padawan, he did spend many years in the Jedi Academy learning about the basics of the force.
Chapter 2: Diciplines, Dicipline, Disciples
(Age 5 - Age 9)
(Age 5 - Age 9)
Once his father knew that he was force sensitive, everything changed for Prince Xang. No longer treated like an infant, the prince was now expected to begin basic classes and learn to control his force powers. If any other Houses found out about Xang's power then the whole House of Zhian would be in serious trouble. This did not stop Xang from using the force whenever he could get away with it. Telekinesis was definitely Xang's favorite force discipline, and he took to it naturally. This was contrary to his continued struggles to muster even the simplest of defenses. Even with the limited knowledge of his father, Prince Xang was able to take what he learned and experiment with it to develop his skills further. This did not go over well, especially when he was supposed to be studying for his other classes. Xang received a private tutor for each of his formal educational classes, which also included a course on etiquette. Combat training was different and only taught by Xang's father. While he enjoyed all the time he could get with his father, Prince Xang especially enjoyed their martial arts training sessions.
Not only was there a change in his daily routines, but the prince was also beginning to go through a few changes as well. Now able to speak fluidly, Prince Xang fearlessly asked questions out anything that caught his fancy. These would often come at inappropriate times but his father would simply sigh and answer the question. His other teachers were not as forgiving and often lectured him extensively about interrupting them. Like many other children around the age of 6, Xang became restless and impatient which disrupted his own, as well as his father's, studies. This quickly grew on King Zixor's nerves with the final straw coming one day when Xang disrupted his meditation. More powerful than any outburst, Zixor simply grabbed the running child and sat him down. Xang was given a quick lesson on meditation and told not to move his father said so. Together they sat in perfect silence for an hour before Zixtor explained further details on meditation. Through meditation Xang was able to learn the patience he was lacking and become even more focused on his studies.
Life around the castle was not the most thrilling for a young child but Xang made the most of it. On the rare occasions where he had free time, Xang did not have any other children to play with, so he often ended up pestering the servants to entertain himself. It was great fun for the young prince to sneak up on the butlers, who were carrying trays full of perfectly organized items, and startle them into dropping their tray. As Xang grew older he continued to enjoy the little game as the butlers learned to keep an eye, and ear, out for the disruptive prince. Even by the age of 9 the prince was still causing a ruckus around the castle. On the other hand; when nobles from other any of the other Houses were visiting, Xang was always on his best behavior. Noble Houses, even the weakest ones, were always held in high regard with King Zixor and this was picked up on by Xang. Lesser houses, and especially House-less peasants, were a different matter though. While the King looked on them with indifference, Prince Xang saw them as weak and only useful to provide the nobles with what they need.
Chapter 3: The First Taste
(Age 10 - Age 14)
(Age 10 - Age 14)
Even after King Zixor swore his servants to silence about his son's gifts, rumors began spreading amongst the peasants. While the King refused to cease training his son in the ways of the force, he also could not have the Jedi being notified either. To quiet the rumors the King began taking Xang on off-world excursions thus reducing the time spent exposing his son's gift to the kingdom. These sorts of excursions usually began at a later age, but at 10 years old, Zixor thought his son ready. For the first year Xang was only allowed to go a few weeks at a time before returning home for a month or so. During these trips King Zixor would teach the prince how to use the lightsaber he secretly carried. Hidden in plain sight, Zixor's lightsaber was clipped into a sheath and disguised as a simple sword displayed on his waist at all times. It was only during these trips that King Zixor ever had to unsheathe the weapon but each time he did it reminded him of his past failure. It was through Xang that Zixor felt he could redeem himself and so he pushed the prince hard. The tough sessions also help build prepare for the long pilgrimage that was to come. On Falleen, all nobility must take a pilgrimage that will take them around the galaxy. This allows them one last freedom and a chance to see whatever they want before having to return to their homeland permanently. Normally this pilgrimage was taken around the age of 15, and only lasts about a year, but Prince Xang's journey was going to be a different. It was announced that on his 13th birthday, Prince Xang Zhian would officially begin his pilgrimage and would spend no less than 2 years away. Another shocking statement was that King Zixor was going to be his guide, a role usually left to a teacher so the King could continue to rule. This was not the first time this had happened in Falleen history but it did usually precede the House's downfall. Queen Xora begrudgingly accepted full command of the kingdom and the two nobles left to begin the journey.
For the first year of the pilgrimage the main focus was on exploration; both of the galaxy and of Xang as an individual. The pair traveled to exotic planets to sample the native foods, entertainment, and culture before moving on to another planet. Because the pilgrimage was an unfunded mission, Zixor and Xang had to rely on other methods to pay for most things. Usually they would use their natural pheromones to entice individuals but every so often they would use the force. Manipulation of the mind was a very dangerous aspect of the force and if not properly used could have disastrous effects. Training was difficult but since they traveled and met so many individuals, there was a lot of people to practice on. As for combat training, King Zixor refused to teach his son anything new until Xang was put through an intense re-teaching of the basics. Mistakes were responded with a strike from Zixor's new favorite training tool, a wooden stick. The strikes were never that hard but stung enough that Xang made sure to stay focused on what he was doing. That stick became the bane of Prince Xang's existence for that first part of the journey. Right in the middle of one of his martial arts routine, Xang was struck in the calf for having his feet too close together. Later he was hit in the arm for not holding his lightsaber at the correct angle. This caused him to drop the blade onto his shoulder that gave Prince Xang painful burn and King Zixor a good laugh. Anger and rage built up inside Xang but he knew better than to attack his father so he just bottled it away. While he was in deep focus on some of his routines, Xang found he was able to draw from the anger and give himself an extra boost in his performance. It also seemed to give him a chaotic peace while Prince Xang performed his deep meditations, which always seemed to focus on his future.
Time seemed to slip by and soon the journey was passing its 1st year marker. Things were going well but something seemed lacking to Prince Xang. He wanted a chance to test his skills on someone other than his instructor and soon enough he got that chance. A few weeks later the ship was attacked and boarded by pirates. The guards held their own but were overrun none the less and the pirates overtook the ship. Everyone was herded into the cargo bay while the pirates looked over the ship for any loot. When they returned with a less than satisfactory bounty, the pirates decided that ransoming hostages might get them a better reward. They never even got the chance to make any demands before the pair of falleen nobles attacked. After issuing his son a silent command, Zixor drew his lightsaber and struck down the closest guard. Xang let out his pent up rage in a force blast that slammed a pirate against the wall and knocked him unconscious. With 2 pirates incapacitated so quickly, not to mention the appearance of a lightsaber and force powers, the remaining 4 were much less confident about their chances and attempted to flee. The pirates ran straight for their ship, most of them even made it on, but one fell behind and had to face King Zixor's wrath. Still too far away to attack him physically, Zixor decided to use a technique he had been hiding from his son. Reaching out with the force, he directed it around the pirate's throat and started to tighten around it. The pirate began choking and eventually toppled over onto his back grasping at the invisible force strangling him. Once the man was finally dead Zixor explained the technique to his son. It was the first time Prince Xang had ever seen the force used as a weapon and it both scared, and fascinated him.
Chapter 4: Changing Lifestyles
(Age 15 - Present)
(Age 15 - Present)
As the final year was drawing to a close, Xang began having to think about the inevitable choice that he was going to be presented. The first option was to return home where he would begin his duties as Prince of the Zhian House and be forced to give up on his gifts. On the other hand; he could abandon his hereditary title to wander the galaxy and expand his force powers without interruption. To Xang, using the force had become an extension of himself. It flowed through him and so he explored it, but now he was being asked to hide it, even forget it. This did not sit well with him but he was too proud of his heritage to abandon his family and so decided to head home. After stopping at a few more planets that Zixor had been holding back about, they returned just a few weeks after Prince Xang's 15th birthday. During the pilgrimage, House of Zhian had not only survived but actually expanded under Queen Xora's rule. Most thought this to be signs of good things to come but others believed it was just the rise before a fall.
Upon returning to the castle there was a lot of changes that Prince Xang had to get use to. The first was returning to a normal, strict schedule that allowed little to no free time. This scheduling included advanced courses in math, science, history, grammar, and several other courses related to war. Prince Xang may have learned war strategies in the classrooms, but it was in the command rooms that he got to put them into practice. Whenever less important missions came up, King Zixor ask his son to design the battle plans to give to the field commanders. At first Xang relied heavily on his field commanders to come up with most of the plan themselves, but as the prince became more comfortable taking charge, he eventually began developing the plans on his own. The confidence he gained through warfare also made Prince Xang more cocky and self-assured of his superiority. This also started to reflect in his increased force usage as well. Now that he was giving direct orders to individuals who had much more experience than he did, Xang started feeling safer to experiment with his force abilities. Most of this was done in solitude, but as Prince Xang became even more comfortable, he began using them in the open. It was never blatant, but Xang did start using it to the extent that rumors of ghosts moving, or even holding, items began circling the palace. Prince Xang even began practicing his force choke on insolent soldiers that back-talked to him, but it never seemed to work. A couple had rubbed their throats as if something was happening but their air-ways remained open.
On Prince Xang Zhian's 16th birthday, a great feast was held to honor all of his achievements. In truth it was really just an opportunity for the noblemen from around Falleen to came and possibly garner some favor of the host. Despite that fact, Prince Xang was actually having a decent time. It was not until he began talking to one of his father's oldest rivals that things changed. The conversation started innocently enough, offering pleasantries and praises about each others Houses, but soon it escalated into a full blown argument about past travesties. Once the insults started flying, Prince Xang lost control and flew into a rage fueled rant. Xang was so angry that he even lost control of his skin pigmentation and it turned from an emerald green to a dark orange, almost red color. Not only that but, without realizing it, Xang began applying pressure to the nobleman's throat using the force. Already in a full blown rage, Prince Xang took the nobleman's silence as weakness and continued to berate the seemingly fear struck man. It was not until the nobleman's eyes glazed over and he slumped to the floor that Xang realized what had really happened. Regaining his composure, and skin color; Xang suddenly became very aware of how many people were looking at him with looks of shock and horror. Guards quickly encircled the prince as he looked to his father for what to do next. With the eyes of everyone in the room on him, King Zixor was forced to place his son under arrest and have him escorted to the dungeons.
Waiting in the prison cell seemed like an eternity to Xang but after a few short hours his father finally came to see him. Zixor was not angry with his son, nor did he show any disappointment, he was simply scared about his son's future. The Jedi were coming to investigate what had happened, which meant they were coming for Xang and Zixor would not have that. After unlocking the cell, King Zixor told his son how to get to an escape route that would lead him to a ship that was already prepared. This was the last time Prince Xang would see his father and he did not know what to say so he simply hugged him tight. They held the embrace for as long as they could before the sounds of approaching guards forced them apart. Xang ran down the hallways that he knew were lightly patrolled and eventually reached the entrance to the escape route. Slipping through, he made his way to the ship that was awaiting him. It was a basic Aurek Tactical Strikefighter, nothing spectacular but that was obviously the point. Jumping into the pilot seat, Xang fired up the engines and quickly punched in the nearest coordinates that were outside the Falleen system. The ship took off and blasted its way through the bright, warm atmosphere and into the cold, darkness of space. To Xang it almost seemed a metaphor for his life; once bright and beautiful but now void and dark. Then he saw the sheathed lightsaber tucked down beside him, a final gift from his father that changed his outlook. The prince vowed then to become powerful enough to never have to run from the Jedi again, and then come back for his father.
