Bio: Darius was born on Dantooine to a family of farmers. With the fear of the growing Sith Empire and the angered Mandalorians, Darius wasn't let out much so his parents kept him around home. His family was trying to raise enough money to move to the deep core worlds where they'd be safe. When Darius was five a Jedi arrived at his home claiming that he felt a presence in the force and that it was Darius. The Jedi told his parents about the opportunities Darius would have with the order. Understanding that it might be their only chance to save their family they let the Jedi take Darius.
"Be strong son." said Darius's mother as he walked out the door. That was the last time he saw his parents and the last thing he remembers of them. Darius was taken to Coruscant where he was admitted to the temple. It was here that Darius learned of the force and what it was and where he was able to shine. When he wasn't in class Darius spent alot of his time in the library reading books and viewing what holocrons were available. While reading he came across the old stories of Revan and Malaak.
He began asking questions about the two and was restricted of certain material as to keep him from learning of the dark side at a young age. He continued his training always willing to learn what he could and in some cases even ask for extended lessons. When he was twelve Darius along with everyone else in his class was told that in a year their future in the order would be determined. Wanting to fulfill his parents wish he trained and studied extra hard in order to become a Jedi. During this year the knowledge that they had been taught was put to the test.
Finally when Darius was thirteen it came time for him to gain a master or it was off the corps. Darius and his class were called to the main chamber where it was make or break. Darius was beginning to grow nervous as other teens were being accepted by masters. When Darius was called forward he was questioned about what he had learned and his ambition for the future. He said he wanted to make his parents proud and gave a demonstration of his knowledge. When all hoped seemed lost one man stepped forward.
The man's name was Cyrus Tatham. Cyrus was a Jedi Knight Guardian from Coruscant. Cyrus took a interest in Darius for his passion and desire to learn. The early missions were simple, being crime, political, or investigative but nothing of a real challenge. Darius, eager to prove himself would often ask, "Will this mission be a real challenge?" or "When will we go on a real mission?". Cyrus would merely respond by telling him to meditate and be patient.
This went on until Darius was fifteen when he was approached by Cyrus. "Its time you built yourself your lightsaber Darius. You've displayed a good deal of patience and understanding these last two years and I believe you're ready." said Cyrus. "Really? But I haven't shown you any of my combat skills or anything useful to earn one."said Darius. "Building your lightsaber isn't just about combat. Its about showing your maturity and responsibility. That you're ready for a real challenge." said Cyrus. Darius couldn't help but show an eager smile on his face and nodded in agreement.
The next few days were spent acquiring the the necessary components for the lightsaber. The only thing left for Darius to obtain was the crystal. When it came to obtaining the crystal Cyrus tested Darius's connection to the force and flew to Ilum. Darius's connection to the force guided them to the planet. Once they landed Cyrus instructed Darius to follow him and stay close.
On the way up the snowy mountain side the two came face to face with a Gorgodon. Cyrus drew his double bladed lightsaber while Darius drew his training saber. If there was anytime to show his combat skills then this was it. The beast charged at the two with great speed. Cyrus was a few seconds quicker to dodge out of the way while Darius took a hit to his left shoulder and was knocked to the ground.
Seeing Darius on the ground, the Gorgodon turned towards Darius and swung its massive right arm down at him. Quick to react, Darius put up his training saber to block its claw. He slowly moved the beasts claw away from his face but one of the nails scraped his left cheek and cut it open some. Seeing Darius in trouble Cyrus rushed and swung at the beast from behind and cut off its left arm. The beast howled in pain as it turned on Cyrus and swung its right arm at him.
Darius quickly sprang to his feet and force pushed the monster away from his master. The beast flew about five feet then landed in the snow and not showing signs of life. Cyrus then walked over to the beast to make sure it was dead. Seeing that it was he put his saber away and signaled to Darius that it was safe. Darius approached Cyrus and they turned their backs to the beast to continue with their mission.
"Are you sure its dead? Shouldn't we cut off its head or something?" ask Darius. "That's simply barbaric Darius. It obviously died of shock from losing its limb." said Cyrus. They took two more steps and the beast in a feral rage sprang up behind them and swung at them. They both ducked and turned to face it. Darius going off of instinct force pulled Cyrus's lightsaber and activated it and stabbed the beast in the chest and dragged the blade up through the beasts head cutting it in half.
Breathing heavily Darius deactivated the lightsaber and gave it back to Cyrus. It was Darius's first time making a kill so Cyrus could obviously see that Darius was in a minor state of shock. It took Cyrus at least five minutes to completely calm Darius down. "Just be glad it was done out of self defense and to a wild beast and not to another human." said Cyrus. Darius nodded and the two continued up the mountain side.
When they reached the crystal cave Darius started to enter but stopped to look back at his master. "Aren't you coming master?" asked Darius. "This is for you to do alone. I'll be waiting here when you return and remember. A Jedi puts himself into his lightsaber, its an extension of you so don't rush." said Cyrus. Darius nodded at the advice and went in. He came to a large room that was filled with crystals.
Darius sat down and assembled the pieces in front of him and looked around trying to determine which crystal he would want. Darius began to meditate and a crystal nudged itself out of the wall and came over to the pieces. He spent hours meditating and slowly assembling the lightsaber. During his time meditating he envisioned himself with a blue double bladed lightsaber. After observing the mental image he opened his eyes to see if he had made any progress. Hoping to have a built lightsaber in front of him, Darius was only greeted by the sight of the parts in a set organized manner.
Knowing that it would take more time he carefully gathered up the parts and crystal and left the cave. He returned to Cyrus with a look of disappointment on his face. Cyrus nodded and placed a hand on his apprentice's shoulder. "In due time Darius." he said encouragingly. The two left the planet and returned to Coruscant.
When they returned to Coruscant Darius went straight to work on his lightsaber. The month seemed to drag on forever and it didn't help that Darius had to stop and backtrack his design a few times. Alas after a long month of determination, training, and still performing tasks for the council Darius's lightsaber was finally complete. Darius held his finished lightsaber and extended the blades. He carefully looked it over then retracted the blades and swung the hilt around getting a feel for it.
Cyrus was later called before the council to be given their first real mission. "I'm worried about Darius. On Ilum we were attacked by a gorgodon. We dealt with it yes but it was the way Darius reacted to it all. The first time it went down Darius suggested that I cut its head off. Smart yes but it was the tone of his voice that concerned me. It sounded as if he wanted to kill it. When we turned it tried for a final attack but Darius killed it with my lightsaber. When he killed it I sensed anger and fear in him. It would only be natural but it was the certainty in him." explain Cyrus.
The council consoled him and advised that he keep a closer eye on Darius. Cyrus then left to find Darius and inform him of their next mission. Their mission was to go to Tattooine on a lead that could lead them to a slave trading ring. Darius happily accepted the mission hoping he'd get to use his lightsaber. "Remember, we're going there to investigate a lead, not to fight." reminded Darius.
They flew to Taris and landed outside a market section of the ecumenopolis. From there they went to a local cantina and asked about a Twi'lek named Chir' Tulain. A drunk sitting nearby overheard them and gave them directions to a warehouse just down the street. In a show of gratitude Cyrus bought the man another drink and him and Darius went on their way. They went to the warehouse and went in where they found Chir'.
Out of sheer paranoia the Twi'lek thinking they were republic military spies ordered his gang to open fire. Cyrus drew his blue double bladed saber and Darius was finally able to reveal his blue double bladed saber. They quickly disabled the thugs leaving only the Twi'lek left. In the midst of the battle Chir' landed a lucky shot on Cyrus's arm. Seeing that his master was hit Darius ran at the Twi'lek and kicked the blaster pistol out of his hand then force slammed him against the ground.
Darius then deactivated his lightsaber and began asking questions. Chir' was resistant at first but Darius made him talk. Cyrus not seeing this go down well quickly dispatched Darius and told him to make sure the place was safe. Darius agreed murmuring under his breath. Cyrus finished getting the information and called for Darius. They had gotten the information they needed and they would be leaving soon.
Darius still not happy about leaving Chir' there started to get a bad feeling in his gut again. On their way out Chir' drew a hidden weaker blaster pistol and took aim at the two. Darius sensing this quickly turned and drew his lightsaber and deflected the shot. Darius then ran at him with quick speed and cut off the Twi'lek's hand then force lifted him up holding him in the air. "Darius no!" screamed Cyrus as Darius force threw the Twi'lek into a wall and smashing his skull.
They left the planet in silence and arrived on Coruscant in silence. Darius sensed his master was unpleasant with him so he went to meditate while Cyrus reported to the council. For the next two years all of their missions were centered around the slave trade ring. The missions grew harder as they grew closer to the leader of the crime ring and each time Darius grew more and more violent little by little. Then came time to apprehend the leader of the crime ring.
The person they were looking for was a bothan named Asyr Irys'yka. Their search would begin on Nar Shaddaa and would go from there. They spend weeks on Nar Shaddaa gathering information until they finally track down the bothan to the planet Thila. They fly to Thila and track down the bothan to a small outpost embedded in the mountains. "Darius I sense a disturbance in the force. Be careful in there, something isn't right." warned Cyrus.
They stormed the outpost swiftly taking care of guards. Cyrus kicks in the door the where the bothan is. Upon seeing this the bothan jumps up and out from the corner of the room and stream of red appears. "Deal with the bothan Darius." ordered Cyrus. Darius nodded and went chasing after the bothan while Cyrus dealt with the dark jedi.
Darius chased the bothan down and corned him on a cliff. Scared and not wanting to be taken alive the bothan jumped back off the cliff. Darius quickly force pulled the bothan closer but it wasn't enough to completely save him. Darius then lunged forward and grabbed the bothan's hand and pulled him back up and apprehended him. Darius escorted the bothan back up to the outpost where he found Cyrus dead.
Quickly pulling himself together Darius took the bothan to the ship and put the bothan in a secure room. Darius then returned to get Cyrus's body and brought it back to the ship along with his lightsaber. Darius then radioed for a pickup or transport from the republic being how he didn't know how to fly the ship. A small republic carrier ship landed on the planet and flew the ship back. On the fly back Darius overheard the two pilots talking about how Dantooine was taken over by the Sith Empire. Hearing this, Darius felt a burning hatred inside. The Sith Empire had conquered his home world and yet he heard no talk of retaliation of any sort.
Darius bit his tongue and cheek all the way back to Coruscant to keep calm. When he got back he went before the council and gave them Cyrus's lightsaber. He asked about Dantooine and they confirmed what he had heard. Darius then left the council chamber to meditate and be alone. As he meditated he wondered if the council would throw him out or find him a new master.

Still in shock and sad about the news he had received Darius walked the temple halls trying to make sense of it all. "All for a crime ring. All for a damn crime ring. Why aren't we fighting them? Why are we letting them do this?" said Darius. He blamed himself for his master's death and questioned the council and republic's lack of action towards the sith empire. He walked to the library and began to read. As he read he felt a disturbance in the force or a bad feeling in his gut. At this point he couldn't tell the difference between the two.
He kept asking himself if there was anything he could do to save Cyrus or if he had gone back if he could've saved his parents. To relieve some tension Darius went to the training room to let off some steam. In the training room Darius simulated a wave of training droids so he could work on his Shii -Cho. He repeated wave after wave until adrenaline kicked in and he went berserk on the droids. To finish off the wave he forced lifted the last droid and glared at it. He moved his hand from side to side moving the droid with the force. As he glared at the droid he imagined it to be the dark jedi that killed Cyrus. Feeling anger towards the dark jedi Darius began smashing the droid against the wall, watching it slowly fall to pieces. Once the simulation ended he calmed down and realized what he did and what was happening to him as he realized he was beginning to feel the pull of the dark side.
He left the training room and went to the library and began to read. There was something about reading that seemed to take the edge off. As he read book after book time seemed to be at a stand still around him. When he felt that he had done enough reading he left the library and saw outside that it was the dead of night. "How long was I in there?" he asked himself.
He debated on the matter of sleep, wanting to leave the temple to find somewhere to sleep but he couldn't. He wasn't a knight so he couldn't leave but he wasn't a youngling so going to the sleeping quarters felt odd to him. So he did the only thing that felt normal to him, he went back to the library and sat down and slept where he sat. While sleeping he dreamt that he had stayed to aid Cyrus. The two defeated the dark jedi with Darius stabbing his lightsaber through the dark jedi's chest. Cyrus praised him for his effort and bravery and didn't mention the bothan that they were originally after.
Darius knelt down to get a better look at the dark jedi's face. He pulled back the hood only to see his own face. The shock of seeing himself as the dark jedi woke him up. He felt a hand on his shoulder and looked over to see the librarian. "Odd place to sleep. You were talking in your sleep."said the librarian. Darius looked back down at the table with his eyes half open. "Nightmares. Lovely."said Darius sadly.
