It's been several days since Reven has been released from a hospital on Naboo where he was being treated for a disease that gave him a very high fever and nearly killed him. As for what was the disease, it was something that Reven himself couldn't pronounce, but according to his doctor, Reven caught it during his travels and it normally would be something he would be vaccinated for if he was born within the Republic. As for his mentor Takumi, and the former cathar slave known as Kharr, he had no idea when or why they left. That was mostly because of the fact that he passing out during the several months he had this illness and he really couldn't remember what exactly had happened as he was being treated.
The most logical things Reven could come up with was that Takumi didn't want to be around for the medical bill or he needed to leave after picking some kind of fight at one of the bars on Naboo. The only thing he had left from his time with Takumi though was the ice blue bladed lightsaber Takumi gave him before suffering from the high fever. The young hapan recalled Takumi telling Reven that the new lightsaber he gave him was duel phase and unfortunately, Reven didn't have the time to play around with it to figure out what duel phase meant. Shortly after being released from the hospital, Reven decided to continue his travels alone again hoping that he would eventually run into Takumi or at the very least find another master that could teach him the ways of the Force.
The young hapan left Naboo and headed to Alderaan through public transportation in order to see first hand what this planet was like. During his time as a slave, Reven heard about how Alderaan was a beautiful planet that built cities around and with nature. A feature that he heard was a magnificent sight to see. Reven now could be seen siting in a spaceship that was normally used for public transportation. In right hand, there was a crumbled up ball of tin foil which he made from the tin foil that was wrapped around a hot sandwich he bought on the ship. Unfortunately, there wasn't a trash can in sight so Reven figured he could throw it away at the spaceport. After the ship entered Alderaan's atmosphere, Reven looked out the window and noticed one of Alderaan's amazing cities that appeared to be built around a river which ended with a massive waterfall. The young hapan couldn't help but look at the city in awe as he marveled at the impressive sight as if it were the first time someone has been in space.
When the ship landed at the spaceport, Reven got out of the ship with all of the other passengers and when he stepped onto the spaceport, he started to walk around looking for a trash can and like the ship, he couldn't seem to find one. Figuring that the janitor or a cleaning droid would pick it up, Reven dropped the ball of tinfoil onto the ground unaware at the fact that there was a sign behind him that said "Do Not Litter" in large red letters.

Officer Shakka Dawana was enjoying a relatively lazy morning by her standards, which was a welcome change from the past months' events. Raids in the food court, fights with lightsaber-wielding perps. A nice relaxing morning was just the thing she needed as a break.
So far the most demanding thing she'd had to do was provide directions to an elderly human couple looking for the Green-line trams into the residential sections of the city. She'd even wound up providing them with reasonably accurate directions to their grandson's neighborhood, which she'd never actually been to. It was far out of her price range.
Luckily, she'd pulled extra pay for her hazardous duties lately, which was getting stashed away in the hopes of a nice condominium some day instead of her grotty little studio apartment. Of course it was fine in its own way, with a certain little one-room charm. Or what would have been charm if it wasn't covered in a mix of old clean laundry, dirty new laundry, and empty take-out boxes from a month's worth of delivered food from ethnic restaurants.
She took her attention away from her messy abode and instead focused on the arriving passengers from a transport ship that had just landed, coming from Naboo if she remembered correctly. Nice place Naboo, pretty idyllic if she heard correctly. But then, so was Alderaan. It meant vacations were a little hard to plan. If she made enough credits to afford one that was. Maybe some place tropical someday...
One passenger in particular stopped directly before a sign clearly marked 'no littering' and proceeded to drop his trash right on the ground. This was a bit of a mystery. The sign was perfectly clear, quite legible, and the red text stood out against the white architecture of the spaceport's newest wing very explicitly. Even the wording left nothing to chance. No littering. Two very simple words.
The orange policewoman walked over towards the youth, one hand resting lightly on her stun baton just in case, though she didn't anticipate having cause to use it. Pity, she was always up for the fair chance to smack someone with it.
Instead she tapped the young kid on the shoulder with her left hand to get his attention, and asked him a very simple question as she gestured to the sign.
"Kid. Can't you read?"

When Reven felt someone tap his shoulder, he turned around and found an orange skinned twi'lek that appeared to be 3 years older than him wearing what appeared to be a police uniform. The orange skinned woman would then ask him if he could read as she pointed to a large white sign that said "Do Not Litter". Oh crap... I'm probably going to have to pay a fine now. And I spent whatever money I had on the hospital bill, transportation and that sandwich thought the young hapan as his body suddenly tensed up for a variety of different reasons. For starters, the officer was a woman and Reven has always had a hard time talking to them. He also didn't have the money to pay for whatever fine he might be charged with and he couldn't help but notice how her right hand was resting on her stun baton.
For a moment, everything was silent as Reven tried to come up what he should say to her. Ok, I should definitely apologize to her and pick up the trash but what else? Should I explain that I've been holding the tin foil for the entire trip? She might say that I still have no excuse for doing that, but I could always promise that I won't do it again thought Reven feeling a bit overwhelmed. If it was simply just a male police officer, he would have just apologized for the crime, explain his situation, pick up the trash and promise that he wouldn't do it ever again without even thinking that hard. Sure he still might be nervous, but it still wasn't as nerve wreaking as this.
"Umm..I'm sorry about dropping that piece of trash, but I honestly didn't even notice that sign. But I've been holding that piece of trash for most of the ship ride and I haven't even seen a trash can where I can throw it out for a while now. I know that it was still wrong of me to do that on any planet and I promise that it won't happen again. So why don't you just let me pick up the trash so that I can find a trash can to throw it out in and let bygones by bygones" said Reven in a rather fast pace with his voice in a nervous tone.

This human was certainly curious in Shakka's estimations. The kid was, for lack of a better word, nervous. She'd seen nervous before, and this was most definitely it. Rapid speech, defensive tone, and her just screamed uncomfortable. Yes, there were a few innocent reasons for that behavior. Maybe he was scared of strangers. Maybe he was flustered around women, pretty ones especially, or maybe he was just bad with people in general. Or cops. He'd been caught screwing up after all, and that never went easily for anyone.
But there were so many not-so-innocent reasons for nervousness. Weapons. Drugs. Contraband of all sorts. Nefarious intentions. It was her job to weed out all of those things, and she didn't shirk her work. There was a chance this was going to be serious, and she had to treat it as such.
"All right sir," Shakka started, "What I'm going to have to do now is search you for contraband. If you're more comfortable with a male officer searching you I can call one in."
Shakka lowered one hand to her blaster just in case, and reached up to her commlink with the other. "10FB12, detaining a suspect. Will advise."
The orange Twi'lek determined that interval had given her suspect enough time to make a decision, so she started to issue instructions in a very cool and collected voice.
"Unless you want a man, hands up against the wall and legs spread apart. Probably a good idea to let me know in advance if you have any contraband."

"Um okay..." said the young hapan looking rather confused on why he was being checked for contraband for simply littering. Reven really didn't have nothing to hide and he didn't see any sort of problem what so ever if his lightsaber was discovered by the twi'lek. After all, people did usually bring blasters with them for self defense and that was pretty much what his lightsaber was, a weapon to be used in self defense. Reven would then walk to a near by wall and brought his hands up against the wall and spread apart him legs so that the orange skinned cop could check him.
Well, at least I'm not being told to go into another room... thought Reven figuring if that were to happen, he would get a rather unpleasant cavity search which he had heard from other spacers from his time as a slave as unplesant as putting your hand through a meat grinder. Like any of person going through this for the first time, the young hapan was very nervous to the point where his legs felt weak and were shaking. While he could have asked for a man to do this to ease his nerves somewhat, Reven just wanted to get this over with and continue on with his day. It's not like he was some kind of dangerous threat that was going to kill several people and bring harmful drugs onto this beautiful planet.

Shakka took her hands expertly ran them along the young man's arms, then worked her way up one leg, then the other. Felt like the usual pocket litter down there, which didn't bother her. However, as she ran her hands along his coat...
An object. Large metal cylinder in fact, which could have been any one of a dozen things from a hydrospanner to a flashlight. Or a stick grenade. Or even a lightsaber, like the one that nut had attacked her with a while ago. But really, what were the odds of that?
Orange hands pulled the coat back and felt around for an internal pocket. Sure enough, there was one and she reached into it. Fingers wrapped around the object and drew it out...
And it was a lightsaber. Go figure. What were the odds of that? But still, just to make sure it wasn't a fake, she held it out to her side and thumbed the switch. Sure enough, with a loud sound a blue blade shimmered into existence. She thumbed it off again and placed it on her belt.
"All right, hands behind your back. I'm placing you under arrest in accordance with the Aldera municipal code for possession of an unregistered weapon and carrying a concealed weapon without a permit."
She reached down to her belt and pulled out a pair of durasteel cuffs she kept handy on her duty belt for the rare occasions like these where she actually arrested someone.
"You have the rights to legal counsel if you wish, and you are not required to provide testimony. If you do say anything, it might be used against you in legal proceedings."

The young hapan face couldn't help but turn a little red from embarrassment as he could sense people noticing the body search and he could hear the whispers of several people who wondered what exactly did the handsome hapan did or was suspected of to have him end up in this situation. After feeling Reven's lightsaber, the orange skinned twi'lek pulled out his lightsaber and for some reason, Reven couldn't help but get a bad feeling about this. The kind of feeling that he usually had when he was in danger causing a cold sweat to go down his back. The next thing Reven knew, Shakka told him to place his hands behind his back before telling him that he was basically being arrested for carrying a concealed weapon.
This isn't good thought Reven as he placed his hands behind his back willingly prefering not to make things worse than they are now. The young hapan could help but feel terrified as he worried about what was going to happen next. Sure there was always the chance that he could get out of this through the legal process, but he did unknowingly break a law. As a former slave who didn't even know his own biologically family, Reven was all alone. This time he didn't have someone like Takumi to come save him in this time of need. He was all alone now and this time, Reven wasn't sure if a prison cell was going to be the last room he'll ever live in.

Shakka fastened the metal cuffs around the suspect's wrists without event, which she thanked goodness for. Of all the moments, that was the tensest one where she was at the most vulnerable. After that moment, things weren't as bad.
She spoke into her comm link in a rather serious voice. "10FB12, suspect in custody, escorting him back to the holding area now."
The orange Twi'lek guided the young man away from the wall and couldn't help but notice his crestfallen face. She had to admit from his perspective it had to be pretty rough. Maybe he'd just come to Alderaan on sight-seeing and forgotten the rules about weapons, or not studied them. He'd littered, then he'd panicked and now he'd royally blown it. Couldn't be easy, and she genuinely pitied him.
"Look kid," She said with a sigh, "I feel for you, I really do. But it's my job to take you in for this, and I have to uphold the law."
She walked with one hand on his back at a leisurely pace along the winding and airy corridor, her boots falling audibly on the hard and smooth floor below her. The Twi'lek officer kept up her one-sided conversation in the hopes it would make it that much easier for him.
"It probably won't be that bad. First time offense, no resisting arrest. You'll probably just get a fine, a night in jail to cool your heels, then deported off the planet with your lightsaber in a week or two."

Damn these things are cold thought Reven as cold metal handcuffs touched his wrists. The orange skinned twi'lek would then speak into her calm link that she was going to escort the prisoner back to the holding area before beginning to lead the young hapan to their destination. As they started to walk, Shaaka told Reven that she felt sorry for him aand that she had no choice but to uphold the law.She would then begin to tell him that it probably wouldn't be that bad since this was a first offense and the fact that he didn't resist arrest. This made the young hapan feel a little at ease before he heard the word, "fine" come out of her lips. This of course made Reven more nervous since he spent all of his money on that hospital bill, the travel fair and that sandwich that got him into trouble.
"Umm, what happens if I don't have the money to pay the fine?" asked Reven as he continued to be lead by Shakka. Normally, someone in Reven's position would just ask for someone to pay the fine like a close friend or parent. But unfortunately, he had no idea who his biological parents were and the woman that raised him was still technically property. So there was a very good chance that whatever money she had belonged to the slave master. As for close friends, Reven really didn't have too many close friends other than the people he was previously traveling with. And it really didn't help that he had no idea where they were.

"Umm, what happens if I don't have the money to pay the fine?"
Shakka chuckled a little. Well that was unfortunate, and somehow she doubted the kid was asking out of interest in the hypotheticals of the criminal justice system. It was likely he didn't have a dime in his pocket which meant...
"Well then you might be stuck in the can for a month working it off in the laundries. It'll be a new experience, do you good."
The orange Twi'lek turned one final corner and stopped before a building set into the wall, in the same sleek white that furnished the whole of the spaceport, but written in bright, glossy black aurebesh letters was "POLICE." It was her precinct.
She led him on in through the doors and paused briefly at the main desk.
"Here's the guy Sergeant, he's been accommodating."
The Sergeant nodded with a grunt and waved her on through, and the Twi'lek officer moved on past him and into the depths of the police station, finally arriving at an interrogation room. She instructed him to sit down inside it as she ran off to evidence quickly to stow the lightsaber. It wasn't as if he could get out of a locked room with his hands cuffed and another officer watching through the mirror.

"Nope, not really. Although, I think the can might top the list of the worst places I've stayed at" said Reven with a light smile after Shakka told the young hapan that he would have to pay off his stay at the can doing laundry. Reven knew of course that he now got the bad end of the stick, which really wasn't new to him since the earliest he could remember was his life as a slave. As for what life he lived before that was a mystery with the only thing that gave him some identity was the blanket that had his name. Since it's currently with the woman that raised him, he couldn't have the blanket analyzed without going back to the desert world known as Tatooine.
The two eventually stopped at a building that said "POLICE" in bright, glossy black aurebesh letters. The orange haired twi'lek led him into the building and stopped at the main desk as she told her sergeant that she has the prisoner and that he has been accommodating. The sergeant would then simply nod with a grunt before Shakka lead the young hapan into the depths of the police station and brought him into the interrogation room. Reven couldn't help but look confused at what was going on since he expected to be locked behind bars to serve his time, not end up in an interrogation room.
Why do I have a bad feeling about this thought Reven nervously as he sat down as instructed. When Shakka left to bring the lightsaber to evidence, Reven couldn't help but wonder what was going to happen next. He knew that he was most likely going to be in a cell, but being sent to an interrogation seemed a little too much to for someone carrying a weapon. It was found on his person, so Reven couldn't argue that it was his. All of Reven's instincts told him that something was wrong, as for what it was, Reven didn't know.
Figuring that might be best to calm himself down, Reven closed his eyes began to breath slowly as he attempted to purge all of the negative emotions running wild in his mind with a meditation technique that he learned from Takumi during their travels. Since his telekinesis was still very weak, this was pretty much the only way he could use his telekinesis to move something as small as a credit. When he opened his eyes, Reven was completely calm as the force flowed though him like a river. This allowed the young hapan to think rationally without emotion clouding his thoughts.
After thinking for a good minute, Reven came to the conclusion that it had something to do with his lightsaber. After all, the Sith have officially returned and it made sense for any Republic officer to place suspicion on a lightsaber owner who wasn't part of the Jedi Order.

Shakka walked back into the room and slid into the chair across from the young man, fixing her gaze on him and preparing to become the angelic good cop. More often she was cast in the opposite role, the dangerous bad cop, but increasingly she'd been trying to become more versatile, widening the number of roles she could serve in.
And she'd also been gunning for detective, studying up for the tests and learning to grill suspects on the job. The regular boys were watching from behind the mirrored glass, waiting on her to wear him down and get the full story out of him. They'd intervene if she slipped up, or if she needed a bad cop to lean on the suspect. But she doubted that would be necessary.
The young man before her didn't seem like a bad sort at all really, just a guy who'd made a mistake. The DA would probably go soft on him, first time offender and all that. She just had to let the questions find answers, and the people in the observation room would be recording all the information closely.
She put a polite smile on her orange face as she sat straight in the chair, one leg folded casually over the other. Then she began, in a nice soft tone.
"All right, so first off please remember that you have the right to an attorney, and you don't have to answer anything if you don't want to. But if you do want to talk, we can get this whole problem solved nice and easy. You can start by telling me more about yourself, your name and where you're from. That sort of thing. Why you came to Alderaan."

As a result of clearing all of his negative emotions, Reven's sense in the Force expanding covering the entire room. When Shakka came in, the young hapan could sense that she was force sensative just like him, and compared to Kharr's force sensitivity, Reven could tell that she was stronger in the force compared to her. As she sat down into the chair, Reven had the feeling that she was going to be nice during the questions as long as he didn't become difficult. The orange skinned twi'lek would then remind Reven that he had the right to an attorney and that the whole problem could be solved nice and easily if he cooperated. She would then ask the young hapan to tell her about himself and what was he doing on Alderaan. The question on why he was Alderaan was an easy answer, as for things about where he was from was going to require more explanation on his part.
"My name is Reven Starlight and I came to Alderaan to go sight seeing. As for where I was born, well... that's an answer that I'd like to know myself. You see, for most of my life, I was a slave on Tatooine until my owner lost me in a bet and my new owner set me free. Because of this, I don't even know what my actual last name is. Since I worked in a cantina, I always heard stories from spacer about other planets and because of that, I have always dreamed of visiting those places. I stayed with my second owner for about a year since I had no place to go and left to travel across the galaxy"
"And ever since I left Tatooine about 3 years ago, I've been traveling ever since. As for how I get to place to place, I usually do a lot of odd jobs to pay for my meals and for transport. It's because of those expenses that I don't have any money to pay for whatever fine you plan on giving me" explained Reven in a calm, yet confident tone of voice which came as another result of purging his negative emotions.

"All right," Shakka said warmly, "And the lightsaber."
That was the real question, the heart of the matter. What was a kid doing with a lightsaber on Alderaan? He obviously wasn't a Dark Jedi or a Sith, she could tell that with one good glimpse, but it was equally obvious he wasn't a Jedi. No robes, no ID card. Of course getting his story straight was going to be a nightmare if it came to that.
But she didn't think he was lying. And she had a reputation as an organic lie detector, a knack for ferreting out the truth from a suspect. As near as she could tell, he was giving the truth and his intentions were pure.
That was pretty odd in her estimation.
You didn't generally find someone packing a forcie-weapon without some set of baggage, whether following the Jedi orthodoxy or else the 'Dark side' of 'the Force.' To her it sounded like a lot of mumbo jumbo, and obscure wizard talk. She understood other things better, like criminal code, blaster pistols, and stun batons. Those made a hell of a lot more sense to her. But she'd try to take this in stride too.
"You don't seem to be a Jedi or a Sith, so where did you get the lightsaber and what are you doing with it?"

"My mentor gave it to me as he taught me the ways of the Force since I'm also Force sensitive. I traveled with him for a while moving from planet to planet learning as much as I can from him. Unfortunately, I got really sick on Naboo from a disease that I really can't pronounce and is something that you would normally be vaccinated for if you were born in the Republic. It gave me a really high fever and as for what happened while I was sick is a real blur to me. The only thing that is certain is that my mentor left while I was sick leaving me with the hospital bill that took up almost all of my savings. I spent what was left of it on public transportation to get here and a sandwich, so I'm basically broke" explained Reven giving her more information than the orange twi'lek needed. But he felt that the more information he gave her, the more likely she'll trust him. Plus she really didn't seem like a bad person and figured that she might help him out if she knew the whole situation.
"Unfortunately, I only know the basics of the basics when it comes down to lightsaber combat, so I'm not able to actually use it in an actual battle. As for my Force abilities, I can pretty much only lift up something small with my mind, calm myself and expand my senses and use them to detect things that normal people wouldn't. Like the power of other force sensitve beings like me or..... you" said Reven taking a brief pause before saying "you". He wasn't sure if she knew or not, but he figured that she might be able to piece certain things that made her special and come to the same conclusion just as Reven did when he learned of his Force sensitivity. After all, he did have dreams that usually came true when he was younger, so who's to say that she doesn't have a similar or a unique ability that made her different compared to her peers.

Like her? Yeah, sure, right. Of all the crazy things a suspect could believe, this one was certainly up there. Shakka Dawana, Jedi? That would be rich, maybe she'd get a light baton. She shook her head a little at that, smiling indulgently as she pondered what to say next.
When it became clear that was the end of his statement, she leaned forward a little again and began to speak.
"Lucky for you legal assistance here is free, and when you serve your sentence you can do work in the laundries or where ever to earn a few bucks, then you can get your weapon back and get walked right back on a ship to somewhere else. Nice and easy. And in the meantime, free room and board."
The orange Twi'lek officer had a pretty good read on the suspect now. Honest mistake. That's what it was. And she'd treat it accordingly.
"So Reven, I think you made a mistake here. It doesn't have to be the ending of everything for you. We'll go nice and easy on you, and you'll be out again in no-time. What we're going to do right now is take you to the holding cells until we get a vehicle over here to transport you to central booking. We'll let you talk with a lawyer, and we'll set up a trial soon. But right now, please follow the officer out."
Shakka gestured to another man who'd just appeared in the room with a pair of cuffs. Then she turned and headed for the door, pausing right before it, turning to face him.
"Oh, and for what it's worth, may the Force be with you."
She turned and disappeared behind the door, heading off to the break room for a cup of coffee.
