“You are going to want to miss whatever it is you need to attend to... I am sure whoever it is you need to report to or see shall understand if you do not show... For I have something that you both may be interested in…” Master Fal’kirk’s short monologue already had her fascinated, for it seemed to Dalaya that something very unusual was about to happen. Her eyes met those of the Jedi Master in front of her and time seemed to stop for a second. Her stomach was twisted in anticipation. Yet, nothing could have prepared her for what he was about to say.
“You see…in these times, it is important for knights and masters of the Jedi Order to take on Padawans and you two have intrigued me greatly…I am in need of such Padawans and you two are very much the type of younglings I would like to take under my proverbial wing…I am heading over to the Council room to appoint you both as my Padawans, now I am not forcing it upon either of you, but if you wish to learn everything I have to offer and strive further more towards your destiny, then by all means, follow me... I shall not be offended if you wish not though, naturally.” Dalaya’s arms fell limp at her sides and her face shifted into an altogether comical expression of surprise. She couldn’t believe what she had just heard: her, Master Fal’kirk’s padawan less than an hour after meeting him! It seemed impossible – surely, it was impossible. Dalaya pinched her skin lightly, still not convinced that she wasn’t dreaming until, clear as day, she felt pain. Regaining her composure slightly she smiled with all of her mouth at the two people in front of her and fiddled with her mask (an old habit).
“Are you going to be joining us?” Joran asked, his excitement almost tangible. “I would like nothing more in the galaxy,” Dalaya replied before turning to face Master Fal’kirk, “I promise you won’t regret this decision!” For the first time since Juiin’s death, she felt content.
(And.... that's a wrap! I didn't feel the need for a longer post here, since we're just finishing up the thread.)
