The past couple of weeks have not been very fruitful for Eric. He mostly spent his time alone in the library or in his room meditating. Since he lost his master it's been as if a black hole had taken over his life and was sucking every bit of strength out of him. He knew that his master would not want this for him but he couldn't help but feel this way. A path was what he had to find. A hyperlane to get him from the miseralbe storm riddled planet he was at in his mind to a lush green tropical planet with a warm sun and a nice breeze.
He sat in his room. It was of a spartan desin, there was the basic bed, desk, chair, night stand, and dresser. They were all plain colored and blended in with the walls. The room was clean and his personal items, of which there wern't many, were in their proper place. The only thing about the room that he thought was interesting was the large transparasteel window that showed a decent view of the city scape. The large towers reaching for the stars but not yet touching them. It was a marvel of engineering to behold and he often wondered how old each building was or how old the various sections of the city were. No matter how glorious some people think that the city planet of Coruscant was he couldn't help but wonder what the planet was like before the buildings took over. Was it like home? He would often wonder, thinking back to his pre Youngling yeras when he used to go running into the forest that surrounded their family estate. But he knew that no one really knew and that even in the extensive libraries of the Republic such information was lost over time.
He looked at the sky and noticed that it was getting late. He removed his cloak and did a couple sets of stretches. When he was done he opened his dresser and pulled out a wooden box that was his last masters gifrt to him. Carefully he handled the beautifully glossed container and glided his hands across the etched in engraving of the Jedi Order Symbol. He sat on the floor, the duracrete cold even through his clothing, and set the box gently before him. Opeing the container slowly he then pulled out it's contents. There was a holo recording of his master that he set to the far left. He pulled our a couple of orange crystals, still left even after he already had one set into his lightsaber, and placed them to his right. Then there was the Jedi Madallion, that was once his masters, and he placed that in the center. The last thing that was left was a decent sized diamond. This diamond was the most important possesion that was in the box. It was common knowledge that a tradition for Corellians to be cremated and then the ashes were compressed into a diamond using artificial gravity generators. The diamond that he placed ontop of the medallion was in fact his Masters remains.
Once everything was set out he crossed his legs and closed his eyes. He focused on where he was at the moment in his life. It was a cross roads of sorts with no directions on which way he should go. He imagined himself on a dirt road deep in a forest surrounded by trees. The sun just breaching the horizon was waking up the local wildlife as the chirps of birds started to fill the air. The rays of the sunlight illuminated a thin layer of morning fog and gave light to the cross roads that he stood in the middle of. Before him was a old wodden sign with two large boards pointing in both directions. These boards were suppose to show him what each path was but upon them there was nothing written. He knew that this would be his own decision. He looked down both paths to see what lay further down but the fog thickened up and pretty soon he couldn't see down either road. Turning to look where he came from and the fog was absent. "Master, what am I to do?" He spoke out hoping that a reply would come from the forest surrounding him but nothing responded but the breeze in the trees and the sounds of life awakening.
