Name: Vesperian Draikwood (prefers to be called Vesper)
Age: 21
Species: Human
Gender: Male
Height: 5’11
Weight: 120lb
Homeworld: Ando Prime
Faction: Jedi
Rank: Knight
Personality: Vesperian is either a highly skilled Jedi or and very lucky one, depending on your point of view. He however would say that he is just skilled and luck has no place around him. Drive, focus and determination are all characteristics that he embodies. He is a naturally confident person seeing success rather than failure in all his endeavours. His unflinching confidence in himself is only less than his blind faith in his skills as Jedi .
Vesper, although a Jedi carries a distinctly dark aura around with him, which he wears like a badge of honour upon his chest. He thinks of it as mark of an inquisitive mind and a constant reminder of the responsibility that knowledge brings.
Whereas some Jedi purely see right and wrong Vesper takes a more pragmatic view of things. Nothing in the universe is just simply right or wrong and he likes to traverse the shades of grey between them. Leading him dangerously close to the dark side of the force.
Even though he is a Jedi many within the order regard him as a reckless one, who, antagonises situations as if hooked on the thrill a being forced to draw his lightsaber and the rush of adrenaline it gives. It is said that out of the many options a Jedi has, diplomacy is an art that he rarely even remembers, let alone uses.
As a person Vesperian seems level headed enough, calm, charismatic and somewhat friendly. When he speaks his voice carries an underling feeling of genuine warmth and caring for those he comes in contact with.
Appearance:
Vesper has a light auburn hair crowning the top of his slender frame but close up his hair is more like dark blonde threads than auburn ones. He has deep green eyes that shine when the light catches them and 1 earring in his right ear. He has a toned body with long arms and legs.
Background: Far from having an astounding upbringing full of adventure and mishaps which would later form the person Vesperian Draikwood, Vesper had a very simple upbringing in the home of his loving parents on Ando Prime. He was the second of three children and the only male. The family consisted of his father Licxs, his mother Hamlean and his two sisters Tamara and Jessop.
His mother and father were both force sensitive descending from long lines of force sensitive humans. Although neither side of the family had particularly strong connection to the force. Vesper however showed from a young age a great sensitivity to the ever changing ways of the force. More so than either one of his sisters.
Aged 4 he was taken by Master Tok'Chemin, an aging Twi'lek male who had little patience for uncooperative children that screamed for hours on end to the Jedi temple on Courascant. After what seemed a lifetime for the old knight they reacehd Courascant where, Vesper began his formal training in the ways of the Jedi. To say that he was reluctant to begin with was an understatement. The world of the force, Jedi and lighsabers had held no appeal to him at this tender age. The world of toys and friends back on Ando Prime seemed far more inviting. As with all younglings leaving home for the first time, Vesper suffered from the usual water works. Once they passed however he decided to make the best of the situation and threw himself into his training.
As it turned out, he was a very good student and was quickly able to pick up things taught to him by the instructors.
In particular he excelled in lightsaber training and Jedi history. During his years as youngling instructors often commented on his high potential but also on his lack of self control and discipline.
Aged ten, he was taken on as an apprentice by Master Der’kr Jo Yu a Kel Dorian master. His apprenticeship was not an easy one.
To this day he still does not thinking fondly of his master and the years that they spend together like most knights do. He make a point of avoiding his former master as much as possible, such is dislike for him. He often wonders why the council saw fit to partner the two of them together. He and his master were, even at that time when they were first joined, complete polar opposites in almost every single way.
At the time of his apprenticeship he was still young and foolish and very susceptible to the dark side. He had frequent and heated disagreements with his master on a near daily basis.
He would disobey his master’s orders on missions, trusting in his own ability and judgement rather than the knowledge and experience of his elder.
He would also disappear for days on end where he would train and study in solitude. It was on one of these trips to the force sensitive locations he had encountered during his travels, but had been unable to stop off due to his belligerent master, that he stumbled upon ancient Sith texts. The texts took him days to decipher and with their darkside aura masking him from his master he was able to work in peace. If his Master had known, the potential knowledge he gained from the text would surely have been lost, without even being looked upon. Yet another force relic lost to the ages.
He studied and learned from the texts in secret and slowly the darkside began to taint him. By the time he realised what was happening to him, it was too late, but he managed to hide his new dark aura from his master and carried on his training. Although tainted the text gave him a greater understanding of the Sith and dark Jedi. He lost much of the Jedi aura but in return he gained of knowledge of Sith and dark Jedi lightsaber techniques. Subsequently his techniques with the different forms progress exponentially.
Over the years, his relationship with his master did not greatly improve. He was forced to tone down his rebellious streak, as to not draw attention to his acquired traits. Although often he found himself disagreeing with his master choices he would not openly voice his opinions. However, the years of experience that he had gained from numerous missions and the few pearls of wisdom, however small and infrequently they had come crafted him into a Jedi. The years of training culminated in Dol’firan mission on Bespin where, he and his master were ambushed by bounty hunters while, trying to arrest a crime syndicate boss.
His master was captured.
Vesper only just avoided being taken by jumping blindly from a tibanna gas platform and trusting in the force. He later hit a cloud car far below the cloud line otherwise, he would surely have perished.
Vesper, going against the direct orders of the Jedi council, engaged in Sector wide hunt for his master. This resulting in him being pursued by Jedi master Zan-Oph Dvise and his padawan Shiro, who had been ordered to return him to the temple. During the course of his year long search Vesper, did many things to get the information he needed to find his master. Many of which went against the teachings of the Jedi and drewing him dangerously close to the dark side. He however did not fall to the dark side and eventually managed to rescue his master returning him to the Temple. For this he feet was allowed to take the Knights trials, even though many Jedi and a large minority on the council questioned the decision. Vesper passed the trials and shortly before his 21 birthday became a Knight.

“ Backlash Cantina.“ Vesperian’s green eyes glanced down at the small blood-spattered piece of paper that rested in the palm of his hand. Then up, through the thick grey gas that billowed out of the waste works and over the heads of the many people that mingled and throng around in the busy street. Far in the distance thick neon lettering that adorned a small sign that stood above a hole in the ground. He watched the red lights shine brightly, reflected in glasswindow panes and the murky puddles of water, that had filled the potholes in the street. His eyes slowly returned to the shaky letters scrawled across the bloody paper. He leaned back, his head and body safely withdrawn behind the solid wall of a residential sky scraper, out of sight from the club.
This was the place, or so he had been so freely told by a small time mobster on Corusant. He looked down at his raw knuckles, their redness telling an entirely different tale of how he managed to acquire the information. He curled up his hand and placed the shred of paper back in his pocket, replacing it with a small electronic telescope. He leaned back out again putting the eyepeice to his right eye. The green cross hairs swirled and then focused as the invisible laser that the device sent out bounced off the sign. It took a few seconds before the distance being measured registered on the scope.
“75 feet” flashed in the bottom cornered of the screen. Vesper returned the tool to his pocket. Force stepping threw the crowds was possibility. He could easily cover the distance. It would only take him a matter of moments but it did not leave much room for the other variables. He could not swing his lightsabers around left, right and centre with so many people about if a fight broke out. He was certain that Malakor knew he was coming otherwise that Rodain bounty hunter would not have been waiting for him at the spaceport.
He sighed, slumping back against the wall and running a hand through his auburn hair. Four moons had passed since Bespin .The first two moons had been tough trying to find even the slightest bit of information about his master s whereabouts. Even finding those who might know where he could get information leading to people that might be able to help him had been tough. The dredges of society were not the most sociable people in the universe and they were definitely not Jedi friendly.
Then it had got even worse when, just over two moons ago, the council had sent a master Zan-Oph Dvise and Shiro after him to return him to the temple. He could feel all the running and the creeping through the shadows had taken their toll on him. For the first time, he did not just feel weariness in his body and weariness in his mind. He now felt weariness in his spirit. His will to continue, not only with this self imposed quest but with the whole Jedi concept, was beginning to crack. His ability to listen to the force had diminished as if it were a voice drifting further and further way. Now, it was only a faint whisper carried by the wind to his hard pressed ears.
A small bead of water trickled from the top of his head down across his face. The pitter patter of rain hitting the ground grew ever louder and the first droplet of water was soon followed by more.
The beating of the rain grew steadily and the people quickly began leaving the streets and heading for cover. Only Vesperian remained, partially sheltered by the wall.
Soon, the streets were empty and the earth had begun to turn into a sodden mulch beneath his feet. Once more; he peered round the corner. Four people remained two humans, one Echani and one Ryn, all of who were carrying at least 1 blaster apiece. He watched as the two humans talked to each other in low voices while the other two stood a fair distance away totally disinterested in what the humans were talking about.
Slowly, he drew one of his lightsabers off his back. He could feel his breathing becoming shallow, laboured with the thought of what he was about to do. He could feel the hard, heavy thumping of his heart within his chest growing faster and faster as he ignited the blade and threw it.
The white blade whistled as it span, the eerie sound of death carried through the air. The two humans couldn’t react in time and the blade sliced through both of their necks. Their limp corpses fell motionless to the ground.
There were only two left now and by the time they had reacted to the death of their comrades, Vesper was almost upon them. Both opened fire, unloading a hail of blaster fire towards him. Vesper, staying low to the ground, drew his second saber and deflected the shots way for his body with swift, sweeping motions. One laser came towards him and he deflected it over the shoulder of the crouching Echani and went straight into the chest of the big Ryn.
The Echaini had never stood a chance on his own and Vesper dispatched him quickly with a diagonal slash running from the left shoulder to the right side of his waist.
He stopped, panting over the dead Echain as more rain traversed his face. With the flick of his left wrist, the lightsaber he had thrown flew back into his outstretched hand. He started to walk towards the steps that led far into the darkness below. He suddenly stopped in midstride, his foot hanging in the air. He paused, trying to sense the waves of the force. Quickly, he dived down to his left, rolling across the muddy earth. The blaster fire hissed loudly as the mud where Vesper had been fizzed and crackled, quickly drying from its wet state. Vesper thrust out his hand directing it at an eighth floor window high up in the residential building that towered over the entrance to the club. He pulled the force, bending it to his will as a human male shot out, head first through the glass pane. Vesper didn’t even wait to see him hit the ground. He was more than satisfied with the blood curdling crunch that met his ears moments later as he walked down the steps into the darkness.
