Alright, so I see the Corporate Alliance on the SWU Official map. It got me brainstorming, and I was wondering, is the CA part of the Republic?
If not, is it independent? Is it similar to the Trade Federation in nature, or more independent? Less?
Also, would it be possible for me to RP the Magistrate (HoS of the CA)? If so, would he be considered a civilian? What if he had force powers?
I know it's a huge wave of sporadic questions, but meth is a hell of a drug...
Just kidding about that, I'm totally drug free.

The Corporate Alliance is an NPC faction, much like the Hutt Empire. Essentially this means that they're controlled by the admins for use in the plot, allowing them to create and structure events/happenings in the galaxy.
Much like with the Hutts, there is a plan for the CA a little ways down the line.
In terms of their standing in the galaxy, they are strictly speaking a Republic Commerce Guild, but with the Republic's economic decline over the past decades, the Corporate Alliance has partly separated themselves from the Republic, so as not to be dragged along with them, instead its members have consolidated a lot of their interest into expanding the influence of the Corporate Alliance so that they might have continuous financial success despite the state of the Republic.
