Name: Adamus Cronus
Race: Human
Age: 23
Height: 6'2" (1.8m)
Weight: 160 (72.6 Kg)
Appearance:
Adamus is quite a young faced Human, though he ages at around 23 he doesn't look much older than 18. His has an average build that one could expect from a Jedi, well built but thin enough to allow for acrobatic movements and speedy evasion techniques. He has hazel brown eyes that are of fairly average size. The eyebrows above them are naturally thinish, and a deep dark brown colour, the same as his short tidily kept hair. His hair however is only like this as it is required of a Padawan, he has his Padawan braid hanging from the right side of his head. If it was up to him he'd have lmedium length hair.
His skin tone is fairly pale, he has hardly ever left Coruscant, which isn't particularily the best place to get a tan in the galaxy. As for what clothes he wears, he doesn't have a lot of choice in the matter. Everyday he can be seen in the customary robes of the Jedi Order, a pair of dark brown boots, loose beige trousers and inner robe, the outer robe, drapes to the ground and has a hood attached, is light brown in colour and fits Adamus almost perfectly.
Birth place: Coruscant
Faction: Jedi
Rank: Padawan
Bio: Adamus Cronus was born into a well off family in the upper levels of society on the planet of Coruscant in the Core Systems. He was well appreciated by his mother who loved him with intensity, however his father was not so receptive of Adamus. Unknown to him at the time Adamus had an older brother who was killed by gang members in the lower levels of Coruscant. His father loved Adamus' brother strongly, and his death sent him into a deep depression, he felt Adamus was just a cheap replacement of his older brother, and never fully accepted him. He was home schooled wholly by his mother, gaining a general knowledge of Mathematics, Galactic Basic, Politics and the importance of doing the right thing when the oppertunity presented itself. As time went by Adamus grew closer to his mother and became more distant from his father, as did his parent's relationship. They would often argue, which soon escalated to violence where he would abuse both Adamus and his mother. This went on for a full 2 cycles, until Adamus reached the age of 6.
It started off as an argument about money the family had left in their account. Adamus' father accussed his mother of buying luxuries and items for their "worthless son". His mother couldn't accept her child being talked to in such a way. What her husband had become disgusted her, and she began to hate everything about him. In a bout of surprisingly aggressive fury, his mother lashed out at Adamus' father, cutting him with a knife from the cutlery set. Feeling threatened his Father reached for a blaster in one of the drawers. In his anger of her embracing their illegitimate son, he unleashed his hate in the form of a blaster bolt, which hit Adamus' mother straight in the head, killing her instantly. It took his father a few moments to realise what he'd done, and as it finally sunk in he rushed over to Adamus' mother, holding her in his arms, sobbing. From the stairs going up adamus heard and saw the entire thing. Caring nothing for his father and following what his mother had taught him he made for the nearest comm terminal and called for the Coruscant Security services. The security services soon arrived and held Adamus' father for murder, but couldn't charge him without sufficient evidence.
The Coruscant security services called in help from the Jedi Order, the keepers of Peace and Justice in the galaxy, to investigate the matter. With his father being a high ranking aristocrat it was treated as an incredibly serious affair, which could ruin his career. During his father's questioning it was there he met the Jedi Master Tlaas Nuruk, and his friend Jedi Knight Neer'Ol Nohbaar. The two Jedi were assigned to discovering all they could about what had actually happened. At some point they ended up asking Adamus what exactly had happened. It's safe to say he told them the full truth. They nearly had enough information to convict his father, but they were missing the murder weapon. While the Jedi searched, Adamus thought back to what he saw a few nights before, when his father killed him mother. There was no recollection of him seeing the blaster being discarded. But he did feel something when he concentrated. It felt like a sort of connection between him and something close by, something he felt like he had a strong tie with to although there was no way to be sure what it was. Adamus kept his eyes closed, as he walked, forward, subconciously toward whatever it was he had a connection with. He had no idea what was driving or how he was getting there but it was like he was walking down a mental tunnel with only one way to go. Like someone or something was constantly pushing him in the right direction. As Adamus opened his eyes when he stopped walking he was met with the sight of a wall panel, infront of him. Curious as to how he got here, he looked around only to see the two Jedi stood side by side, watching him. Feeling somewhat intimidated, he closed his eyes and concentrated once again. The connection felt so much stronger now, like it was incredibly close by, and minutes seemed to pass as his hands went to work. His concentration was suddenly broken as he felt himself touch cold metal. Opening his eyes, somewhat reluctantly, he was met with the sight of a blaster pistol in his hands, still in the wall panel. He looked around at the Jedi again, they were looking at him with faces of sheer curiosity. Adamus then looked to his left, seeing his father looking at him with eyes of pure fear, fear that his son would expose him. He had a choice to make. Expose the father who never loved him, or lie to himself, the Jedi and his mother. For a 6 year old child it was a tough decision to make on his own. That was when he began to remember what his mother had told him. The only person who ever loved Adamus would have wanted him to have done the right thing. Not only for her, but also for himself and to see that his father would never hurt anyone again. Despite the feelings of hate he had for his father, he wasn't doing it for that, he was doing it because of the morals his mother taught him. Adamus, pulled the blaster from the wall and walked straight up to the Jedi Master, who kneeled down to him to take the gun from him. Smiling to Adamus, he ruffled his short brown hair before gesturing for the security forces to take his father away. Adamus was now an orphan.
Things didn't exactly turn out the way Adamus wanted. He just wanted to be able to get on with his life, but without a family now it made him difficult for him. Even at the young age he was he already had a life plan set out for himself. But it never seemed to fit that way. The Jedi Master took him to a quiet spot of the house, away from the Coruscant Security forces, where there was only Adamus, Tlaas, and Neer'Ol in the same room. Tlaas began to explain what happened to Adamus when he was guided to the Blaster. Adamus would never forget what he heard, even being so young.
"My young friend, you felt yourself guided by something didn't you? Like a tunnel you could only move one way down, you don't remember doing the things you did. Yet you did somehow. That is what we Jedi call the Force, my lad. The Force is an energy field created by all living things, that surrounds and penetrates us. It is the raw material that binds the galaxy together. And you, Adamus, you can control it. You don't know it, you can't focus it strongly enough, but it's within you, building with each moment of your life. I can sense it within you. If you let me take a blood sample I can take you with us, you can have another family, a family that will take care of you and make you into a great man. Will you trust us?"
The man, the Jedi, he was offering a new family so soon. And Adamus couldn't understand how he had gotten these powers. He had never done anything wrong in his life, nor had he done anything particularily good. He always seemed to be such a normal child, never being discernable from a crowd of children. What made him so special. But Adamus trusted them for some reason. He felt strangely connected to the two, like he had seen them before. He knew he hadn't but he could feel a connection between him and both the Jedi. Adamus had no other option, it was either this or a Coruscant orphanage, he felt like he was being pushed towards the Jedi. Perhaps it was the Force working through him he thought. But he was still much to young to understand anything of that sort, yet. Unbeknownst to him, but Force Sensitive Children on Coruscant were supposed to be detected at birth and raised through a government program. His mother had arranged for him not to be taken, not wanting that kind of life for her child. Adamus never found this out, but he wanted to become a Jedi for himself, and because he thought it was right. If he knew, he'd've known that his mother would have respected that.
The journey to the temple was short, it wasn't an entire planet away or something poetic like Adamus expected, instead it was on the very same planet he had been on all the time: Coruscant. As they arrived Adamus was rendered speechless and awestruck by the sheer magnificence of the Jedi Temple. It was a huge building, 4 times the size of any other Coruscant building he had ever seen, and much better decorated. Huge statues ordained the outer Temple, and smaller ones honoured the inside. He had no time to stand and star however, the council were waiting to meet him and hopefully recognise his potential. To the young Adamus the council were an intimidating bunch. Long necked figures eyed him with curiosity, small creatures sat in their chairs, draped in brown robes stroking their blue and green chins. Though Adamus would never be so disrespectful to announce his intimidation out loud. Again words were spoken that he would never forget.
"Master Nuruk, Knight Nohbarr, your success with the investigation allows us to feel comfortable knowing a powerful, dangerous man such as him has been brought to justice. But you bring a Human child before us... Why is this?" Said one of the council members, speaking aloud, as if addressing the entire temple.
"Yes, pray tell us. Who is this child?" Added a female Council member seated on the far left.
"I apologize to the council for bringing this boy before you, unannounced, but if it was not for the child, we would still be trying to solve this murder. This boy is in actuallity the murderer's son. I saw him with my own eyes, he was guided by the Force, guided to find the Murder weapon and bring his own father to justice, he told me he did it because he thought it was right. For a child this young, he seems to have incredibly developed moral senses. And that aside he does appear to be highly Force sensitive. His Midichlorian count is relatively high, and roughly the same amount as mine. I believe he should be considered for training."
The withered old alien stood up from his seat and eyed Adamus up like some sort of test subject in a lab. He didn't seem at all hostile towards him, he just appeared to be checking him somehow. The alien councillor let out an interested "hmmm" before retaking his seat.
"You are correct Master Nuruk, I do sense The Force in the child, and it does seem to be a strong presence. But I also sense something else deep down. A strange equilibrium, a balance, no senses of love, nor are there senses of hate. This is the kind of equilibrium I would expect to feel in someone already in our order. To achieve this state so early is a powerful thing." The alien turned from Master Nuruk to Adamus "What is your name child?" He said, as a strange smile appeared on his face.
"I'm Adamus Cronus. I'm 6 years old. It's nice to meet you."
The councillor stroked his chin for a moment before looking to each one of the other councillors seated in the circle around Adamus. They each nodded to the alien as he looked at them. As the last one nodded a smile once again arose on the old alien's face and he turned to Master Nuruk. "The request is granted. You may train young Adamus. May the Force be with you."
For the next 8 years Adamus would undergo simple training in the ways of the Force and the use of a lightsaber that most Younglings underwent. His advantage over the younglings however was that he had a master already at his young age. While most other younglings were trained in groups by a single master, Adamus recieved that kind of training one-to-one with Master Nuruk. This allowed him to quickly understand his mistakes and better himself for them, making it both a lot easier for him and his Master. He showed good potential for telekinesis through the force at a very young age, and was complimented on his speed and precision with a lightsaber. As time went by Adamus developed an immensely strong bond with Master Nuruk, he appeared to be the father figure that Adamus never had in his earlier childhood, but now everything he did was so that Nuruk would be proud of him.
By the age of 14 Master Nuruk felt that Adamus was ready to go on his first mission. It was a simple infiltration mission, assigned to him by the council. They were to go to Ossus and assertain what exactly the Sith knew of the Jedi in a new excavation site that had just opened up. A tough mission to undergo, there would undoubtably Sith Scholars there, which probably mean't there would be Dark Jedi. Master Nuruk had no trouble accepting the assignment but he felt that Adamus was too young to be exposed to the horrors of the Sith at the moment. The council decreed that either both of them go, or none of them go and the mission remained untaken. In the end Nuruk reluctantly agreed to take Adamus with him to Ossus.
Upon their arrival on the atmosphere-less planet, they took on the identity of travellers, father and son, who were seeking new parts to their ship. The place they landed seemed to be an interior port with atmosphere, and tubes branching from the starport to various uncovered Jedi ruins They used the oppertunity of cover to sneak into some of the Jedi ruins, the newly uncovered ones, to be exact. And started to try and discover what happened in the ruins. Adamus was tasked with watching Master Nuruk's back as he ventured into the deeper part of the ruins with the numorous Sith Scholars. The area was wide open and completely visible, it wasn't hard for Adamus to keep an eye on Nuruk. He wasn't sure what happened down in the open ruins but it appeared like a fight broke out, blaster bolts were constantly being directed towards Nuruk. He had no trouble deflecting them, but Adamus felt like he should go up to help his Master. He heard a voice in his head as he revealed himself from cover. It was Master Nuruk's voice, telling him:
"No! Stay where you are, I sense something odd here. Do not move."
Adamus heeded his Master's words as he shrunk back down to his hiding spot. Moments later, his Master's words were revealed to be correct. Several Dark Jedi lept from their hiding spots in the darker areas of the ruins, and though Master Nuruk put up a good fight, the sheer overwhelming force of the Dark Jedi over powered him and sent him slumping to the floor. The last word he heard in his head was "Run." He never heard another thing from Master Nuruk in his head, it might have been because he wasn't listening, or it was because he had died. Regardless Adamus heeded his Master's words and ran. With all the speed he had he darted down the corridors of the Spaceport, dodging the large amount of Sith soldiers he had accumulated on his back, after breaking his cover. He made it finally to the ship, but it was then it struck him he had no knowledge of how to pilot a ship. There was only one thing he could do.Like what he did, 8 years ago, he closed his eyes and thought of Master Nuruk. He allowed the Force to flow through him and guide him to do what he could not. He closed his eyes for several hours, his hands only feeling the control of the ship the entire time. He opened his eyes as he felt his hands lift from the controls, looking outside the window of the ship he found himself at the Jedi Temple, on Coruscant, he looked in sheer amazement at the sight, something in his mind tugging at how he managed to get here. The thoughts soon faded however as he collapsed from the sheer exhaustion of depending on the Force for so long.
After reporting what happened to the Council, Adamus felt himself drawing ever more on the Jedi Code for comfort after the death of his Master and Father-figure. He constantly forced the words "There is no emotion; There is peace" and "There is no death; There is the Force" through his mind over and over again. He would never show what he was feeling to the others at the temple, but he would almost constantly be thinking about it. Over time adamus accepted the loss and knew that his Master would not want him to dwell on it. It would make him proud for him to know Adamus had overcome it. Adamus waited for a long time for himself to be taken on by another Master. It seemed to go on forever even though it was only half a year that he waited. No one could replace Master Nuruk, but he needed someone else who could help further his training. That was when an old friend of Nuruk's surfaced. Now a Master of the order the man he had met 8 years ago, Neer'Ol Nohbaar, had returned from finishing the training of one of his Padawans, to accept Adamus as his new Padawan, feeling he owed it to Master Nuruk, who saw so much potential in Adamus. The Council was pleased to accept this new pairing and in secret witnessed the great pain that Adamus had overcome at the loss of his Master. To them they believed he had already passed the Trial of the Flesh.
In the 7 years that followed Adamus only improved his skills even more, with both his lightsaber and his Force usage. He learned how to be able to regenerate his wounds at an enhanced speed. He learned how to use the Force to speed up his own reactions and movements all through rigorous training at the hands of his new Master. He felt that unlike Nuruk, Master Nohbaar was making him into the best soldier he could be. Even though it felt good to know that he was good at these things, it didn't seem to feel quite... "right" almost like in someway he was forgoing the traditions in favour of becoming a warrior, and not a keepr of the peace like he should be. Adamus never however complained to his Master about this kind of thing. He was much to respectful of the fact he had chosen him, and was putting so much time and effort into making Adamus a worthy member of the Jedi Order. With the increase in his amount of skill Adamus found himself and his Master accepting much more missions from the Council.
At the age of 21, the pair went on a mission to Zeltros to stop a Sith Incursion there. The Sith were well entrenched and incredibly large in number. Though the odds of their survival were slim, the pair accepted that the battle would be much easier if they could shut down the Droid Control Systems in the camp. Master Nohbaar would distract the Sith forces by fighting their outer defences. While Adamus would daringly sneak around the flank, and destroy the Droid Control Systems, making the battle much easier. Unexpectedly however there were defences around the Droid Control Systems, which Adamus found himself having to defeat. It wasn't an easy battle, as it put all of Adamus' skills to the test. He used his control over the Force to affect his speed which allowed him to attack surprisingly. His telekinetic powers, which he now had a great control over, allowed him to crush the inner workings. At no point did he need to use his powers of speeding his natural regeneration, for which Adamus was fairly thankful. He did however, after quite a battle, manage to destroy the Droid Control Systems, shutting down the droid soldiers, and making the battle for the pair a lot easier. After a few more minutes the last of the Sith were suppressed and the incursion's commanding force was finished. The Sith on Zeltros has been stopped, as the planet's security forces managed to defeat the other scattered forces with the main command centre now disconnected from them, and their droid soldiers rendered useless. When reported back to the Council the pair were commended for keeping the peace on Zeltros, and once again, the Council agreed that Adamus' daring actions there counted towards his Trial of Courage. He was halfway to becoming a Knight.
A few more mundane missions followed this one, none offering the same excitement that Zeltros did, but they helped give Adamus a greater sense of tactical thinking and leadership skills, while also improving his combat skills with a lightsaber against people armed with blaster rifles. Eventually things, seemed to be shaping up. Shortly after turning 23, his Master informed Adamus that they were going on a mission to Korriban. Although he never heard anything from the Council, he trusted his Master and followed him to the area on Korriban where the mission was supposed to be. Apparantley they were supposed to be finding a source of inbalance in the Force. The whole thing stunk to Adamus, he thought it was a wild goose chase, and he wasn't far off. Not long after landing, Master Nohbaar turned around to Adamus and began to speak. Words that once again Adamus would never forget.
"Adamus, do you know why I've brought you here?"
"What do you mean, Master? I thought this was a mission from the Council..."
"No, Adamus, the Council don't know about this... There is no imbalance in the Force here. A crooked smile arose on Nohbaar's Twi'lek mouth.
"I knew there was something odd about this... Well, what are we here for Master?" Adamus said, feeling rather unnerved by the odd, out-of-place smile that arose on his Master's face.
"The Jedi Council are weak Adamus, I've known this for longer than you can think... Adamus, I brought you here, so that we can leave the Jedi and join the "Dark" Jedi. They understand the true concept of what we should do with our powers. We shouldn't use them to help people, they were given to us so we could be great."
Adamus began to run things through his head, images of what his life could be like if he wasn't so restrained by morals and codes, if he could be truly free to express his own power, and use it for himself. Master Nohbaar outstretched his hand, to offer this oppertunity to him. The oppertunity of power. Adamus' hand twitched moving closer to take his hand, then it was that something occured to him, and he instantly closed his eyes. Images and words flew through his head, memories of his mother, memories of his first master. They both appeared to him, mentally. He remembered what his Mother told him: "Always do the right thing", and what his Master said. "Temptation will come to us all, but it's up to us how we deal with it. It's our choice, whether we do the right thing, or fail ourselves and give into the corruption inside."
Instantly Adamus reopened his eyes. retracting his arm fully. He stared at his former Master, square in the eye. He didn't need to say anything at all, the stare of disappointment Adamus gave Nohbaar said it all. Nohbaar withdrew his Green Lightsaber from his cloak, and reflexively Adamus did the same, lifting his Blue saber from his belt and igniting it. For not a single moment did Adamus believe that he could win, as the two sabers clashed. He concentrated not on the possible outcomes, but instead what he was doing. He channeled all his control over the Force into increasing his reflex times and speed of swings, but that only seemed to bring him on a par with his Master. As he fought for his very life, Adamus could still hear the words of his true Master in his head. The words, encouraging him, telling him to better himself, telling him he had the drive and will to do anything he wanted to. Taking his Masters words to heed he focused every single piece of his mind into the battle, every clash was a thousand thoughts, and with a series of several precision strikes from Adamus, he felt his saber collide with flesh. Removing his gaze from his former Master's eyes he looked at what he had guided his lightsaber to do. It had gone straight through his saber hand, disarming him. Nohbaar collapsed to his knees in pain. Adamus didn't waste any time in attaching a powerful neural disrupter to the distraught traitorous Master. The disrupter sent him into a near comatose state, and Adamus lifted him up onto his shoulder, carrying him back to the ship.
