Any other fans?
I just recently found my AoE I disk... and am rather unashamably re-addicted to it. ;p Last weekend I was up past 6:30 a.m. playing a game... (To be fair, though, I didn't start it till after 4 a.m.)
Though, to be fair, I like AoE II better, but I don't have a copy of that at the moment...
And the third one, was just weird. (Though, to be honest, I only played a demo of III).

*Does the Monk Dance* Woolololololo~! I've converted your AoE disk~! XD
"So you have come to hear the tale of Frederick Barbarossa?"
I'm more of an AoE 2 fan. I was just at elementary school when it went out. *sigh* good times.
AoE 3 wasn't my thing, since it wasn't as historical as AoE 2. But the expansions were nice. ;D

Yeah, I loved II, with the jaguar warriors (I think?) and all that.
III was just weird with having to go back to the mother ship to upgrade things. But I did only play a demo. Maybe there was to do it than that. ;p
But the first one will always hold a special place. Besides... I have a bit of a thing for Greek history, so I like playing as the Greeks. ;p
I have to admit, though, playing the campaigns instead of a random map, I totally suck at it. ;p

The mothership thing is just in the campaign. The skirmish mode still has the standard "Town Center". But yeah, I only play strategy games for the Campaigns. XD
I think the series advances in era with each release. 1 was based on the bronze age, 2 was on the middle ages and 3 was during the colonial to the wild west eras.

Hmm... my demo must have just be a campaign one, then. Perhaps I'll have to look up the full version for III then. ;p It'll be fun to play as something other than Spanish or English.

"ALL HAIL! KING OF THE LOSERS!"
AoE II was my favorite. Cannon galleons were boss on island maps--take out their whole town by sea!
AoE III had amazing cannon physics, but it just didn't have the millenium-encompassing depth of its predecessors.
