Name: Cyn "Bit" Rook
Race: Human
Age: 27
Height: 5'10
Weight: 165 lbs
Birth place: Tatooine
Appearance: Bit is of average height and weight. He has spiky black hair (Occasionally dyed a different color out of boredom) and bright brown eyes. He constantly has a grin on. He normally wears neutral colored pants, a single colored shirt shirt, (Such as red, white, black, ext.) and finally, black jacket with red stripes going down the sleves, which he won when he was in the Pilot's academy.
His body is fairly cut for being a pilot. He isn't extremely muscular, but one can see muscle under his skin. His canine teeth are longer than average, giving him an almost devilish look when he smiles. As often as not, he has a cigarette in his mouth, sometimes lit, sometimes not.
Sense working with the exchange, whenever Bit had to deal with someone for an important job, he would wear medium grade armor in a two tone coloration, much like how he dresses. It was created using durasteel and ceramic material, much like most other armor. It lacked any real shoulder, which was a weak section of the armor. It was also quite thin around his neck, for mobility of his head. He is working on getting some different armor, but has been procrastinating getting some for a while.
Personality: Bit earned his nickname when, drunk at a party, he bit some guy, and the nickname stuck with him. He is a very easygoing, happy go lucky, fun loving and happy man. He is rarely ever sad, or shows sadness, no matter what happens to him.
At first he may seem somewhat stupid or forgetful, especially when it comes to regulations, but when it comes to piloting, there is no one better. He can quickly figure out someone's tactics when in a fight. It was a common joke around wherever he is stationed that he and his Squadron are, 'as modular as their fighters' which he doesn't deny.
Bit loves, and lives, to fly. He is most at home in the air or space, and starts to complain when he goes for more than 3 days without a little bit of flight time. He will do anything to protect his friends and squadron, including putting himself in danger. Even if he doesn't want to admit it, Bit is a bit of a womanizer. He isn't worred about paying a little bit of money for a good time. He is a sucker for pretty women, no matter the species, as long as they are close to human, such as twi'leks.

(Bit and a rival before a simulator fight)
Cyn "Bit" Rook was born on a small moisture farm on Tatooine. His childhood wasn't much to speak of. He grew up around machines and skyhoppers his family owned. His father was a large man named Clark. His mother, smaller by comparison, was named Mary. They weren't very rich, and worked hard with what workers and droids they did have.
Bit's schooling was next to nothing, living and working on a moisture farm. He learned basics of things by his mother and father, mostly by watching them, and helping with small things. By the time he was 8, he was working on moisture vaperators and learning the basics of piloting by his father.
He was also shown around a blaster at a young age as well. Tatooine was not a place for children, especially with creatures such as womp rats. It was really only basic marksmanship, but overall, Bit didn't get much real use out of blasters until he was older.
Interesting things were rare, but things still happened. What usually happened was, once a month, Jawa's would come along and try to barter with him, which his father, more times than not, would get some part, or parts, they needed, or would in the near future, if something was causing him some sort of problems, and then they would leave.
Bit went to a wedding when he was seven years old. It was uninteresting to his young mind, but he did see some people who he rarely did. Like a good child, he sat through it, not making a sound, but he was bored out of his mind. As soon as it was over, he was happy, which his parents misinterpreted as a being happy for the couple.
Trips to anchorhead were rare for the kid. Bit would go with his father occasionally when they were in need of something. It was on these trips where he began to learn how to fly, actually.
He never went to a real school, but he did get some education from his mother, who grew up on Coruscant. He never really cared about the math, history, or science she tried to teach him, and would much rather spend his time building things out of scrap parts, fixing machinery, or, his favorite pastime, flying.
By the time he was 15, Bit was starting to know his way around the pilots seat fairly well, and already being set up to take over the farm from his family. He didn't really care for it, and almost forced his younger brother of two years, John, to start to learn the finer parts of running the show on Tatooine, leaving Bit do do what he loved most.
About six months after his 15th birthday, Bit and a few of his friends were up to no good, more than usual, which earned them a bit of trouble with some slavers and thugs. Bit and two friends made their way into a random hanger in Anchorhead, which was where their main chill-spot was, and was just looking around. When no one was looking, they broke the electronic lock on a small-ish door of a large transport crate, and a few people came rushing out. They had a hungered look, and when no one stopped them when they ran out, they just took off.
One of the slaver's though, seen what had happened, and yelled out. Bit and his friends booked it, the slaver right on their heels. Bit, who was at the rear, pushed over a barrel of... something explosive, as the man shot at them with his blaster, which hit the barrel and exploded. But caught the shockwave, which knocked him to his feet, but he got right back up and kept running.
They didn't stop until they were to Bit's skyhopper and half way back to his family's estate. When they arrived, the story exploded, was revised, and they made themselves seem like hero's. No one believed them, and eventually the story was forgotten.
At 16, he was sent off to Corellia for a program put on by the Republic for children to earn a future for themselves. A group of Republic soldiers were on Tatooine looking for anyone who met the criteria for a new Military school. Bit was one of them, and he was shipped off tho the new military school. Upon showing up for the Academy there, he was shown, of course, to be an expert, highly adaptable pilot. He would be after flying for years already. He wasn't though, the best out there, as there was always room for improvement.
Bit, at first, was almost constantly in trouble, mainly for his mannerism and uniform. He would constantly be seen out of reds, and not show much professionalism. How he wasn't kicked out was even a mystery to him, but somehow he managed to stay in. After a year at least, he did show to be more mature and professional, so it all worked out.
Cyn learned how to pilot multiple ships that the Republic used, from helming corvettes and other large crafts to small interceptors. He excelled at these smaller crafts, and that's exactly what his focus was on. Of course, everything was simulated, and he never had the chance to pilot any actual things besides mock-ups and training fighters. There was one specific fighter that he felt a strong pull towards: the Varia-class multirole fighter. For him, the modular capabilities that made up the fighter was perfect, and, after looking at a mission, was able to pic out what would be the best layout for the mission, even if it wasn't recommended by his superiors.
Piloting wasn't the only thing Bit, as well as everyone else, was shown. As there was always a possibility of being shot down on a planet, everyone had to know their way around a blaster, and get regular time in. Once a standard Quarter, everyone would spend a week at a blaster range, working their skills back up, and maintaining them.
At the age of 17, with a year left at the Academy, Bit was given control over a flight in the training Squadron he was in. He excelled at moving his flight around like chess pieces, at least in the sim runs. When they started doing force on force training, he and his flight also scored in the top 10 in K/D ratio's for the entire Academy, which was excellent. His squadron was ranked in the top 5, and earned the nickname 'Wolfpack Squadron'. This brought pride to everyone.
The unity in the squadron was amazing. They always joked, messed around, and had fun. Bit's i-don't-care attitude usually made him easy to spot anywhere: that, and is out-of-regs uniform style. Bit did get himself and whoever was with him into trouble at times, such as picking fights with people who were better at flying than him. His cocksure attitude wouldn't let him back off or give up when he was set to loose. Some times it would pay off, most of the times when his side won, it was by chance or luck. More than half the time, though, they lost. He didn't care though, because to him, each fight was fun, and a learning experience.
A few months before the graduation date, Wolfpack Squadron was to make a simple easy, four point hyperspace route to three uninhabited systems then back to base. Bit was to plot the course for the third leg. The first two legs went smoothly, but the third leg, the one Bit plotted, put them right into a firefight between pirates and two freighters. They were armed with only training cannons, so they weren't able to help in this chance meeting. Before they could turn tail and run, the pirates struck out at the fighters, destroying two of their fighters before the rest managed to escape into hyperspace. Bit received minor damage, but other than that, was fine. He never truly forgave himself for the deaths of his teammates.
Just after he turned 18, the 100 or so members of the class graduated and were shipped of to their actual training units. Because they had basic training in piloting and tactics with the military program, but even if they they were ahead of the game in their training cycle, they had to go through like everyone else.
For a year, Bit tore through pilot school, watching as his fellow peers, including those who he knew for years, failed out. Twice, he almost did as well, but managed to power through it. After more than a year, he was one of the new graduating pilots, and was shipped off to his new unit.
Bit was, once again, a simple untested Ensign in the Republic Navy, and that meant he had little trust and next to no responsibilities. That also meant the most free time for him. About two months after getting to his assigned unit, a Squadron on station at Iri. Being here, he would obviously get into the party mood. He had too much to drink one night, and it led into a fight. When someone tried to get him into a headlock, he bit down hard on the guy's arm. He didn't know about it until the next day, and after the story started going around, he found himself being called Bit, and so started the nickname.
Besides that event, not too much happened during Bit's time in the Republic. Being in a more garrison life, as there was no war going on at this time, the entire garrison that Bit was at did nothing but training in many different scenarios that could happen, which also meant cross training with weapons that the Army had. Honestly, Bit didn't have much care for this stuff. So long as he had his blaster pistol with him, he was fine as far as he was concerned.
At the age of 20, Bit was transferred from Iri to a small garrison on Dantooine. There, he was given more responsibility than before. For the first time since his time at the Academy, Bit was given control of a flight of four fighters. Also, what made this similar to the Academy, he used the Varia-class multirole fighter. Each was able to change up what markings they wished to have on their fighter, as well as weapons for any training and missions against pirates that they came across.
Bit proved to be a capable leader, even with pressure on him, and an expert pilot in any craft, especially his Varia. He quickly learned the capabilities of his craft, and even designed some modifications to what he was able to attach, such as an external fuel pod or medium repeater cannons.
Not too long after he was shipped over here, Bit was caught drinking underage, but instead of being kicked out, he lost some rank and was barred from re-upping his contract. He didn't have too much time left in, so he shrugged it off, and just overall stopped caring.
A little over the age of 21, Bit left the Republic, as per his barred entrance. For a little while, he did his own thing: used his savings to purchase his own, old ass, beat up, Vaya-class scout from the black market, which he lived out of, and pretty much traveled the galaxy. He would often leave it with his parents and travel around with smugglers. He eventually fell into this way of life.
By the time he was 22, Bit saw quite a bit of the galaxy, and learned his way around weapons. There was more than one occasion where he and whoever he was traveling with had to shoot their way out of a situation. One of the more common people he traveled with was a large, quiet character named Ash Lightning. He also often teamed up with a Trandoshan named Kusak. It was this man who helped Bit get a new ship, eventually: His father secretly sold it black market to help pay off depts with the Hutts.
Bit had to stay on top with his weapon skills. Being outside of the ship, he needed to. If deals went bad, he had to defend himself. He often had a blaster rifle on his back or in his arms when planetside, and he did know how to use it.
A little after Bit turned 22, he and Kusak earned a hit on their head from a Hutt crimelord. They dumped a load of spice when they came under attack by Republic ships. They would never get a chance to pay it back. Two weeks after that, the Hutt was assassinated by his own guards. Bit and Kusak considered themselves lucky.
A little after turning 23, Bit and Kusak was on Dantooine when it came under attack by the Sith. Kusak's ship was impounded and him and Bit were trying to get it back when the attack happened. The space station where they were at was boarded and attacked, forcing Bit and Kusak to fight their way to Kusak's ship.
Th hanger was overflowing with Sith, and all ships that weren't Sith were blown apart to make room for Sith boarding ships. The two turned tail, heading for another hanger. It took them about 10 minutes to find a hanger that had yet to be boarded, and it had three ships in it. Bit providing covering fire, Kusak broke into the ship, and the two made it off, out-flying the Sith Forces.
Once in hyperspace, Kusak collapsed, showing a blaster wound he sustained to the side. He died a short while later, and Bit fired him out one of the airlocks and into a sun, as was he alien's last request. At this moment, Bit began his new life, doing whatever work came for him. With this new ship, which he named Archangel, he signed up with the Exchange as hired muscle and transportation for members. He would normally carry a pair of heavy blaster pistols with him, his primary having a hair trigger, and he was one of the fastest drawers in the group, due to his sharpened reflexes. His eyesight made him a decent sniper as well, which he did just as often, at least for providing cover for a meeting.
Because Bit was away from piloting on more than half of his missions, he became quite a trigger man, and picked up a decent aim. On long hyperspace trips, he would set up targets and practice with his aim. For hours, he would use a multitude of weapons, from pistols to sniper rifles, all supplied by the Exchange. In a matter of months of shooting in the hanger, he had a fairly decent aim.
It showed on one mission where he was part of a group of muscle for a higher ranking Exchange member. Him and three others were the only support this poor guy had, and when the deal went bad, they were forced to make a run for it. Being only in medium armor, Bit was forced to use his speed and agility, as well as aim, to escape. He would provide suppressing fire while his teammated ran from cover to cover.
If someone poked their head around, it would be tagged with a blaster bolt from his rifle, and down they went. Bit took a couple of shots himself, but the adrenalin in his body allowed him to shrug it off, usually with a witty comment, and trug on. Eventually, the team did make it to their shuttle, and they blasted away from the compound they were in. Bit needed a good kolto bath, but he was well, and was joking around in no time.
Bit stuck with this until he was 25, where he decided to go solo once again. His time with the Exchange allowed him to pick up new skills, but he hated to be on the leash, which seemed tighter there than it did with the Republic. He began smuggling once again, only solo work now, at least until he came up on some people who he would travel around with.
Bit's now 26, and down on his luck when his co-pilot and fellow merc left for another gig.
Password: Trouble with Tribbles.
RP Sample: I'm bored... why can't we go out and fly?
Cool it, bit. Relax a little and enjoy the time off.
That's not my style. I need to get out there and do something.
Before Bit's roommate and flight leader could reply, Bit left, walking out of the small room they shared and onto the deck of the carrier they were on. He was in his uniform, it just wasn't to standard. His jacket was unzipped, showing his red shirt under that. He had his hands behind his head as he walked to the chow hall.
Inside there was relatively empty. Most people were asleep or taking a break from their shift. It was close to the end of the night cycle, so everyone who wasn't on was trying to get the last amount of sleep they could before they switched out. Bit got his food then sat down at an empty table. He took two bites before his Squadron Commander sat down across from him. The Twi;lek looked at him with his maroon eyes.
Your up early. Couldn't sleep?
Not at all. I took over Slash's shift for tonight. Its not like I had anything better to do. Can't fly.
Is that all you care about, Bit: Flying?
Yup. Nothing like feeling the G's putting you back in your seat as you get a lock on an enemy fighter. Or! OR pulling up at the last second from a gunship to scare them out of a certain flight path!
Bit was grinning from ear to ear as he thought about the different scenarios, or just being in his pilot seat again. Just then, the sirens went off, and an automatic warning order for everyone to get to their stations: there was an attack on their ship, and Bit was ready for it. He left his plate and sprinted for the flight deck.
