Jedi:
Name: Trent Garrick
Race: Human
Age: 21
Height: 5'2”
Weight: 121 lbs
Appearance: Fairly short and skinny. Wavy brown hair, and brown eyes.
Birth place: Coruscant
Faction: Jedi
Rank: Padawan (left the order)
Bio:
Trent was born a slum rat on the streets of Coruscant. His parents worked in various factories in The Works doing jobs that even droids would turn down. His mother died early in his life from continued exposure to the various health hazards of living and working in The Works area of the city. His father was a member of one of the many crime families and kept a loose eye on Trent. He taught Trent at an early age how to watch out for himself. Trent spent most of his childhood getting into fights, and negotiating out of them.
When he was 6 he was noticed by the Jedi council after a trio of Jedi were assigned to clean out the gang that his father happened to be in. After finding young Trent hidden in an air duct with a blaster after seeing his father killed, they noticed he seemed to have Jedi potential. It was said by one of the Jedi that "he had midi-chlorians coming out the wazoo." He was taken to the Jedi temple and assigned to an initiate clan.
Once in training he went through like most others. He soon accepted his father's death. He wasn't the most skilled in the force discipline training, his levitating objects tended to do strange things. He usually passed his tests, but he tended to unintentionally take a different approach than his classmates. When he became old enough for combat training he quickly found that he was the worst in his class with a lightsaber. Many times he was disqualified in duels because he hit himself with his lightsaber. Despite his hardships in the other disciplines, he excelled in the philosophical aspects. He was the first to understand the Jedi code, and never failed to answer a moral question.
When he was 12 Trent met his master, Jan-ren. He was chosen because of Trent's aptitude with the Jedi code. over the next 8 years they traveled together doing various council-appointed tasks. Jan-ren quickly learned his pupil's weaknesses, after Trent had accidentally removed both of his hands with his own lightsaber (He got new ones). The missions went fairly uneventfully until, at the age of 20, Jan-ren decided that Trent was ready for his trials.
The task was to accompany Jan-ren on a dangerous mission to stop a group of wanted mandolorian bounty hunters from leaving Corellia. After making their way into the hangar that stored the ship that the bounty hunters were about to use to escape. The mission began to fall apart when they found that the bounty hunters had hired some local security, and they came prepared. They decided that Jan-ren would stay outside and keep them distracted, while Trent would board the ship and keep it from taking off. Trent made it aboard and managed to fight his way through to the cockpit but when he arrived he found more than he expected.
As the door opened he felt a fear he had never experienced before. Out from one of the seats stood a man in a black cloak wielding a red saber. No words were spoken, the man simply began to walk toward Trent with a sinister smile upon his face. In that moment Trent forgot everything he had ever learned about being a Jedi, he could only feel his mind clouding with darkness, fear, and hatred. Before he knew it the cloaked man was already mid swing with his saber, Trent managed to feebly deflect the blow but it was too late. Trent's morale was broken and he dropped his saber and ran for the exit. In a short break in combat, Jan-ren noticed his padawan running for his life away from the ship. Jan-ren knew that then that the mission had been a mistake, and shouted "Trent, remember the code!" and tossed his saber to him, and shortly after found himself caught in the wash of the engines of the ship that had just taken off.
After seeing the death of his master and failing his trials, Trent fled the hangar and hid in an alley for a few days. He spent the time thinking about what he should do with himself. He though about what the council would do with him, and about his master's last words. He finally decided that he would leave the order, They most likely assumed he had died on the mission anyway. He still held on to his training and values, and still vowed to follow the Jedi code, but he couldn't bring himself to face the council after his failure.
Feeling that he was without a purpose he took up the task of protecting the streets of Corellia. After many months and many close calls he met up with René Aventine and joined her on her smuggling ship, to let the winds of the force carry him wherever he was supposed to go.
Lightsaber: Single blade, Blue.
The lightsaber of his former Jedi master. Trent only uses it when he has no other choice. His own lightsaber was lost now in the possession of the dark Jedi he confronted during his failed trials.
