Ryloth, my home...
A lot of things happened since I've been gone. It looks the same, and yet ... so different. Brings back memories...
And those were many. It felt like approaching an old house, where you had spent a good time of your life. Images of the past immediately flowing into your head. Sometimes the imagination working so strongly you could swear you see real objects, real people, even though you know they aren't really there.
No matter how far Nika traveled, and what places she had seen, Ryloth always had that special place in her heart. For all of its flaws, it was still her home. She felt home. There was just something about these desert mountains and clay huts that was dear to her soul. Naboo, with all of its shine, glimmer, and beautiful nature, for some reason, never felt the same. Guess it was the call of Home, a feeling not unfamiliar to any twi'lek born here.
Nika came here with a freighter she was escorting, and as soon as the ship touched the ground, the twi'lek disappeared into the city. Nostalgia overcoming her quite completely. Everything felt so ... recognizable, so natural. And yet, not the same. Was is that long ago? When she was but a local riffraff running across the streets with a bunch of other kids? Where are those kids now? - the twi'lek wondered, walking down the street she used to live.
Children cast strange glares at her. And Nika understood why. Not too long ago, she too, glared at armed people with a mix of curiosity and fright. Mommy told that armed people were dangerous people, and they were not to be approached. Even if they were twi'leks themselves. Because betraying their own kin wasn't as impossible as Nika once thought it was. Her former friend assured that claim...
Right over there was her old house, where her family used to life. Parents sold it before they moved to Naboo, and now there was a different family living there. It was ... kind of sad. She wanted to come in, look at what used to be her bedroom, but could not. No, different people, and it was their house now. They even painted it differently... Sighing, and shaking her head, the twi'lek turned around to go somewhere else, and then...
SMASH!
She accidentally bumped into somebody going her way. She did not expect, and the force of impact was enough to send her unto the ground. The land was a rough one, especially for her butt, which landed on a sharp stone, making her yelp a bit. Looking up, at whoever it was, Nika smiled sheepishly, scratching behind her head.
- Eihehe, sorry about that mister... erm... whoever you are.
