Biography
Taki Renault was born on the peaceful Mid Rim world of Centares. She was abandoned at the planet's main starport just a few days after her birth, where she was discovered by the blind Cathar Jedi, Xsangi Visharix.
Taki was taken to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, where it was discovered she was Force sensitive. Taki was enlisted into the Jedi Order, and began her training right away.
As expected of all Jedi trainees, Taki was raised within the walls of Coruscant's Jedi Temple, undergoing a strict training program. She became a Padawan at the age of thirteen, at which point she was taken under the wing of Xsangi, the Jedi who had discovered her as an infant all those years ago.
Under Xsangi's guidance, Taki excelled as a Padawan. Due to her master being blind, Taki recieved a very different type of training than most other padawans, and was taught to rely on the Force more than what she could merely see in front of her.
Xsangi also allowed Taki to stray from the strict rules that she had been taught at the Jedi Temple. Thus, Taki quickly adopted a free personality that wasn't necessarily evil, but was definately not within the prim and proper guidelines of the Jedi Order.
At the age of twenty-two, Taki and Xsangi were involved in an undercover mission against space pirates on the Outer Rim. Xsangi's cover was blown somewhere in the middle of the mission, and as a result he was killed.
Taki, however, was able to keep a straight face throughout the ordeal, as well as trick the pirates into believing she was not associated with her now dead master. Because of this act, she was able to complete the mission, and bring the information required back to the Jedi Order.
Because of her efforts, and her great self-control in times of stress, Taki was promoted to the rank of Jedi Knight. Furthermore, she became situated mainly in the Outer Rim, participating in undercover missions much like the one that had saw her master die, and her own promotion.
During this time away from the Order, Taki became even less restrained by the rules of the Jedi. Spending so much time around mercenaries and rogues had an effect on her, and she quickly decided that disregarding rules and regulations was acceptable, if the purpose served the greater good.
Her attitude attracted much concern from the Jedi Council, and the manner that she completed missions became more and more ruthless. However, Taki believed her actions were justified, prefering to follow her own heart rather than stick to tradition.

It seemed almost useless to try. Even a Jedi couldn't survive such a great impact. The moment that her Republic Attack Fighter had descended beyond the clouds and revealed nothing but mountainous terrain, Taki new her fate was almost certainly sealed. She even began to grow fond of the sombre military grey hues of the inner cockpit, for in times like this, she realized just how safe it was.
Taki punched a few commands into the navicomputer, but the device didn't do so much as flash a response back at her; it was well and truly fried. Reaching overhead, she flipped several rows of switches, trying desperately to release the cockpit window. Once again, the machine gave her no response.
"All the circuits!?" she questioned her own ruined starfighter, as if expecting an explanation as to why it was in such bad shape.
Seeing no other solution, Taki raised her right foot, and kicked furiously at the cockpit window, not once, but several times. On the seventh kick, the glass finally shattered, raining down on her in crystallized shards. Taki covered her face, dusted the broken remnants from her clothing, and made sure her utility belt - and its supplies - were firmly secured.
Then she waited. The fighter continued to plummet toward the ground at increasing speeds. And just before impact, Taki knew it was time for a 'leap of faith', so to speak. She propped herself up into a half kneel, before launching her entire body out the shattered window. A split second later, the ship hit the rocky ground no more than ten meters below, exploding into a ball of fire.
Taki had her eyes closed the entire time, but she could almost feel the flames licking at the backs of her legs as she soared through the air. And she soared much longer than expected. Upon opening her eyes, Taki realized she had leaped from the cockpit at the most inoppertune time; she was now falling over the edge of a steep slope that was littered with rocks, trees and other natural debris.
Curling up into a ball, Taki braced for impact. She collided with the steep ground after a freefall of thirty meters, perhaps more. Tumbling furiously, she was unable to remain in a ball shape, her arms and legs flailing wildly as she was battered in all directions. Eventually, her descent stopped. Her body ached all over, and she felt a wet substance trickling down her hip. She knew it must have been blood, but she cared not to look. Now that she was wounded, nothing could reverse that. All a shocked glance would do was worsen the situation.
As Taki wondered if she would survive, she gazed up at the treetops that surrounded her. The high, thickly clustered canopy made it impossible to see if it were day or night. Not that it mattered. All faded to black, and Taki slipped into unconciousness.
