Without wasting any time, the pale Twi'lek rose from the chair, switched off the light, and left: leaving the man bathed in darkness. For a while, he just sat there, not moving and not thinking of anything in particular.
When Bit did move, he shifted on the couch, and laid back down: setting his head on the armrest. Now he proceed to think: about his past; about what happened mere hours ago; about the woman who's house he now occupied.
"Damn... What a hell of a night, and I am nothing but an ass."
Bit sighed, and almost made for his cigarettes, thought better of it, and let his arm hang over the edge of the bed. With another sigh, Bit promptly fell into a restless sleep. He had nightmares from his past plaguing him.
After what seemed like a few minutes, Bit woke back up. A glance at his watch showed that some hours past. With a grown, Bit sat up, and with a push, got to his feet. He found it much easier to move around compared to yesterday, but he wouldn't be moving his left arm around too much for a while.
The man checked outside, seeing that dawn was just starting to peak through the streets. This brought a small smile to Bit's mouth. He turned, found the refresher, relieved himself, washed his hands, went back to the main room.
From there, Bit went to the kitchen, switching on the light. He was thinking of raiding the woman's fridge, but thought of a better Idea: Make breakfast for her. With the ruckus he was making when he first woke up, he assumed that the woman would be up here soon. This would be a good way to show himself to not be the drunk ass he was last night, and hopefully make the woman not despise him, or at least not as much.

Varulla'aba awoke considerably after dawn, after a battle with her alarm clock. It had rung much earlier than she would have liked, largely because she'd forgotten to turn it off the other night after getting fired. By the time she'd groggily shut it off, she was already half-awake, and since life was cruel she was unable to fall back asleep.
The Twi'lek woman pulled aside her blankets and swung her legs off the bed and onto the ground. She rose up to her feet and she padded silently out the door and into the living room, rubbing the sleep from her eyes.
It was only when she reached the edge of the couch and saw it empty that she remembered last night's guest, who seemed to have vanished away. However, a clattering and clanging noise coming from the kitchen gave an indicator he hadn't vanished to some far away locale.
In bare feet, Var came around the corner into the kitchen and folded her arms with an incredulous look on her face.
"What the hell are you doing in my kitchen?" The pale woman asked with a demanding look in her green eyes.

One wouldn't have guessed by looking at the man, but Bit wasn't too shabby when it came to cooking. He wasn't a five star chef, but having to cook for himself and other people for years, one picked up on how to cook, and how to cook pretty damn good.
Bit was humming a nice little tune as he was frying up some eggs, using the grease from fresh bacon to add in a little bit of flavor. On another pan, pancakes were sizzling away, almost ready to be flipped. He smiled, looking at the flapjack, flipped it, and began to set the table while he had the time to.
He just went back to the stove when the soft pad pad pad of bare feet touched his ears. He looked over his shoulder, catching a set of demanding green eyes and tossing a casual, warm smile in their direction.
"Making some breakfast. What's a better way to start off the day than with a good home-cooked meal? Now have a seat; It'll be done here in a second."
Bit's voice was light and wasn't at all demanding. He was assuming that he would have thrown the pale woman off, but he didn't know for certain. He was taking a chance with trying to get her to at least not hate him.
Wait? What did it matter if she hated him or not? He shouldn't have given a single thought at it, and yet here was was trying to earn something he never had. He stole a glance at Var, then turned back, making a rather unusual, and funny, sound as he grabbed the pan with the pancake, which was almost burned. He sighed, a smile gracing his face again, and chuckled slightly, tossing the flapjack up and having it land on a plate with as small stack of them already.
Taking a more evenly cooked pancake on a plate, he added a little bit of egg and a few pieces of bacon. and brought the plate to where the woman was, setting it on the table. He went back to get his one food, and hesitated. Again, he thought at why he was doing so much... It didn't seem like him. For a few seconds, he didn't move as he tried to figure out what was going on with his head, then shrugged, got his own food, and sat at the table as well.

Var stood in the kitchen, with a confused look on her face. And stood. And stood. And stood.
What just happened?
The annoying human man who'd groped her last night was now suddenly making her breakfast without being asked? That pompous jerk was now being nice, and being... polite? That just felt strange, surreal... awkward.
The white Twi'lek took a few steps to the chair and sat down at the table, still at a loss for words. This was seriously messing with her preconceptions and formed opinions. It was like watching a serial killer suddenly petting kittens. Well, maybe not exactly that dramatic, but the governing principle was the same.
What the hell was wrong with life this morning?
By the time the stranger had sat down opposite her, Var had finally been able to form words appropriate to the occasion.
"I... Wasn't exactly expecting that. Thank you."
Green eyes turned away from the human man and with a twinge of guilt they looked to the food, which she started to eat slowly and deliberately, avoiding eye contact.
She couldn't even remember his name.

Silence reached down heavily on Bit and his Twi'lek hostess as they ate. She was eating quite slowly was, it seemed to him, making a conscious effort to avoid looking directly at him: especially his brown eyes. He himself wouldn't mind looking into her big, green ones.
Bit paused eating, confusing washing behind his eyes at how his train of thought went. His right eye twitched for a moment, before he forced his hand to resume its previous movements. He took three more bites of his food before he set his silverware down, a light chuckle escaping him as a thought touched his mind.
I think, that in our short time knowing each other, or at least what I can fully remember, I haven't properly introduced myself. I'm Cyn Rook: better known as Bit. And I must say sorry, as I can't recall yours.
Bit chuckled again, reddening ever so slightly at the cheeks. Forgetting a woman's name was as bad as... wait: he did that last night. He ran a hand through his hair, using that as an excuse to break his eye contact. His body became stiff as the movement jarred his left shoulder. He gritted his teeth, easing his good arm back down at a almost normal rate, and eased his breathing back to normal.

Var stared up at Bit for a second after he spoke, and slowly her eyes narrowed in scrutiny.
A shade of pink had crept into the man's cheeks, something the Twi'lek knew was called blushing, and often indicated embarrassment. But why was he embarrassed now? Was it... because he couldn't remember her name?
The woman blinked a few times.
He was blushing because he couldn't remember her name. How was it that the same man who could grab her ass and sexually proposition her could now suddenly feel mortified at simply not remembering her name? It was like this Bit was two different people, wholly separate from each other.
Belatedly Var realized she'd been asked a question, and she answered it, providing her alias rather than her actual name.
"Dia Amersu."
Not the greatest name, but sufficient. And after a few weeks of it, she was starting to catch on and respond to it.

Bit nodded as the Twi'lek woman provided her name. He must have caught her by surprise with it, judging by the break between his words and her reply. He looked down at his food, then, within the next couple of minutes, finished eating. He stood up, taking his plate and silverware to the sink, where he washed them, like a good lad.
Even doing something as light as this hurt Bit's shoulder, which was to be expected, but it also allowed his mind to wander and think. He first took this time to reassess his situation. He was in a house with a woman he didn't really know, with, quite possibly, the police force here on Manaan after him: if they knew it was him. He was in no shape to run, but he knew he needed to get off the planet at his earliest opportunity.
Dia, when you are through eating, just bring your plate to me.
Wait... what? Unconciously, he slowed down on his work, a confused look on his face, which was hidden from the woman. What the hell was going on with him today where he was acting unlike how he usually would. Again, he failed to learn of the cause of his actions, and continued to wash his dishes.
He shook his head minutely, going back to his thoughts of his current situation. Once he did leave, where would he fly off to? He would probably head back into the core regions of space and try to lay low, for at least a little while. That should work out. Then he could get back on track with his life.
Back on track? Merc for hire? Smuggler? Bounty hunter? Yea... great lifestyle, guy. He spent more time in Cantina's womanizing, drinking, and smoking than he did trying to find work, or even accomplishing his work. Hell, his best job in nearly a year almost literally went up in flames last night. The man took a small breath, and tossed his thoughts away from that.

Var stared at the unfinished food on her plate with a strange expression. It was good, but she didn't have an appetite. It was probably good, because such a meal if fully consumed would go straight to her thighs, or her flat stomach.
AFter a long pause she took it to Bit and handed it to him, hovering nearby with arms folded.
It wasn't exactly a hostile stance, but it was guarded.
The Twi'lek just didn't understand why it was that this was happening, just why he was being so nice to her. It was confusing her, and she didn't like it. Everything was a troublesome mess here, a tangle.
Var finally settled on words to say.
"Look, I'm not exactly used to this kind of treatment. I don't expect handouts. But cooking a meal isn't going to let you stay around, if that's what you're aiming for. I want you gone as soon as possible. Got it?"

Bit accepted the plate, with some of the food still on it, gratefully, and without a word. He set to wash it, only to then realize that the woman was still there. He looked at her, watching her guarded stance. He started to guess what it could have been about, until she decided to speak. He shut off the water, finished with the dishes, and turned towards her, crossing his arm's as best he could, which came out somewhat awkwardly.
I know that. I was trying to do something nice as a thanks for helping me out and... I don't know... prove myself to be a better man than I made myself out to be.
Bit turned his eyes away from the Twi'lek, finding it hard to look into her own large green ones. He slid past her, heading into the living room. Just then, when he was talking to the woman, he was reminded of his past, and it hurt him. She wanted him gone, then so be it.
The man grabbed his black jacket, throwing it on, but not zipping it up. He made sure he had all of his belongings, which wasn't very much, given that almost everything he had was on Archangel. He looked over at Var, holding eye contact for but a split second before he went to the door.
See you around, Dia.
And with that, he opened the door, walked out, and closed the door afterwards. He walked to the end of the walkway before he paused, looking behind him, then scanned his surroundings to get his bearings, but he didn't start walking yet. Why? He didn't know.

Var watched Bit leave the apartment, and saw the metal door slide shut again. She still just stood there, wondering how badly she'd misjudged the man.
It wasn't her fault though. Anyone in her position would have done the same thing, come to the same conclusions. She shouldn't have felt guilty, but for some reason she did, and it was highly annoying.
The Twi'lek sighed. Sometimes she had to admit she missed the guilt-free feelings she'd had when immersed in the dark side. Do anything at all and feel no remorse. Of course since leaving things had changed, and she realized that was no way to live. Not the way normal people lived.
Being normal. Such a pain in the ass.
How did Donnie do it?
Var laughed. Bad comparison. Donnie wasn't really normal. Crazy and loveably naive at times, but not quite normal.
The pale young woman crossed over to the armchair and sat down in it, sighing as she purged her recent guilt from her mind and stared at a holonet receiver for a few hours while she festered in newfound unemployment.
