So I was looking at a few other characters in the civilian section and came across something I didn't understand. What is the difference between a junior senator and a senior senator?
My guess would be that the Senior Senator is the head honcho, but the Junior Senator is a sort of substitute. However seeing how much I know about the Star Wars universe I really don't think my guesses are worth all that much. So... help? pretty please.

A senior senator has been in office longer than a junior senator. That is pretty much it.
An example to clarify:
Two senators, right? One has been there for 10 years. The other has been in office for 15 years. The senator of 15 years is senior to the senator of 10 years.
That work?

I'm not sure I understand (thick ol' me...). Does the whole junior/senior thing apply per planet? That would mean there are two Senators per planet. Or does the junior/senior thing apply to the entire senate (ie: there is one senator per planet but some of these Senators are senior and some are junior)?

Per planet, I would say, but I also think the number of senators per planet varies, perhaps. I'm not sure how the whole system works and there's not a lot of information about it.
The guy who has been representing his planet/sector/corporation/whatever the longest is the senior senator. Maybe there are two or three junior senators who help the senior senator out. I would assume that if anything happens to the senior senator, the oldest standing junior senator would become the senior senator.
Does that help?
