Bio: Deenar was born in Dac’s capital, Coral City. His parents were Gyar Ica, a Security forces officer, and his wife Masna, who was an engineer. It was an average family, so the parents were very happy that they could afford all the furniture and necessary gear for the baby, so they would be able to raise their son in good conditions.
They were surprised when they were told the result of the test of their son’s blood. He was a Force-sensitive. Both parents knew what it meant, and truly, after a few weeks, a Jedi came to their home and asked them if their son could be taken to the Jedi Order. Gyar and Masna were honored that their son was going to become one of the galaxy’s peacekeepers, but they wanted to spend some time with him, so they made an agreement with the Jedi, that once Deenar would turn 5 years old, they would bring him to the Jedi Temple.
Until Deenar turned 2 years old, there were no significant differences between him and normal children, although he handled Basic a little bit better than the other kids and had surprisingly fast movements. When he was 3, he learned how to read from his mother, and then they would read many heroic stories about Jedi together. His father taught him how to swim and how to dive, but he always kept an eye on him, since Deenar’s gills weren’t fully developed yet. Because Deenar was able to speak in Basic quite fluently by this time, his parents started teaching him basics of Mon Calamarian.
His father once told him, that as a Jedi, he will be helping to mantain order in the galaxy and thus building a better society. Deenar immediately liked the idea and when he was playing „cops and thieves“ with the other children, he would always play as a cop and thanks to his fast rexlexes, he has always caught everybody who was playing a thief. He also grew to like chocolate, which his parents often gave him as a reward for learning a new Mon Calamarian phrases.
Fifteen days before Deenar’s fifth birthday, his father decided to take a few days off work and spend them with his son. In the evening, Masna remembered how her son loves chocolate, and because she was cooking, she told Gyar to go to the local store and buy some chocolate bars. Gyar left his security uniform and weapon at home, this was a peaceful city and the store was just 20 minutes of walk away.
When he was about halfway from his destination, he got ambushed by a group of eleven Quarren teenagers. He knocked out 3 of them, but then one on the attackers pulled out a knife and stabbed the Mon Cal to his neck. Gyar fell to the ground, his hands clutching his bleeding neck, as some of the Quarrent started jumping on his head and body, others kicking him into his eyes and calling him names. After a four long minutes of agony, he finally died. When the Quarrens saw he wasn‘t moving anymore, they ran away, laughting, and left the 3 unconnscious members of their group behind.
Deenar felt something familiar in the Force disappearing, but didn’t know what it was until his crying mother told him what happened. Although the security has ultimately managed to arrest all of the attackers, due to the Quarrens who were left behind, they had to let them go after a few weeks, because they were blaming each other and they were all underage. When Deenar heard this, he vowed that, once a Jedi, he will bring order to Dac and then to the rest of the galaxy.
At the day of his fifth birthday, he finally stood in front of the Jedi Temple. The Jedi his parents spoke to 4 years ago was already waiting for him. Although Deenar didn’t want to leave his mother alone, he knew his future lies with the Jedi. He waved his mother goodbye and followed the Jedi into the Temple.
Deenar got used to the system in the Temple quickly. He was shy and quiet at first, still thinking about his mother, but after a few months, he has made some friends and always liked when they talked about their pasts. He realized, that despite what happened to his father, he had quite a good childhood, compared to some of his frieds who were kidnapped by slavers. And when he discovered that there was a pool in the Temple, he finally left his sadness behind.
He got a blue training saber and started practicing basic unarmed and lightsaber combat when he was six. He loved the elegant movements showed by the teachers. He often practiced Shii-Cho and hand-to-hand in his spare time with fellow younglings. Classes where he was supposed to practice his Force powers were less interesting, but he knew they were important too, so he sometimes practiced in his free time his Force powers. He mainly practiced those that would allow him to jump higher, move faster and predict his opponent’s movements. And history classes were boring, who would ever care what happened thousands of years ago and meditating could be translated into sleeping.
Before his eigtht year of life, during one of the practice matches, he fought against a one year older Quarren girl. The duel was going well, neither of them gaining an advantade, until the girl called him a fishhead. Remembering what Quarrens did to his father, Deenar gave it to his anger. He viciously attacked the girl with his lightsaber. She wasn’t prepared for it and his attack knocked her lightsaber from her hand. She was about to congratulate Deenar for his victory, but he punched her into face and continued beating her as she fell. Jedi Master overseeing the duel immediately stepped in and pulled him away. He send the girl to the med bay and asked Deenar for an explanation. Deenar told him about what happened to his father and how he felt the anger when the girl called him a fishhead. Jedi Master said, that Deenar should not blame all the Quarrens, he should blame only those criminals who killed his father. Deenar realized his mistake and went to apologize to the girl.
She accepted his apologize and introduced herself as Krira. Deenar introduced himself and they started talking about the Force powers. Krira asked him whether he knows Force-healing. Deenar knew it from the class, but he was never interested in it. In Krira’s opinion, it was one of the most useful Force powers, the ability to heal herself and her allies from serious injuries, and once mastered, she may be able to survive otherwise fatal blows. Deenar got slightly interested and she offered him to train it together. He accepted, even though he would be able to spend only 20 minutes in the pool per day now.
Three more years were calm and happy for Deenar, until the Sith Empire attacked his homeworld. He was just practicing telekinetic powers, trying to build a pyramid from rocks and he was just going to put a final rock on the top, when Krira ran into the training room he was in and told him the sad news. Deenar tore the whole pyramid down and ran to his quarters. Didn’t the Republic have the strongest and largest army in the whole galaxy? Why didn’t the Jedi Order intervene? And what about his mother? How dares the Sith Empire to invade his planet! Those and similiar question raced through Deenar’s mind. He closed his eyes and tried to recite the Jedi Code in his mind.
„There is no emotion, there is …“ Before he could finish, Krira entered his room. She tried to calm him down, saying it was her homeworld too, but he wouldn’t listen and then Force-pushed her out of his room and locked the door.
He was absolutely determined to punish the Sith Empire for their crimes, so he started practicing his skills even more, leaving not time for swimming and friends. When his friends tried to help him, he behaved pretty unfriendly towards them, saying them to take care of themselves. He still did his best to be polite towards Masters, though. The only moments when he did’t feel disappointment, anger or sadness were when he was practicing his healing skill with Krira, although the two didn’t talk as much as before. After she has been chosen as a Padawan to some Jedi Master and he didn’t have any friend to practice the healing with, he started practicing his lightsaber skills even more, and wanted to use his emotions to make himself stronger during the battle.
After a day full of dueling with another younglings, he decided to give himself a break and went swimming. He wanted to clear his mind, to feel peace again, so he dived to the bottom of the pool and started meditating. It helped him, alot. He realized how he let his emotions to get the better of him, and went meditating to the pool every day, at least for an hour. Although his anger wasn’t fully extinguished, it was only smouldering now. The meditations helped him to control his emotions better, not letting them control him. He hopes to find a Master in the near future, as he wants to test how much can he tame his anger.
