Let's try this again.
Official sister site.
Let's pick what we want.
Things to consider:
1. will the site attract new members? 2. will the site attract members away from this site? 3. who's gonna run this and what kind of story are we going to do?
Vote, or come up with our own ideas.
VOTE!

There's 25,282 Marvel/DC RPing sites out there...
It's QUITE overdone.
However, I've searched high and low for a Mass Effect website and I know several other people who'd want to be a part of it.
Plot would be tricky but we could work something out.

As I've said, I'd be willing to play, but not to mod.
I've never played. I'm a Wii kinda guy, and it's not on my console yet.
Anybody care to discuss the Real-Life RP idea?

You speak blasphemy! You are not of the true geek kind!
We should delete your operating system and replace it with Linux for your heresy!
*cough*
I could make up a site but I'm horrible at templets. I'll ask around and see how many people are actually interested in M.E.

Never palyed Mass Effect. Never going to. You're out of luck trying to get support from me on those grounds. I'm up for anything else though as both a Mod and RPer.

Got about halfway through on my second playthrough on hardcore. Enjoyable game, it's not brilliant brilliant, I've seen a few flaws, but it runs together very well. Not sure what X's problem with it is. My only complaint is the same with all the games as of late. Everyone's making endings that HAVE to have sequels. Only one I haven't seen as much from, was Call of Duty 4. Everyone dies except for like 2 people. No real sequel chances there. The storyline in M.E. is deep enough to where it could warrant a good RP, just would have to take some reworking of star wars style rules. Even got the Force...Kinda...less mind reading, more throwing people around. I'm also game for a fantasy website I guess. Took me a bit

See, when it comes down to creating a Sister site, I can't do anything with Mass Effect unless it is on Wikipedia, and even in that case, we lose out on the storyline and feel of it all if we haven't played it.
I like the idea of a Fantasy, but we would need something more concrete than last time. I still vote for using the DnD world, but since nobody but me likes that oldschool nonsense, I still don't know what.
Unless.... hmmm... I think I might have an idea.
Imagine something along the lines of Underworld meets Van Helsing..
ooooh... I'm gonna look into that.

I've seen a bunch of vampire/underworld ones too...
I've yet to see any decent fantasy RPs though.
anything that isn't cliche anyway.

Why not go with a steam punk era rp? It's a branch of fantasy usually used in the final fantasy series and is seen in plenty of movies. Steam powered technology that normally wouldn't be used in an era in the past. Medieval, victorian, etc. I don't know much about it at all but it seems to work out with larping groups. Very primitive droid ideas meshed in with old historical based kingdoms.
I liked the idea of going with d&d based races and classes still, going with final fantasy based-classes could also work though.

I'm up for DnD, the vampire/ underworld/ Van Helsing thing or the steam punk. All are areas I'm fluent in.
As for ME I just plain hate it out of prejudice and free will. I have a history of being severely dissatisfied with things that have been hyped to hell and back.
I played CoD4, it sucked worse than a black hole. It was your standard 3 bullets in every guy and they're down, all wrapped in a pitiful "commies and turbanheads with nukes" story. Apparently that's modern warfare.
I think the real life RP would be pretty good as well because it's easy to get into the story, the characters can be very in depth with ease and it is suprisingly not done that often.

i voted for real life... and i was thinking that we could do something like a 24 episode... with terrorists and cults/ crazy who hahs... secret service... marines... etc. it could be wicked... but it could also be dreary. its very tricky.

Haha, we could always just immitate the x-files, that would be a great rp.
Complete kidding, but in my opinion i'd join just about anything but the ME, just because I never played the game and I don't like series rps unless I know them semi-well.
So, on a serious note, winnie the pooh rp? Yes? no?

Ok... I know we already have 4 votes for Mass Effect, but I don't think that's the kind of project we can take on at this time. I can't help at all, neither can Xaojii, and there really isn't that much available information on it. The universe, though impressive by what I've researched, just isn't well-known enough to be set up by a group of people in which not everbody has played. On the converse side, we have the following. 1. A fantasy (steam punk) rp. Honestly, I like this idea quite a bit. A lot of people touch on it in their fantasy, but I haven't seen a lot that focuses. think we can do this pretty well if we get a select group together to debate and discuss things like Pantheons, magic systems, classes, races, steam capabilities. It would take a lot of work, but it could be really fun. 2. A Supernatural (underworld/Van Helsing) RP I'm cool with this, considering I've already written a 326 page teleplay pitch on the very same subject, which is currently under review by some of my friends at the Networks. (Check your 2010 tv guides, folks!) But yeah, that would help, though I can't use any of my ideas (insert legal jargon here). So freeform, I might have my hands tied a bit, but if we do a canon, that'll work out nicely. Though, yes, it is overdone, and the current Vampire obsession might hurt our respectability... 3. A real life RP Always fun. We could do it military-style, yes, or we can do it in a civillian setting. A High school is fun, but doesn't give us much in the way of building, unless we want to make it a community. Also, we need something to bring people in. "Come here and live the life you wish you had!" isn't much incentive to join. The worst thing that can happen is we rp for a few months, run out of expansion, and become an internet version of Dawson's Creek. All in all, if we collaborate and combine Dnd with Steam punk, we break a few rules, write some new ones, we might have something big on our hands, folks. I'm accepting volunteers now, via pm only, to help design. I will create a private baord, password protected, and we will discuss it there. I'm going to max it out at 5. Why? Allow my good buddy Hick to help us out. Hick's Law: "The number of people in a room is inversely porportional to their ability to make a decision" Of course, I paraphrase slightly, but the same holds true. Shall we?
