Name: Avy Valla
Race: Twi'lek
Age: 37
Height: 5'9"
Weight: 120lbs
Appearance:
Had her life been different then maybe Avy would have been known for her body or worn tighter clothing more often. As a child she was scared, her cheeks still bearing the marks of the deep cuts on each side of her face. They dulled with time, though never faded away, due in part from being reopened and poor care. It would be Caula that took Avy to an artist when he felt that she was old enough. The artist helped Avy with her scars, outlining them with a darker purple in stark contrast to the beautiful violet hue of her skin. It was an effort to make the scars look more like they were natural birth marks or stripes that she had inherited from her family line. The artist proceeded to copy the design that the scars and outlining of them made, placing them design upon Avy's forehead and down down her Lekku on each side, turning her scars and pain into works of art and pieces of joy.
Until she faced her Trial of Spirit it was unusual to see Avy wearing any kind of head dressing. When she became a Jedi Knight, Avy had taken to wearing a dark brown leather headdress which was emblazoned with a chrysanthemum, a flower that her father was fond of in his life. As an added defense, even after the scars had been hidden with art, Avy began to wear makeup, heavy mascara and eye shadow to bring out her beautiful smokey grey-blue eyes, which also drew attention to her eyes as well. She took to wearing a shade of red lipstick, another means to drawing attention more to her eyes and lips than to the scars that graced her cheeks.
Her body was still beautiful in her eyes, even with the scars that cross back and forth over her back from the various beatings and attacks against her, as well as scars across her stomach and breast, each scar a mark left by those that had abused her in her life. The most prominent was a scar that ran from under her left breast down over her stomach and ended at the bottom of her right outer thigh. While Avy was still proud of her body enough to stand at times in front of a full length mirror to inspect her body, only being vain enough in private to wear tight clothing or no clothing at all. Outside though she is more reserved, wearing heavy and thick flowing robes, with a matching light brown and dark brown color hue, the standard robes often seen being worn by many Jedi. The heavy robes are worn to keep her body covered and to hide her figure, both out of her own shyness as well as wanting to prevent others from starting at her slender body that Twi'leks are well known for and a need and want to keep her scar riddled body hidden and private.
Personality:
A kind and caring woman, Avy has shown time and time again that the past matters not and it is what one does with their future that dictates their fate. She is a loving and caring mother figure, found reading to younglings whenever she has the time to do so. Her warm smile and caring heart put many of the more troubled children at ease, and her mother like demeanor puts others mind's to rest. She is a walking book, one that has a love for reading and has always been found in the Jedi Archives. At all hours one could easily find Avy Valla walking through the archives, her hand running lightly over the spins of the tomes as she looks for one to read.
It is her love of books that has made her sharp witted and forged her mind into a powerful tool to help others. Every day she reads and aids those Jedi searching the archives for the information that they need. Her heart is full of compassion and caring which shows constantly, and her mind is filled with knowledge from a life long love of the written word. Her caring and kind heart coupled with her sharp and brilliant mind is what makes others around her seem to be drawn to her, and it is what she uses to protect those around her.

Birth & Slavery
Born on Ryloth to a set of loving parents, a beautiful mother that was a stripper for a two bit criminal, and a prideful father that was the criminals major domo. For two years Avy Valla had a chance to know her parents, kept hidden in secret lest the master find out about her, though one night it was found out. Her mother had been badly beaten by her master until she told about her daughter Avy, and whom the father was. Her father managed to protect her for a time before falling to the muscle that the criminal managed to gather, only for her father to be killed while her mother just watched and said nothing. Avy was taken from her loving family, the first betrayal in her life as her mother just sat there and let it happen. She cried, oh how she cried, it never stopped, it never got any quieter, it was a constantly howling for her papa.
Her crying was interpreted as being feisty and full of spirit as she was sold off to a pedophile, a man whom lived on Tatooine with a house full of children, the entire time though Avy cried until a firm back hand broke her jaw and shut her mouth for the next months. She lay squirming in pain and unable to voice it, the only joy and love in the horrible home being a Zeltron girl whom was a bit older and became like a sister to Avy. She cared for the little girl and protected her from the pedophile, keeping him away from Avy as best she could, though it wouldn't last and shortly after Avy's fifth birthday she would never see the Zeltron alive again. During an alcohol filled night the man pushed himself onto Avy, only to be interrupted by the Zeltron girl whom attempted to pull him off of Avy. This earned a quick and heavy back hand which spun her around and knocked her into the table, causing it to fall over. The man leaned over the girl and kept beating her all while Avy watched in fear curled at the threshold of the kitchen.
This beating ultimately caused the girls death, leaving her a limp body on the kitchen floor. It was the second time in her life that Avy lost someone and it wouldn't be the last. When the pedophile was finished beating the dead body he turned his attention back to the fear filled child sitting near the kitchen, moving towards her with rage in his eyes as he reached out to grab Avy from the ground. In a single blind moment of adrenaline fueled action she reached out to the knife that had fallen off the toppled over kitchen table and held it up as she fell back, the man falling onto the butchers carving knife as his movement twisted it in deep and sprayed Avy with blood before he fell onto his side. The serrated edge of the knife tore his innards apart and left him bleeding to death as a shocked Avy rushed to the Zeltron girl and attempted to wake her, shaking her shoulder before she curled up with the body in a last attempt to bring her back as her sobbing tears mixed with the blood pooled under the girl. It wasn't until the next morning that Avy was found along with the grizzly scene, a semblance of some port authority on Tatooine had been notified of the loud noises and fighting that had come from the residence and when it was checked on they found the scene of grizzly fight for life. The young Avy curled up against the dead body of a young woman, still sobbing away while the pedophile lay lifeless with the knife still in his gut. Avy was allowed to stay only long enough to bury the girl that had become her sister, her eyes still puffy and sore from crying before she was whisked off to a foster home that was worst than the home she had just come from.
Discovery
A four year old didn't stand much chance alone on her own, even more so on a world like Tatooine. Shortly after the death of the pedophile and burying her pseudo sister she was forced into a foster home that was worse that the home she had just come from. The parents were only interested in credits and taught the children how to lie, cheat and steal all they could. Their only praise was not being beat by the adults when they did good, which was completely opposite if a child came back with nothing, which often resulting in a beating and being locked in a dark and cramped closet at the base of the stairs. The older children where given free reign of the home, often taking advantage of the younger children which caused Avy to return to her thoughts of the previous home she had come from. At least there she had someone to protect her, here though there was no one that would stop the older kids from touching her or the younger ones.
She knew far too much of this life style though, and sadly took it upon herself to protect the other children from the older ones, offering up herself to whatever they had thought up of. Over the months she became use to the humiliating acts and disgusting actions acted out against her by the elder children. She dealt with it though, never let anyone see her cry and she always kept the young children safe, though it would change soon. On the verge of her sixth birthday she came to the rescue of one of the new children forced into the home. Trying her best with what little strength she had to pull the older teen off the young girl was quickly met with an all too familiar back hand to the face. Her memories pulled her back to the first time it had been broken, though while being healed she never talked to anyone, remaining a mute since that first night. As she was left forgotten about laying on the floor near some broken bottles, the teen turned back to the young girl. Just as that one night her body was filled with adrenaline and the drive to protect the little girl, it drove her to action once more as she grabbed one of the jagged broken bottles and stabbed it into the kidney of the teen. She kept stabbing again and again until the bottle had torn him apart and broken off inside of him, leaving him crying out and bleeding to death. This caught the attention of the parents, though the only action they took was to beat Avy for her action in saving a little girl, the beating lasted for hours until she was finally thrown out into the street, left to die in the cold.
Avy had crawled away from the home, managing to find a box to hide in and shield herself from the cold while attempting to heal. She barely last the night and she knew that another night would lead to her death. Her clothing was soaked in blood which hadn't dried yet and made the night even more unbearable when it had become nothing more than cold soaked rags on her body. She was shivering as she barely crawled out of the box and fell before an older man. Her little hand clutching his robes as she tugged on it, trying to get some attention before she passed out. She was lucky though, the man leaned down and scooped her up, the flowing robes she had tugged on being the robes of a Jedi. She was his savior as he carried her from the alley way, taking her quickly to a waiting vessel that he boarded.
She was treated for her injuries, both old and new, external and internal. Her frail body was barely being held together, though it seemed the beatings had begun to awaken something within her, something that had started when she killed her first being and curled up against a dead body. The Jedi could sense a darkness lingering inside of Avy and he wasn't going to let her slip into the Dark Side.
Youngling
It was days until Avy had finally awoken, only to become scared as she found herself in the stark white room of the sick bay. She curled up wondering if she had died, looking around frantically for the Zeltron girl to see if she was going to meet her there or not, only to begin crying. The first thing she saw though was the medical droid coming towards her to check on it, this added to her fear as she jumped off the table and ran into the corner, hiding behind the storage crates with her knees pulled up to her chest as she sobbed. She didn't know where she was and that frightened her more than the possibility that she might have died alone in some street. She remained behind the crates for hours crying and sobbing until the Jedi that had saved her came in to check on it after being informed that she was up and awake. The familiar robes that he wore drew her eyes to the Jedi Knight and for the first time in years she was happy again. She rushed from behind the crates to the familiar robes and wrapped her arms around his leg, the scent of the Jedi familiar as she looked up at him like a child would look up at a parent. She was still scared though it was mixed with happiness as she was picked up by the Jedi. He sat her back on the table and explained why the droid was there, and what it had to do. It was only checking on her, though she began to sob again as she saw the needle only to stiffen up as Avy looked to the Jedi still standing there, wanting to make him proud and show that she wasn't scared even though the needle hurt.
Avy didn't know why she was saved, she didn't even know that the Jedi had saved her because he could feel something about her that was different. All she knew was that he had saved her and the Jedi Knight Caula was a friend, after all he had carried her away from the dark alley where she was dying and protected her, saved her from a fate worst than death or even death itself. She was smiling as she looked at the Jedi, she found a new father, though she didn't know why she felt the way she did towards him. For some odd reason she wanted to make Caula proud of her and she was already showing that desire while trying to be strong in front of him while the medical droid checked her before signing her off with a good bill of health. Though she was still sore from the previous beating and it hurt a bit when she moved that her movements became deliberate and slow.
Arrival
From orbit Coruscant looked like a big ball that would light up when played with, and in her mind that's what Coruscant was, a colorful ball of flashing lights and moving pieces. She watched as the vessels came and went while theirs moved closer to the planet. Her mind was distracted as she attempted to keep up with her eyes as they darted back and forth, a sensory overload as she took in everything she could. It was only when Caula pointed out the Jedi Temple did she manage to gain some semblance of order and focus that she looked straight at the large spires that towered above everything else around it. She was amazed and awe inspired as she felt the shuttle they were on come to a stop. When it did finally land though Avy was the first one out of her seat as she rushed off the shuttle and quickly up the steps of the Jedi temple, her first looking being the four statues in front of it. To her this place was everything she'd ever dreamed of. Her eyes were once more racing to and frow as she looked at the many different Jedi, the many different and strange looking species before she began to get fearful that maybe she had run off and gotten lost. The fear only subsiding when Caula touched her shoulder and knelled next to her before he took her hand and walked with her into the temple.
Caula took Avy into the temple, introducing her to the Jedi that pass them by while Avy couldn't help but keep looking even as they walked by before a small nudge brought her attention back forward so she wouldn't trip. It was the first time that she had been in such a place and her mind was still racing, though it quickly came to a stop when Caula took her into a class of younglings. She was quickly over taken by a bought of shyness, hiding behind Caula and clutching his robes tightly as she only half peeked out at the other Jedi whom was teaching the students. She didn't want Caula to leave, she wanted to stay with him and it showed when she began to sob again, thinking that she was being abandoned once more. This father figure that had showed her such love was now leaving her with strangers and she didn't like it, though the other Jedi could clearly pick up on it. Her sorrow that was growing though was quickly pulled away as Caula leaned down and in a stunning show of emotion kissed Avy's forehead before making her a promise. Caula had promised to her that he would return for her when she was old enough to be taken on as a student. For a moment she stood there and sobbed silently as she watched Caula leave before her attention was brought back to the other Jedi Knight as she whipped her eyes. The first night there was one filled with terror for poor Avy, waking multiple times in the night covered in sweat and just wanting, wishing, hoping for something to hold onto as the nightmares of her life replayed in her head again and again. The only thing to keep her crying muffled was a simple pillow that soon enough became more like a teddy bear to her than an object to rest her head upon.
Adapting to Change
It was difficult at first for Avy after she had arrived at the Jedi Temple. Being left there along without Caula by herself was terrifying. It was as if you took a teddy bear away from a child and expected it to not cry in pain and fear that they would never see it again. Avy was terrified of the temple, it was a new place, filled with new people and each time she would flinch or hide whenever someone came close to her. Her memories and pain of her childhood still fresh in her mind as she had difficulty facing those around her.
Each day was difficult for Avy, she couldn't understand why Caula had just left her at the temple and didnt even come to see if she was okay. In time it was a dull throbbing pain just as her scars upon her cheeks had become a dull and throbbing pain. There were those few days though were Caula would return to the Jedi temple to check on Avy and those few days would be the happiest as Avy swooned and tried her best to impress Caula, showing that he had made a good choice in taking her to the temple. She wanted him to be proud of her, and it was those days out of the many that made the most progress in her opening to others, it was those days that meant the most to Avy as she watched Caula watching over her while she did her best to try and prove herself in his eyes.
It was because of Caula that Avy began to open herself up to others, to make friends and speak with the other younglings. Each time he checked up on her to see how she was getting along was another day which saw Avy push pass her shyness and step out of the shadows that she hid in, afraid of not becoming what Caula had seen in her. Though when she tried, oh how she tried and pushed, shown how much effort she was willing to give, it showed just how quickly and willing she was to push down any barrier in front of her, even those of pain and suffering that had been forced upon her. The nightmares though never stopped for her, they were a constant. If not one night, then they would come another, for her there was only one escape, and she found that escape in the Jedi Archives.
Knowledge
Six long years of wonder and amazement, of classes and learning filled Avy's life after Caula left her at the Jedi Temple. In those six years though Avy grew deeply in mind, her focus being set on the force and knowledge as she didn't show any kind of drive to learn how to use a lightsaber. It was easy to say that if she was missing from a lightsaber class she had run off to the Jedi Archives instead to sit in the spacious halls in front of a datapad or book and stay there for hours on end. She had latched onto the want for knowledge, something she didn't have a chance to have until know, and as she sat in the archives she looked down at the many rows of information and realized that she had so much reading to catch up on. Though the more she wanted to read, the more she broke the rules just so she could read. She would often be found in the middle of the night in the archives, reading through some random book pulled from the shelf as she delicately handle the pages, turning them slowly and reading each word as if it would be the last she would see. Her behavior already had her slated to be inducted into the Jedi Corps, mainly the Educational Corps, a fate that she was dreading. Every now and again a small bit of doubt would find its way into her mind when she heard about the Educational Corps and feared that Caula might never return for her like he had promised.
A Path to the Educational Corps
For a time Avy turned the song of her tune, attempted her best to listen and follow to the rules, to adhere to them like the Jedi code, though each day she found it difficult. Her mind would wander at times, thinking and dreaming of the Jedi Archives even when in the middle of a class, and the distractions didn't help her. Though she made an effort and for a time the Jedi in the archives didn't see her as often as they had before, coupled with reports of her showing up in the middle of the night were gone. It seemed as if she really had changed and was focused more on listening to her teachers rather than sneaking into the archives when she could. All good things though as the saying goes, which lead to Avy sneaking into the archives again only to curl up in the corner with a book and read it from cover to cover until she was found the next morning behind a wall of books as she looked up and knew she was in trouble again. With her birthday just a few days away it was already decided that she would be inducted into the Educational Corps, and the fear that Caula had abandoned her just like everyone else had was beginning to fill her mind once more. Her thoughts flashed back to the days spent alone and curled in a ball, the pedophile or the older boys touching her as she cried, a tear touching her cheek as she thought that she had once more been abandoned to the galaxy.
Padawan
Having been slated for the Educational Corps she felt betrayed and lied to by Caula whom had not returned as he promised. Feeling pain and sorrow at it she was starting to slip into the Dark Side, the pain and sorrow slowly growing into hate and anger until it was replaced with happiness and comfort when she felt Caula's hand touching her shoulder. Her eyes lighting up as she looked to the older Jedi Knight whom had returned just as promised, keeping the promise that he had made to a little girl six years ago whom was now grown and ready to be trained as a padawan. The last moment entrance of Caula saved Avy from a life in the Educational Corps as he took her as his Padawan. Through out the years of her training Caula had kept his eyes on her, and known of the many incidents in which she broke the rules just to learn more of the galaxy that she had never been able to see before now.
Caula was like a father figure to Avy, she adored him and looked up to him like a child hood hero, which he was to her. She was saved for a life of pain and suffering by this Jedi whom carried her out of the darkness and into the light. There was still nights though that she had problems, where her dreams were filled with the memories of blood and dead bodies, of pain and of being beaten. In these nights she would lash out in her sleep, the Dark Side of the force swirling around her from the cause of pain and fear from the memories of her life. Being close to Caula though seemed to set the dreams and memories aside, her mind locking them away and replacing them of memories from the Jedi temple, of happiness and comfort. It was easy to see Avy on the heels of her Jedi Master Caula, wanting to learn all that he could from him and showing a driving want and need for knowledge and learning to replace the memories of pain and death.
Precursors of Courage
Just thirteen years old and Avy was out on her first mission, though she wasn't alone, and her role wasn't going to be major, just to sit there, learn and listen as her master attempted to mediate a peace on a world that was split by a civil war between the government and the impoverished people. It was a chance though for her to learn how to be a diplomat, to see how it would work as she was never one to bring up a weapon. Even during her time as a youngling she found the thought of having to carry a lightsaber as a burden, as well as the fact that it terrified her. She had enough time to handle weapons in her life and she didn't want to have to use another one ever again in her life. The old memories of the night she killed the pedophile would play in her mind when ever it was even mentioned that she would have to carry a lightsaber when she was old enough. It was those thoughts that scared her the most and it was those thoughts that she had to constantly push back into the depths of her mind.
During the meeting she could feel the hostility from both sides as neither side was willing to give any ground. The bulk of the day was spent listening to each side argue and bicker and it made Avy angry that neither side would even attempt to come to some middle ground. Avy sat in awe though as she watched her Master calmly speaking to each side, attempting to get them to a compromise though the meeting would end up being cut short. During the talks a loud roar filled the room as the building shook on its foundation, flames filling the hall as smoke came into the room causing both sides to rush out. During the fire which had been caused by an explosive device set by the rebels, the group of them returned to their own whom had begun to attack the city. During the first few minutes of the explosion and the following fire fight, many civilians in a nearby town square had been hit in the cross fire of government soldiers and rebel fighters. Avy was frightened, her fear getting the better of her as she curled up and didn't know what to do. In that moment she saw her Master step into the fray and begin to protect the people, which in turn drove Avy to action. With a combination of adrenaline and using her own fear to push herself to action she rushed into the fight, not knowing that she had opened herself as she drew on her fear to push her to action. Without a second thought of her own well being Avy rushed into the square and began to drag the wounded civilians to safety, taking care with each one only to rush back to save those still left behind. To this day Avy still doesn't understand how she avoided being hit by any of the blaster bolts that were flying through the air.
As the day came to a close the rebels had turned and fled, those left alive went into hiding while the rest had been captured. The entire day had seen Avy spend it rescuing lives and protecting the civilians, she had even saved a few of the wounded rebels as she didn't care whose side they were on, she was only there to help and not to kill. While she was tending to the wounded she looked up just in time to see a wounded rebel begging for his life only for it to be taken away by a government soldier that now stood over the body and was ready to fire on another wounded man. Avy couldn't understand what came over her as she felt all the emotions she felt the night she killed the pedophile that had turned his sights on her. Fear, anger, pain, horror, sorrow, it had all be welled up within her and it was this moment that the damn burst. Filled with emotions she rushed at the soldier, using her weight as she slammed into his legs to knock him away before she placed herself between the government soldier and the wounded rebel. Avy looking up with defiance in her eyes once more before she felt the all too familiar back hand to her cheek as she was thrown away like a rag dog. It took her loud scream to draw the attention of Caula and two other soldiers as they grabbed the soldier and dragged him away, Caula sitting up Avy whom was visibly shaken and crying as her memories of her childhood rushed into her. Frozen in fear and in a catatonic shock she shook with fear and horror as her mind continued to replay the night over and over again.
It was possible that if her Master had not been there, than it would be easy to say that Avy would have been locked in that state of mind for the rest of her life. It was only the feeling of Caula's arms wrapping around her that snapped her far enough out of her nightmare before she realized what had happened, a black and blue bruise beginning to show upon her cheek. By the time she had come to, Avy's eyes were sore and puffy from having cried the entire time she replayed her nightmarish memories again and again. The loving and caring father figure of Caula whom hugged her and wiped her tears free while the soldier was attended to by the doctors. While the order would demand that Caula should have reported the action, he believed that Avy had learned that she couldn't let her emotions take hold of her and so instead chose not to alert the Jedi Order. Instead he saw it as training, a lesson for Avy to learn that it was emotions, the very ones that she had felt that would lead her to the Dark Side of the Force and would cause her to return to the life that she had escaped from. Such a life that Avy never wanted to return to.
Building a Lightsaber
Her sixteenth year would be marked with a trip to the frozen planet of Ilum, a planet long since known for its crystals used in the construction of lightsabers. Avy was taken to the Jedi temple on the planet to begin her construction of a lightsaber, the weapon that she was to carry for the rest of her life. The construction would take her months as she lost herself in the crystal caverns, searching for the perfect crystal to use in her lightsaber. For three months she hunted for the perfect crystal, finding her way into a serious of crystal tunnels before a miss step caused her to fall into another crystal cavern beneath it. In the cavern Avy found a rare violet crystal. As Avy touched it she could feel a calm coming over her and her skin was cool to the touch as she touched it.
It took Avy close to a week before she crawled her way out of the caverns and returned to the temple with her new crystal. The gem still feeling cool to the touch as she felt at peace from just holding it. For the next two months Avy dove into the work on constructing her lightsaber, each piece chosen carefully to reflect her feelings at the time, to reflect her peace of mind. She constructed her lightsaber in such a way that it would forever remind her to keep her mind at peace, to keep her calm and focused. When the lightsaber was completed it was a thing of beauty in her eyes, made of silver and bone. A beautiful and elegant piece of her soul forged into a sophisticated tool to help protect others in the galaxy, to aid her in her drive to help others.
At the end of three months Avy was proud of her accomplishment in the construction of her lightsaber, presenting it to her Master for his approval, having always sought it from the father figure. He was present of mind however to remind Avy about becoming too proud, about preventing herself from becoming arrogant and falling to the darkness. Avy understood what her Master was talking about, why he was light scolding her for her actions, though he hinted that he was proud of her completing her weapon. This caused Avy to brighten up that her Master was proud of her, happy of her hard work that she put into the lightsaber, the tool that she would carry and use to help others.
Six Years of Life and Training
Avy never really did like using her lightsaber, she was always hesitant in drawing it, always seeing it as an extention of the weapons used on her as a child. She knew it was there to protect her, to protect those she was sent to watch over with Caula, though she never did like using it. To her it was more of a symbol of the Jedi Order, though she didnt see a need to use it. While it had been forged with a part of her soul that held her hatred and pain that she felt as a child, she had also put the happiness and joy she felt from Caula saving her into the lightsaber, as well as her hopes and dreams. It was there to remind her of where she had come from and where she was going.
While she was hesitant in using her lightsaber, she still took the time to learn how to effectively use the weapon, mainly with Shii-cho, the primary form that all Jedi learned to use. She had been learning the form since she came to the temple as a child and was inducted into the order as a youngling. Often though while she did go to the classes, she had always spent those late nights in the archives reading and learning all that she could find about the form in the various datafiles and books that were available on the subject. To Avy she had always hoped that she would ever only need to learn Shii-cho and nothing else, it wasn't something that she had expected as she never intended to use her lightsaber, though she always knew that a day might come where she would need to use her lightsaber, and it was for that day that she studied.
When ever Avy and Caula returned to Coruscant and the Jedi Temple she always made it her priority to rush into the archives like she had as a child. Avy had made many friends at the archives, it was her sanctuary as a child where she would hide from her fears while she read, and now it was like an old friend whom she was always eager to visit. There had also been those archive assistants that were nice enough to bring Avy food and drinks, usually because she was so enamored in the text that she was reading that she would often forget that she needed to eat, drink and sleep. While it was easy to see many students and other masters training with their lightsabers at all times of the day and night, Avy had become a constant in the archives, learning all she could as she searched through the many different tomes, datapads and files. It was one of these hour filled reading days that Avy picked up a file on Makashi, the second form of lightsaber training used in lightsaber on lightsaber combat.
Avy though was one that would still take the time to try and learn more about the other lightsaber forms as a means of precaution, though she had hoped that that she wouldn't need to master a form that used a weapon she didnt want to use to harm others. Though in order to ensure that her skills would be able to serve her, Avy went to one of the Jedi Guardians in the temple and sought to learn of Makashi. She only spent a few months with the guardian learning the second form, though it was clear to both Avy and the guardian that her skills lay elsewhere. When the time with the guardian came to a close she had picked up a few of the fundamentals of Makashi, though she didn't spend enough time to master the form fully.
During the many days and nights that she spent in the archives one thing had caught Avy's eye. While she was looking through the many books and files she managed to dig up some information on Jedi Battle Meditation. When she read it for the first time she became enthralled with it, she wanted to learn more of it as she kept digging up more and more that she could find on it, looking for everything that she could find on Battle Meditation. To her it was the ultimate means to aid others, to help them and protect them by giving them hope and courage on a massive scale. She devled deep into the information, reading more and more on it as she dug up everything, even having help from some of the archive assistants as she asked them for more and more on it, showing her love for knowledge and learning of the Force.
Caula had taken a notice that Avy had been digging up all she could on Battle Meditation, and seeing how much she wanted to learn of it he set up a meetig between Avy and a Jedi Knight that was skilled with Battle Meditation. Under the supervision of both Caula and the Jedi Knight, she spent the next few years learning from Caula how to concentrate and open her mind, helping her expand her powers of telepathy while the Jedi Knight trained her how to concentrate on Battle Meditation. He taught her how to draw on the hopes and fears of each individual, to use their hopes to push them forward, to pull their fears away and push them to the back of their minds. She was taught how to use happiness, hope, and joy to bolster the people's courage. When she finally released from Battle Meditation she felt tired, and exhausted while at the same time she was proud and happy that she had managed to use the force power effectively. After the training Avy slept, she slept for days, fatigue from training having hit her hard and keeping her in bed for days afterwards, only waking when she was jolted from her sleep by Caula. He had light shook her to wake her, watching as Avy stretched, finally feeling like she had gotten the best sleep she had in her life. In fact it was the best sleep she had since she was a child in her father's arms while on Ryloth.
The Coming Days
It was the same world that Avy and Caula had been sent to on her first mission, the same mission where for the first time in her life she felt the darkness that still dwelled within her, feeling once more how she had felt in that moment before pushing herself to step off the shuttle. Since they left the world the first time things had gotten worse, much much worse, and it was clear from the moment that they set foot on the world that the Capital city had been turned into nothing more than a smoking ruin. Both sides fighting over the ruins of a once glorious city while the civilians were made to suffer in pain and agony, the same kind that Avy had felt in her childhood, feeling it once more now that she looked upon others that shared her pain. She was struggling now with sorrow, feeling hatred growing within her only for her to push it back as she kept her mind steady and clear. Avy and Caula found that the rebels had managed to take the city and were winning, now fighting against the last hold outs of a government that had been corrupt and was easily being replaced by those whom were easily becoming worse than the government that they sought to overthrow.
Avy found herself immediately looking to the injured civilians, caring not for the two fighting sides and seeing her job as to protect the injured just as others whom rushed into the streets to give aid to the injured and dying felt the same. It was during these times that Avy found herself seeking a meaning to the harted and pain and finding nothing at all, it was only more hate and pain beneath it that just begot more. It was an endless cycle and the world was soaked in pain, hate and fear. There had been no hope, no love or peace, in that moment she knew that she needed to help the people now more than ever, to help them stop the senseless killing and to take their world back from the hatred and pain that was growing from it.
In their most dire moment of need Avy looked deep within herself as she began to meditate, opening her mind and opening the minds of those few soldiers whom knew deep down within that what they were doing was wrong. Using her new found powers in Battle Meditation she began to lead small groups of the soldiers against the more hate filled ones, helping them retake their world and free themselves from the pain and suffering that was forced upon them. Avy focused deeply upon the hope she felt when Caula found her, using the love she felt for her savior to bolster the hope and compassion of those soldiers that were now fighting for good.
However proud she felt at that moment, whatever emotios she had were soon taken away. As she was approaching Caula a large explosion tore through the streets, a bomber flying over head, givin Avy only enough time to look back to Caula, barely having enough time to rush towards him in a vein attempt to save her master. Avy was thrown back by the explosion, slamming into a large pillar before rolling down the steps of the large building she slammed against. Her vision was hazy as she looked up at the point where Caula was standing, seeing nothing left other than a crater filled with ash. She barely crawled forward before she passed out, being taken to a nearby aid tent. As she lay there children gathered around and hoped that she would wake. It was hours before she finally sat up, seeing the children gathered around her as she smiled and hugged them, though she knew that she couldn't stay for long before she would need to return to the Jedi Temple.
Return to the Temple
When she finally had awaken Avy knew that she couldn't stay for too long, now being without a master as she returned to aiding the injured, attempting to keep her mind off of Caula whom she just lost and was unable to save. She spent months on the world until it was time for her to finally go, the pain of having lost her master and the sorrow still there, though not as prominent as it had been. However it would always be there and would remain with her for the rest of her life. When she returned to the Jedi Temple she reported to the council, telling her story and what had happened on the world. It was clear to the council that she had just gone through the Trial of Flesh, having lost her master before her very eyes as she attempted and failed to save him.
As Avy finished her story the council took a moment of time to decide what to do before they nodded to each other then spoke up. They felt that it was time for Avy to go through her remaining trials, giving her the chance to take them as she was now without a master. Avy was hopeful that she would pass them, and go on with the memory of her master in her mind to push her forward to greater things.
The trials that remain
Avy found it hard to get out of bed knowing what was coming later that day, her trials that she would have to face without Caula watching her. She had cried herself to sleep the night before, feeling sorrow and pain from the loss of Caula and her inability to help him. She sat up before slipping out of her bed, pulling on her robes, not spending much time that morning from cleaning herself up and going through her lengthy morning rituals, not seeing the point in it at the moment with Caula gone.
She took her time going to her trials, stopping for a time in the Jedi Archives and looking through some of her favorite books before she left, taking her time walking through the halls until she came to the room where her trials would take place.
The Trial of Courage
When she stepped into the room she was greeted by the Jedi Masters that would be monitoring the tests, Avy bowing to each of them. Though she would find out that her test wouldn't be there in the temple, it was to be held elsewhere under the watchful eyes of the Jedi Masters. This even though was unorthodox, it was unheard of as she was lead to a waiting shuttle with the fellow Jedi, the vessel leaving Coruscant, and it was only then that she realized what was happening. She was being taken back to Tatooine, the place where it had all begun, where the pain and suffering she had felt started. The traveling wasn't the worse part, no it was the waiting, then it was the anxious feeling as they got closer and closer to Tatooine until she was shaking the moment that their shuttle landed on the dusty world. It was only later that Avy found out that Caula had tracked down the foster parents that she had been forced to live with and the other children that had abused her as she used her body to protect the younger children. It was his wish to see her stand up against them for what they had done.
As Avy and the other Jedi approached the home she was recognized immediately by the parents, both of them amazed to see that the girl they had kicked out hadn't died as they just looked at her with disgust, while the boy that she had stabbed all those years ago hobbled out to face her. Avy saw the disgust that they had with her and she was shaking with fear. Though somehow she knew that this is what Caula wanted her to do, she knew that she couldnt continue with her life if she couldnt find the courage to push forward, and in that moment she did. She approached the family that had hurt her, harmed her and beat her. Used her and then left her for dead, only to be stunned when she gave each of them a simple hug before speaking up and forgiving them. As she stepped back she could see the confusion on their faces, they figured that she should have hated them, and she did, when she was standing there it took all she had to not strike them down. It was Caula speaking in her mind though that stopped, that allowed her to fill with love and hug her abusers before she left them.
The Trial of Spirit
As Avy boarded the shuttle to return to Coruscant she felt a strange feeling, falling forward to her knees, landing hard and finding herself in darkness as she slowly looked around. A vision coming to her just mere moments after her Trial of Courage as she looked around in the darkness, finding a small girl just sitting in the middle of an empty room, a puddle of blood around her as Avy looked at the little girl. She realized that it was her inner child, the one that had been abused and used, watching as the little girl turned to her before slowly growing, standing as she appeared to grow before Avy's eyes. Her inner darkness watching her before assault Avy, attacking her and lashing out as she screamed at Avy for giving up her hatred and not taking her revenge against those that had harmed her.
Avy could feel the pure hatred and anger coming from her inner child as he defended herself from the attacks before she was thrown back by her inner self. As she slowly stood up her inner self began to unleash a heavy torrent of force lightning. Avy had mere moments to react as she brought her hands up, the lightning being deflected back and away from Avy as she looked up, standing slowly and walking forward. All she knew was that she somehow managed to save herself as she stepped forward, moving closer until she pushed her inner self back, only to approach as she wrapped her arms around her. She watched as her inner darkness slowly became a child once more, holding the crying and frightened girl as she kissed her forehead, finally being at peace with her self. She opened her eyes to find the little girl gone before she stood up, looking around as she saw the outline of a tall man, thinking it was Caula she rushed towards him, only to find a male Twi'lek standing there, her birth father.
It took her a moment before she realized whom it was, seeing his smiling face again as she hugged her father and took the time to sit down and listen to all he had to tell her. She learned that she couldnt let the hatred inside of her grow, she had to forgive the people whom had hurt her, including her mother whom just let her be taken without a single word. Avy looked up at her father and began to cry when it was time for him to leave, feeling a soft kiss on her forehead before her eyes snapped open and she came out of the vision. The Jedi Masters stood silently around her as she looked to each of them before speaking of what happened, finally having completed her final Trial as they greeted her as a Jedi Knight.
It would be months before Avy felt comfortable being a Jedi Knight, not feeling that she should have earned it without Caula being there to see and be proud of her in her accomplishment. In the few moments that she did leave her quarters she only ventured into the Jedi Archives to read and calm her mind. It was nearly a year before Avy found her own pace again, becoming a staple of the Jedi Archive once more just as she had been as a child. She develed deep into the books, learning more of Force Deflection, the force power that she had used against her inner darkness, not as a weapon, but as a shield. She found herself so immersed in her reading that she had paid no attention to many around her until she had finished every book that she could find on the subject.
