It had been several days since the meeting with Master Rune Oki. Tov was now officially Gharassks Master and he had taken him to Chandrila to train. It was perfect weather, there was a nearly constant drizzle in the forest were they had been for two days. Tov also was working on his saber techniques while Gharassk slept.
Tog sat on a rock with a remote in his hand that controlled the three metal orbs that circled Ran. Each of them were at a different setting. Sitting watching the Togruta deflect the simi-harmless lasers. He remembered when he took Ply to Shili, they trained in the crystal caves just after she had constructed her saber.
It had been nearly thirty minutes since Gharassk had started this session with the remotes. Switching off the orbs he picked up a canteen of water and got up. Walking over to his Padawan. Anas was just warring his tunic the necklace with his master color crystal. Also his sabers strapped to his waist.
"Take a brake young one and drink. You have done well so far. After lunch it's time for our daily Force training."
Tov wasn't particularly good at this aspect of the training but he was getting better at it as the years went by.

The red Togruta stood surrounded by three remote training droids. Spinning and blocking and having to occasionally dodge the bolts.
He was several times temped to end the session by pushing the droids off and knew there was several times he could have beat them. But he knew the idea of remotes was to hold them back not defeat them.
But before long he had noticed that even with the rain and clouds he had noticed the shadows moved several inches. He had guess that at least 15 minutes had gone by. Than Tov shut the remotes down, and Gharassk shut his blade down catching his breath slightly. He grabbed the canteen, Thanks master. after speaking he took a handful of long gulps.
He had been getting used to calling Tov master pretty much as soon as he was taken as a padawan.
"Take a brake young one and drink. You have done well so far. After lunch it's time for our daily Force training."
Who's turn is it to cook? Gharassk said as he moved to the log he normally sat and slept by, After sitting down he capped the canteen and sat it down waiting for his master to answer.

Tov followed Gharassk over to their camp site where they had constructed a roof so the rain wouldn't put the fire out. It had been years since Tova'nas had been camping. He and Master Wylan used to do it when they were on missions or when he took Tov out to train.
The Twi'lek Master sat on the other side opposite of his Padawan on another rock. Anas reached up and grabbed the crystal that hung around his neck and started thinking of Master Jetter. Twilling the stone in his fingers then the sound of Gharassks voice snapped him out of it.
"I believe it is your turn."
Tov replied looking up from the necklace. It had been eighteen years since he had lost his Master and father figure. He knew that Wylan would be proud of him for what he had accomplished. Looking over and seeing his canteen by his bag he reach out and called it with the force. The leathery pouch floated its way into Tova'nas' hand, popping the top off he took a sip of it. After he was done he sat it next to him and looked back to Ran who now what fixing lunch.
"Gharassk, is there a particular form you would prefer."

The answer to his question came fairly quick, "I believe it is your turn." Gharassk nodded as he started pulling a few big logs and smaller ones into the fire to heat it up to a cooking temperature, not just one that would keep them warm.
The logs had been cut down with his lightsaber for a while, but than he decided to start using a real tool for the job, an Ax. Gharassk than popped the top off one of the of the crate that held the food stuffs, he also took a pot with a long handle and put the soup in it and than held it over the fireplace using the force, it took a bit more concentration because at the same time he was preparing a Nerf steak, and once he was done with that a small amount of bread rolls that he would butter after cooking.
"Gharassk, is there a particular form you would prefer."
Gharassk looked up from the preparing almost dropping the hovering soup into the fire but catching it quickly. Well... I've noticed i do a lot of defensive stances in combat, and attack only when an opening is present. Soresu sounds like it should fit me.
Gharassk looked up finally putting all he was cooking over the fire, and glancing back up to his master Tov.

The purple Twi'lek watched as his Padawan prepared the lunch using he Force. He knew that Gharassk was well trained in the Counselor aspects. Tov knew that he had to switch up his training style with this one. This would be his most challenging feat to date.
Looking over the fire and pot that was hovering over the it. He was taken aback by the fact that Ran picked Soresu. The Master wasn't trained in that form and was unsure what to do. The form he did know was Shien, which was similar to Soresu. Though Anas preferred the unorthodox grip style over traditional Shien.
"Im not trained in that form. Although I have mastered Shien and its unorthodox grip style. They are somewhat similar."
Tov hopped that was alright with Gharassk.
Setting there for a few moments watching the fire dance in the breeze. The crackling of the wood was peaceful. It was somewhat nice to get away from the big city and people for awhile. Has much Tova'nas loved the people at the Temple he needed a break every once in a while.
He remembered what Master Oki said. That if he wanted Gharassk to open up he must make the attempt first.
"You know, I lost my Master too. It was after I was Knighted, but it still hurt all the same. I know it isn't the same as having one fall to the Dark Side. Though to this day I still see that Dark Jedi sliding his saber through Master Jetters chest when I sleep. That was right at eighteen years ago."
Tov sighed hopping that didn't make Gharassk second guess having Tov as a Master.

Gharassk was stirring the soup as Tov was speaking, "Im not trained in that form. Although I have mastered Shien and its unorthodox grip style. They are somewhat similar." Gharassk shrugged, Well...I suppose that'll work. Maybe further into my training I can learn it, It'll provide something for you to learn too i guess.
Than after a good few seconds Tov began speaking again, telling a story to Gharassk one that he listened to well.
Gharassk was haunted by those last few words, he had nightmares like the ones Tov had described about the people he saved, and even though he had already saved them he still had them at times, would they never end?
You mean like nightmares? Gharassk asked already knowing the answer was most likely a 'yes'. What would you suggest about keeping them from coming? Meditation? Gharassk asked finally.

Looking at his apprentice knowing that he needed to answer him. It was hard knowing the proper thing to say at times. Especially in such an early stage of the training. The first couple of months of training a Padawan was very crucial. It is in those months where the bonds are formed between Master and Padawan.
"It takes time my young Padawan. Clearing ones mind is key to overcoming such thing. Also the stronger the bond we have with the person the harder it is to overcome such a devastating loss."
The Twi'lek wasn't used to being so philosophical, since most of his time was saber training. Though he had confidence that Gharassk would understand what he was trying to say. Looking down at the pot the stew was now boiling.
"Gharassk, i believe the stew is done."
Tov infored Ran, giving him a half-smile. It was shaping up to be a good partnership between the Togruta and himself. And only time will tell how close they will become. Will they become as close has Tov was to Waylon and Plya to himself. Tov viewed Plyaa'wan to he like a little sister, he loves her live one.

"It takes time my young Padawan. Clearing ones mind is key to overcoming such thing. Also the stronger the bond we have with the person the harder it is to overcome such a devastating loss."
Gharassk gave a understanding nod, he knew clearing ones mind was important, he often did that when live so getting hard to deal with, so he knew it's importance.
"Gharassk, i believe the stew is done."
Gharassk came out of his daze and pulled the pot out of the fire setting it on a makeshift table they had been using, all it was was a stump of a log that Gharassk had cut to a flat surface; but it had worked.
He had an old bowl sitting for his stew, Mind holding the steak? He said to Tov, as he reverted his attention to the pot that he had just sat down, he grabbed two bowls, one for his portion of the stew, and one for Tov's. After getting the bowls full and handing one to Tov, he took the steak back and held it a bit longer over the fire, before he thought it done.
He shaved off half of the small Nerf steak for himself and half for Tov before eating a little. While he was putting a bit of pepper into his stew he began to start with his Question, something that had been on his mind for a little while, Master...I think I've gotten to know my way around the camp enough, He stopped there to blow on the hot spoonful of stew and take a bite, than spoke again, I was thinking a hike in the woods would be nice, and as far as I've studied about this planet, i haven't come across any accounts of dangerous animals out there, you think we could stray off after a while?
Gharassk wasn't trying to get away from training, but sometimes just normal parts of life gave life lessons, he remembered the time he and Vance healed a plant as proof of that fact.

Tov took the steak for a minute as Gharassk served the soup. After handing back to his Padawan the Twi'lek took the bowl. Dipping he spoon into the bowl and taking a bite of the it. It was better the second day. The flavors blended nicely together. After the nerf staeak had been cooked, he took it and cut a piece off and ate it.
Looking up at Ran when he called for him. Listening to his question he pondered it for a little bit. He had been training Gharassk pretty hard the last several days. Maybe a break was in order. The Padawan had been quiet well, he had certainly proved to be a superb pupil. Taking another bite of his soup the purple Twi'lek swallowed then spoke.
"I suppose a break is in order. But you must promise me that you will not waver in your training."
Tov studied the young Padawan wondering what his responds would be. The Master had a good idea what it was he Gharassk had surprised him so far. There could he more surprises down the road.

"I suppose a break is in order. But you must promise me that you will not waver in your training."
Gharassk slurped another spoonful of the surprisingly good soup, at least better than some of this other attempts.
Of coarse i wont loose any training time... in fact i was thinking about that, maybe i could bring along a data pad to read while we're out there, that way i kinda' get two birds one stone, a break and some studying.
Gharassk called a small pepper shaker to him and put some on his steak and only a pinch in his soup before offering it to Tov.
Gharassk was happy that for the most part he would be able to get away from the camp. He needed the chance to focus what he was learning.

Tov smiled at the comment that Gharassk made. He was going to take a break to study. That was a new one for the Twi'lek, but he had to give it to Ran. He had great potential, though Tov could still feel a burden plaguing Gharassk. He knew that to get get him ready for the Trails he must have his Padawan over come that burden.
"So my young Padawan learner. I have faith you will keep to your word."
Tov spoke with pride in his voice.
Standing he rinsed out his bowl and his plate that had his steak on it. Placing them both back in the container that kept their supplies. Knowing that keeping his cloak with him would be pointless during the hike. Removing it and setting it next to the rock he was just sitting on.
He was not just standing his his duel shade of purple robes. Some say that it was hard sometimes to determine if Tov was wearing cloths from far away but when they got closer they could tell. The robes were a lighter shade than his skin, even the darker color of his boots and belt.
"Shall we"
Glancing over at Gharassk Ran as he secured his leather canteen on his hip.

"So my young Padawan learner. I have faith you will keep to your word."
Gharassk smiled finishing his food; it was good to know he was trusted by his new master. Gharassk grabbed his backpack just in case it was needed he placed the data pad in one of the outside pockets and put a rain cover over it in-case the drizzle began again. He made sure his saber was clipped to his belt and water canteen was full and noticed Tov remove his own outer cloak.
Gharassk knew why he did, they would burden him down, "Shall we" Gharassk nodded pulling his hood up, If it's all the same I'll keep mine, i don't like getting wet. He smiled looking up at the sky that favored rain for the day. He could see into the tree tops and past them into the Grey sky. He thought back remembering how it was raining on Coruscant the day he left for Drukenwell with Teer Ka and Lana.
He grabbed a near by stick that was laying on the wet ground, he pulled a few twigs off of it turning it into a walking stick as he slowly walked with Tov into the forest...

Walking along side the Togruta he was reminded or his days as a Padawan. He looked at to his Master, some say that they were the closest anyone had ever seen a Padawan and a Master. Reaching up touching the crystal, he had thought of putting it in a saber at one point. Though he decided against it, he couldn't bare to do that.
They had been walking for a good five to ten minutes when he stopped. Looking around he noticed that there were hardly any animals in the woods.
"Do you have any information about the wildlife, Gharassk?"
Tov said as he started walking again. He had thought of wrapping his lukku around his neck but he was sweating from the humidity as it was. Unhooking his canteen taking a sip then placing it back he started to enjoy the walk. Master Tova'nas kept himself mindful of his surroundings. He could sense everything moving around him.
The canopy kept out most of the rain that was now starting to drizzle on the duo. Tov didn't regret leaving his cloak behind. He knew it would weigh him down if they so happen to find themselves in trouble. Checking on how secure his sabers are then the necklace on his belt from Alana. He thought of her every so often, he wondered what had happen to her. If she was alright, if she had made it off Tatooine. All things things ran through his mind as he took in the scenery.

The duo made it to a small clearing and Tov spoke asking a question,
"Do you have any information about the wildlife, Gharassk?"
Gharassk Nodded, I read most of the information clip i downloaded onto this, He removed the data pad from his backpack scrolling through it double checking his source, In the wildlife section i didn't read any thing about dangerous creatures. Most of em are sciddish. Gharassk pointed out looking up again to Tov who had once again been messing with a Crystal that looked like that of a lightsaber's.
Gharassk had felt a force connection from it as if it did once belong to a saber, and thought more than once on asking about it.
I notice you play with that a lot... He pointed out the Crystal on Tov's chest, Where did you get it?

Looking around as his Padawan checked the data pad that he had pulled out of the pack. It was peaceful in the forrest, far away from the city. All they could hear was the gentle drizzle of the rain on the leaves. The chirping of birds and the calls of the different wildlife that occupied the area.
He knew that Gharassk was going to someday ask about the crystal around his neck. Reaching down and raising it up.
Lets keep walking while I tell you… This was the crystal that was in my Masters lightsaber. It was eighteen years ago, we were on Phaeda. We had gotten a tip that there was a Dark Jedi pestering the locals. It was there that Master Jetter was struck down and in a feat of rage I killed the Dark Jedi. Not before the Dark Sider smashed Master Jetters saber. He also left this."
Tov stopped and removed his robes revealing the scar running diagonal from his right side to left side. It was then he realized that Gharassk Ran is the perfect Padawan to have. He was intuitive and wants to know everything possible.

Gharassk nodded as he began his walk with Tov as he explained the story.
Gharassk continued walking with Tov through the peaceful jungle. This Master Jetter... he was your master correct? Gharassk asked moving past a tree as he asked using his walking stick to scare off a small animal that attempted to crawl up his leg.
He was glad he wasn't trying to be sneaky because with every step either of the pair made it was accompanied by a ear tingling "Crunch! Crunch!" sound.
Gharassk stopped at a nice open area that had several large rocks, he leapt to the top of one and looked behind in the direction they had come from and with a crane of the neck was barley able to see the top of the makeshift tent they had set up.
He then leapt back down waiting to see if they would stop for a slight break or continue on farther.

As they stopped in a clearing he looked over to his Padawan.
"Yes, he was my Master, my mentor, and he was like that father to me."
Tov thought for a moment then he looked around. There were rocks of all shapes and sizes in this little clearing. It would be a perfect spot for the Force training Gharassk was missing due to this little hike they were on.
"Well, my Padawan. I want you to stack that pile of rock in three pyramids using the Force only. If you can do it we for go remotes tomorrow. But it you fail we duel… Oh and you do this blindfolded."
Tov glanced over at his pupil who now was probably wondering what he had gotten himself into. The Twi'lek new that Gharassk had great potential, so he had to push him to have it come out.
The purple Master found a nice log to sit on to observe his student. He knew the Togruta Padawan could do it, but did Gharassk believe he himself could do it.

"Well, my Padawan. I want you to stack that pile of rock in three pyramids using the Force only. If you can do it we for go remotes tomorrow. But it you fail we duel…"
Gharassk thought it would be a breeze... until Tov finished, "...Oh and you do this blindfolded."
Gharassk stopped for a brief second looking at the rocks he had been told to lift, with a shrug he began a search for a blind fold or something he could use as one at least.
Gharassk had at an early age been taught like other younglings to block remotes without sight. So he assumed it wouldn't be to hard.
When Gharassk had finally found something that would work decently he knelt down on both knees and began to meditate for several long moments, and than began to reach out and feel for them.
For inspiration he thought back to early teachings "The force resides in every living thing... from the rocks on Alderaan, to the lakes on Naboo..."
Gharassk often remembered that what one of the clan masters had taught him.
Gharassk by this time was slowly moving one of the larger rocks to make a base for one of the towers he had been tasked with building. Gharassk began looking for the others reaching... reaching... reaching.... Found one! he thought to himself. He began stacking that one as well, Man i wish i had counted the rocks before i began... Gharassk thought to himself again, the slow process was just beginning.

"Clear your mind. Think about nothing but the rocks"
The Twi'lek encouraged his Togruta Padawan. Sitting on the log that was a couple feet away from the pile. Tov watched as one by one the rocks were stacked. He had done the same thing with Plya, she could do it standing on her hands. Though like her master Tov, she was more proficient with a saber.
After a few more moments of watching Gharassk move the rocks. He felt a presence coming up behind him. Turning it was just a little creature, similar to a kangaroo rat. Tove reached into his pouch in his belt and took out a piece of meat. Placing it in his fingers he offered it to the little guy. The rodent took it and scurried back into the woods.
Anas turned his attention back to his Apprentice that was still working on the rocks. Taking out a small piece of meat placing in his mouth.
"Let the Force flow through you. Work with it not against it, my Padawan. Be one with it."
Those words were the last that Jetter said to Tov before he went before the Council to be Knighted. They still hold true to this day, he misses his Master greatly.

"Clear your mind. Think about nothing but the rocks"
Gharassk nodded already ahead of Tov, he knew long ago to do ones best with the force one must be calm, collected, patient, and most of all have a clear mind.
While he was lifting a set of smaller rocks he felt a bit of movement off to one side from the fact Tov didn't say anything about it Gharassk didn't worry about it and continued on.
"Let the Force flow through you. Work with it not against it, my Padawan. Be one with it."
By this time Gharassk had a feel for the rocks and knew them by size, this gave him enough confidence to stand up and continue. He was now starting on the second and third towers with the first one finished and balanced out well and only requiring a slight amount of Gharassk's attention to keep it upright.
You know I'm used to moving big boxes in the temple and this isn't very different at all.... He stopped to grab another Set of rocks and begin stacking them, The only real difference is the boxes are smooth, with the rocks you have to find the best spots to put them. Gharassk was proud of himself, he thought he was doing quite well...
