Var paced back and forth liked a caged animal, glaring in an omnidirectional fashion and mentally running through a laundry list of Huttese curses at her misfortune and the lack of action.
"Easy there tiger, you're wearing a hole in the floor."
Blazinda Kast's relaxed voice helped the Twi'lek swoop racer a little bit, and her shoulders slumped a little as her pent-up frustration was replaced with the desire to collapse wearily in a comfortable chair and crash. Instead, she had to wait.
The pale woman lowered herself onto the chair in an empty garage in the Ahto City swoop track, which was precisely the problem. Empty. The night before, she'd left her bike in the garage, locked and shut, and the next morning when she'd come to work on it, it was gone.
Bike-napped. Stolen. Heinous crime of heinous crimes.
While the Selkath authorities promised action and a safe return, Var's next race was three days away, and she needed the swoop back before then, just to make sure everything was working properly. One little mistake and she could be splattered across a track and getting poured out of her racing suit.
Pale arms, bare from the shoulder out, reached up rubbed her headtails, pulling them over her shoulders to get them out of the way of the chair's back. She looked down at the Incom logo on her tanktop and groaned.
"What's Incom gonna say?"
Blazinda reached over and patted her Twi'lek boss on the knee, though the touch wasn't really felt through the stiff brown canvas of her pants.
"It'll be OK. We put out the details at the bounty office. For ten thousand credits, someone's bound to go find the bike and bring it back in time."
Var sighed wearily as she stared up at the ceiling, fingers tracing over the lightsaber hilt that barely protruded from the side pocket on her leg.
"I hope so Blazinda. Otherwise Incom is gonna throw a fit, and put my ass on a silver platter and then hand it to me."
Blazinda giggled, then shut up as Var sent a glare her way.

Kaz wasn't sure what it would be like, his contact told him that there was a job for him on Manaan, but work was work. So he agreed. His contact failed to mention that the the target wasn't a sentient being, but cargo hauling. Not that Kaz felt himself above hauling freight, it was more he felt it a waste of his skill set. Any sentient with a star ship could have retrieved the three crates. Three crates weighing next to nothing. Kaz didn't ask their contents and didn't feel inclined to look, the fact that the pay covered his cost again by half was incentive enough to do it. Kaz finished his delivery and was walking away from the constabulary when his eyes caught sight of the Bounty Office. ' Why not,' He thought ' I'm here anyways, and maybe this time there won't be freight involved but an actual mark.' So he headed over to find work planet side. After sifting through the myriads of low level wants and warrants the Force led Kaz to a listing that seemed intriguing, apparently a champion swoop racer had there bike stolen, not much information was given but Kaz couldn't shake the feeling that this was why he was on Manaan to begin with. ------------------------------------------------------- Kaz walked to the door of the Ahto City Swoop track and asked to be directed in towards the garage of his potential clients. Upon ascertaining the directions he headed over to the empty swoop garage and knocked loudly on the side entrance to see if they were still at work and what details he could get from them taht weren't listed in the advert.

A banging noise came from the side door into the swoop garage level, and Blazinda leaned back in her chair, peering around the hall to see if anyone else was going to get the door. No one was headed for it, so the half-Epicanthix woman shrugged and got up.
"They can just go around to the front entrance," Var pointed out as she folded her arms.
"Yeah, but maybe it's a cute guy. We need to get you on a few dates."
The Twi'lek rolled her eyes and let the subject drop as her mechanic walked over to the door and popped it open, coming face to face with a Mirialan man who was rather eye-catching.
Blazinda's chocolate eyes darted back and forth between their garage space and the Mirialan man, her mind already wondering if she could turn any of this into a date for her boss.
"Why hello there, come right on in," She said cheerily, motioning for him to enter with an arm.
"Hey Dia," she yelled, "Why don't you come and say hello, I think you might waaaaaant to!"
"I swear Blazinda, if you're trying to set me up on a date with another bum I'm going to beat you senseless..."
Var rose from her seat and stepped out into the corridor, arms still folded as she looked at the yellow-green man. He was definitely hunky, better than what Blazinda usually dragged in. Poor bastard was probably lost.
"Hi, I'm Dia. The girl holding open the door is Blazinda. Can we help you with something?"

Kaz walked into the Garage, and feeling slightly awkward by the look the female mechanic and then even more by the the exchange between her and the Twi'lek woman with alabaster skin. She introduced herself and the mechanic followed by a question that he couldn't tell if it was loaded or not.
" Hello ladies." Kaz said as he gave each a quick nod to each in turn."I am Kaz, and I came because I had acquired your missive at the bounty board. It seemed odd to me that you posted a stolen speeder there, but the information was sparse. What can you tell me?" He had accentuated the you slightly as he had time to take in the Twi'leks features.
She was dressed fairly modestly, especially for a Twi'lek female, though Kaz's judgement was slightly skewed as most of the ones he had seen were dancing girls, at least that was the nicest way Kaz could think to put it. But Dia's modesty was somehow refreshing. He tried to keep his eyes focussed on the parts of her anatomy that would not get him in trouble as he quickly glanced over her frame.
"Can you tell me anything more? and what about security vids?"

Var stepped back into their individual garage bay and rummaged through the desk, finding a datacard and handing it to the Mirialan swiftly, providing an explanation as she did so.
"The whole garage facility has four entrances, with security cameras at each point. They caught two masked men carrying my swoop out through the back exit. I got a copy of the tapes before the Ahto City police confiscated the originals."
The Twi'lek woman shifted her weight and walked over to a perch in the corner, on which was a large black bird. Var petted the avian and lifted her up onto a shoulder as she continued with her timeline.
"I left at 20:00, and locked up the garage bay after me. Blazinda came in at 07:00 and found the lock sliced and the swoop gone. If you ask me, I think it was Darvia Thenali, a Zeltron racer. She's one spot behind me in the ranking. If I miss a race, she passes me and hits second place."
Blazinda nodded as she sat in one of the seats, concurring in her usual chipper tone.
"She knows she can't beat Midnight fair and square, so she's probably trying to cheat," the half Epicanthix woman said, referencing Var's racing name.
Var agreed as she tapped her bird lightly on the beak, earning a bump in the ear cone in reciprocity.
"She's probably behind it. I don't want her hurt or anything, but if we could prove she was behind it and get her booted from the track for the rest of the season, it'd be great. Do you think you can find my swoop though?"
