I'd always been told by everyone that the end result of a duel was always death, and that it was all about killing the other character. I believe at least one of you said that was the 'reward' for winning. That's the thing I don't like, that's the reason I don't duel. I am not a fan of death being 'assigned' based on who got more points, and I was assuming you'd be doing that here.

i am really sorry if anyone assumed I was negative for the sake of it, or because I have never done a duel. I was negative because I think there are flaws in it... Just because I have no experience of Dueling beyond reading posts, I don't think that means that my opinion has any less value than anyone elses. If you don't want opinions then don't post it here.

and I do have faith that the Staff want to do what is best for the community, but sometimes people don't agree on the way to do it... You know I love you all anyway.

I do intend to try entering a Charrie or two. If I did not care I would not have bothered to post. Yes I am intimidated, but then it is my nature to be intimidated. I dare say I will be terrible, but I at least want to try..

wow, just wow.

so, i know alot of you are new, and alot of you think there is a conspiracy to make the GFC characters god level...... but srsly???

i have two of the strongest characters on the site, and i got my butt handed to me many times by a mandalorian with a blaster, because ProjectSunFire was that damn good at writing and anticipated my moves in his posts. he won most of those duels, and he was not super stat/strong, and yet he found a way. If you are not confident in your writing ability then don't make excuses as to why you think this wont be fair. Learn how about improve your writing so that stats don't mean as much. if everything in SW was about force wielders with lightsabers, why would they bother including the bounty hunters, or smugglers into the story. Soldiers get outstanding training, and can be taught or learn to deal with force wielders.

Your concerns are heard, but the notion that these fights wont be fair because some GFC character is going to come in and force choke u to death is moronic. that wouldn't be fair, and he'd lose points and lose the duel.

There have been times where a winner was awarded a kill post after the duel's completion. This is something that doesn't come into play unless both parties agree to it beforehand. If you don't agree to it, then there's no problem.

About time. Having run about four such tournaments successfully myself, you can take my word for it, it's a great idea. The biggest problem I've encountered with such tournaments has actually been getting people to enter more than anything else. Considering the size of this forum though, there should easily be enough volunteers to get a decent sized tournament together. Needless to say, I'm down for this.

I'm down. It all sounds well and good but the concerns seem to be based around "stronger" contestants smashing "weaker" ones. But it should be about the writing and creativity during battle, everyone here knows I'm a big supporter of the "even the strong can fall and fall hard' mentality.

So long as everyone doesn't go insane saying people are unfairly matched up (in the bouts) it should be a heck uva lotta fun.

So judging from the votes, I'd say we def will have enough people who want to enter to rock this. At the bare minimum, two brackets of ten people each, winner of each bracket duels for the championship.
