Bio:
Born to a poor family on the desert world Mirial, Krishna's life was destined to be a bleak one. Her father worked as a moisture farmer, settling his homestead on the outskirts of a rural establishment, deep into the sand dunes. His wife Darsha helped him, raising livestock for food and resources and helping to pump water to the towns. The pair loved each other, no matter how poor or destitute they were. The couple gave life to three children. Krishna is the eldest, followed by her two young brothers, who are twins.
The family pitched in to keep the farm running and keep a roof over their heads. Times were not easy, and they often went hungry. Of the three children, Krishna was the luckiest to get the most education her parents could afford. She has helped raise her brothers, and loves her family very much.....and yet, a desire burns in her heart. She wants to get out, to see the galaxy, to experience adventure. Krishna yearns to leave this boring life behind and find a calling in the galaxy, perhaps to as far as the Core worlds. She does not know how she will do so, nor what she will do...but it is a goal in her heart. As she grows older, that desire has grown. Life is very calm and safe, but very tiresome and boring.
Despite the fear that she will devistate her family, Krishna plans to escape somehow. She has been planning to run away someday, and the day quickly approaches. She has been secretly stashing away credits and supplies to make her way to the starport. There is talk of war, danger, and evil, and all of that excites her. If only she could see the gleaming spires of Coruscant, or the rolling plains of Alderaan (all myths to her)....
Her family practices a belief in the life-sustaining Force. Although she nor her family are Force sensitive, they respect the ultimate power. Krishna would like to meet a Jedi Knight one day.
These days she spends helping her family around the farm with chores, but keeps her eyes on the horizon, daydreaming....

"Krishna.....Krishna.....Krishna!"
The sound of her mother's voice made Krishna snap out of her daydream. She turned her eyes from the distant sand mound looming so far ahead in the darkness, and looked back at her mother.
Her mother was bending, frail body struggling to lift the container from the machinery that mined deep underground for moisture. "Coming, mother," Krishna muttered in a song-like way, hurrying to her mother's side.
They transfered the water to a smaller jug, which Krishna balanced perfectly on her head as she had done countless times before. Her mother returned the container and lowered it carefully down the well.
"That will be enough for the night," Darsha said, nodding. She wrapped her dark veil over her green face to protect it from the cold desert wind, and her daughter did the same. The sun was slowly slinking behind the sand dunes.
"Come, the wild cats will be out soon," she continued, also placing a jug atop her head. The women had a long walk back home, and they did not want to face another attack from Mirial's deadliest predators.
Krishna sighed, following her mother up the sandy path back home. They had made this walk so many times. She felt tired after a long day's work on the farm, and this was the only time she could talk to her mother one to one.
"Mother - can we go into town tomorrow?" she asked hopefully, placing one hand on the heavy jug atop her head. She heard her mother sigh.
" Krishna, for the last time, no. You know your father did not feel well again today. We simply do not have the time or money." Her mother turned tired eyes on her.
"Why do you keep asking, anyway?" Krishna chewed her lower lip. She shrugged as if she didn't care. "The boys' birthdays are coming up....I thought we might get something special," she lied.
Her mother only shook her head. "They will understand....it was a tough year." There was an exhausted tone in her voice. Krishna knew better than to keep pushing.
They arrived home after several minutes of contented silence. The day had been long, and now supper was on everyone's minds. Her father and brother were all washed up and sitting at the table, while her mother finished preparing food. Krishna served glasses of water, ruffling her brothers' heads and smiling as she passed them.
She excused herself, walking to a small backroom in the house. It was her bedroom. Glancing behind nervously, she made sure she was alone before kneeling to reach under her bed. In her hand was a small sack, which she emptied onto her other hand.
Credits fell into her palm, and she recounted to make sure. It was just enough. This would buy her a ride off Mirial, if she found the right pilot. She hid her little treasure again, then ran to join her family for dinner.
