*nods* Indeed.
So do you want to do a separate, smaller thread on Concord Dawn when they leave and then go to Gargon in a new thread, or just put that and the actual takeover/mission into one thread on Gargon and just do a bit of summarizing?

Well, this is my first SWU RP, so I wouldn't mind going the extra mile (providing that it isn't any trouble to you).

It'd be no trouble. It'd just mean that the mission itself would take longer before finished, but that's no biggie. A lot of stuff on this site moves slow. ;p
Plus it could give us a chance for our characters to feel out each other a bit before diving in.

Indeed. I'd like the opportunity to have some socializing and pleasantries before Jorra and Ambria start executing people. Also, congratulations on your 8,100 post count!

Sounds good. I'm hoping to actually catch up on some long-overdue posts this week, so I can finally get this and some other things that have been waiting started up. (Unless work stuff interferes again like last week.) And thanks.

I just reread all of this, and think I have a game-plan that might work pretty well (and incorporate all of our prep) for getting us down onto the planet.
We enter Gargon's system, a menagerie of gear available on the ship, and meet the cell members in orbit. Two or four of them come aboard, and they fill us in on everything that might be useful for the mission.
Ambria and Jorra get into the deadened pod (rip out its signal gear, line it with lead or some similar material, and fill all of the empty space of the equipment we ripped out with either a timed or remotely activated explosive material) that has been loaded with the stuff that we figure will be useful. Drop into orbit with it, while up in the ship the remaining cell members report a sudden escape pod malfunction to Republic authorities.
Once close, they drop out of the pod with the gear while it sails off into the distance. The post knew it was coming, so they send out some people to retrieve it but otherwise don't care. Our buddies in the cell tell them that they're having some other malfunctions, and they'll be down to pick it up in a few hours.
Then we're in position to attack, we have a manned escape vessel coming down in an amount of time that's pretty close to the "By now, if we haven't won, we're not going to" threshold, and there's a great big bomb sitting in the middle of whatever hangar facilities they have. Maybe Shrike figures it out, because he's competent.
That just makes the look on his face when the alarms start going off even better.

Hmm, I like it.
Just one clarification... Jorra and Ambria arrive in their ship, the yacht, but then when the cell people come up there, they move across to their ship? I mean, I'm assuming you mean they use their escape pod, since they're calling in the malfunction?
Otherwise, I think it sounds good.

The ship takes 2 to 4 people to operate, so by having a pair of rebels come over to fly it and radio in about the "faulty" pod, we save it from just being left in orbit. It can also be used to come exfiltrate Jorra and Ambria f things go south.
EDIT: Since the yacht already has a four-person escape pod, which is ample room for two troops and infiltration/sabotage gear, I meant to imply that some cell members come over to our ship and we launch in our pod, which they then call in as a malfunction.

*crosses fingers* ;p Well, here's the thread -- swrponline2.proboards.com/thread/19427/prelude-conquest-julianI called it 'part one' 'cause I figure the main one on Gargon will be 'part two' so I didn't have to come up with a separate name for this prelim. thread. Also, I hope it's all right. I can always change something. But I left it pretty open-ended for now. oh, and I figure you can name the yacht, if you'd like. Plus, I thought I'd bring up Ambria's Gargon contact(s) in another post once they get talking. (Didn't want the opening post to get too unnecessarily long.)

I, in turn, hope it's alright that my first post really doesn't have the same meat that your's does. Unfortunately, my character's history is still limited to creation background, so I tried to make do and give a decent impression of her without sharing her life's story. I'd like to think that's mission accomplished, but only you can decide!

Got my reply up, finally. (Was going to wait and post it till I had caught up on all my threads and do all at once, so I didn't get behind, but I know you've been waiting for long enough.)
Also, I was going to have Ambria store her stuff in the shield escape pod, but then I decided that that's probably info only Jorra got. Since she's higher ranked officer and probably got more info in her briefing.
Anyway, my post is up... and I hope it works for you.
PS: You can take your time with yours; not sure when I'll be able to get a reply up myself, lol. I've got others to catch up on.

So I'm back now (a full year-and-a-half later), and I'm so sorry for leaving you hanging. Since Gargon has now been taken, and Ambria has undoubtedly progressed beyond this point in her story, I can't imagine you have any desire to finish a long dead thread. Still, I'm sorry for dropping, hope you'd be willing to thread with me again in the future.

It's okay. But actually, Ambria hasn't really progressed at all. I haven't had her in a thread since the events of Gargon (timeline-wise). Haven't even posted with her in months either. (Actually, I just checked, there was one thread I did post-Gargon but it never got off the ground, and was more of a meet thread, so no progression there anyway). I'm not really taking on new threads right now, but I would happy sometime down the line to thread with you again.
