Sol'kanar slept unquiet. He scrabbled deep rents into stone he rose to his feet. The cave seemed ideal at first, but food was proving scarce. A sepia beam, no wider than his wrist, let him know that the day was nearly over. Soon he would hunt. This pleased Sol'kanar. He paced the the last moments away in his small den, grogginess giving way to tense anticipation. He ground his claws into the rock walls, honing his claws for the coming night. His tail scattered bones angrily into the water. Sol'kanar attacked the walls in earnest until light faded dull blue. He sat for a moment to catch his breath before easing into the water.
He dove deep underwater, swimming in powerful strokes. The water swallowed what little light there was, leaving Sol'kanar alone in the inky nothing. He swam forward quickly, shouldering past moldering corpses, their stomachs heavy with stone. He grabbed blindly as he swam, quickly tearing a limb free, it's bloated flesh a fine meal for the trip. He swam further, his powerful tail pushing him further and further away from home until he finally surfaced. His nostrils gasped for breath just above the surface. He tread water while eating, lurking just under the surface.
He staked out the corner of a massive room, dimly lit by green and purple patches of moss on the walls and floor. Smooth walls formed by underground water lined this oval chamber. Careless rocks and boulders lay haphazardly across the floor, in a conical pattern from the single opening in the far wall. His senses numb from the deprived swim over, he slowly woke to the smell of life within the chambers. He could feel the strength of their divinity through the cave walls
Sol'kanar slowly let go of his meal, letting it silently fall into the dark water. It would not be as hard as he thought to find prey tonight. His muscles tensed at the thought of the hunt as he lurked silently at the water's edge
