Vanquo is a mining and resource world for the nearby ecumenopolis of Taris. Situated in a system of the same name, Vanquo is within traveling distance of other worlds in the Ojoster sector. A rocky, mountainous planet covered in forests and trees, Vanquo is a rugged world with a harsh winter. On clear nights, Vanquo has a brilliant starry sky, with at least one green moon visible from the planet's surface. When the Mandalorian fleet entered the Ojoster Sector, the lightly defended world was seized right before said winter began.
Entrenched in the few mining colonies that dot Vanquo, the world has been largely colonized by members of Clan Ordo and Jendri. These mountain-set fortresses were built to withstand the most brutal of blizzards, and tote history as having stopped the Republic in its tracks before. Where once they helped the Mandalorians take Taris, they are now manned in hopes of helping the Sith secure it. However, unlike the last defense of the fortress planet, the Republic can see the cracks in the historic walls. Primary among them is the definite tension between the Ordo and Jendri defenders; their feud, reaching back to their ancestors who had defended the planet under Mandalore the Ultimate. This mutual distrust is only fueled by Mandalore the Reclaimer’s decision to set the Jendri Chieftain, Geronimo Jendri, as commander of all Mandalorians on-world. Beyond this, the layout of the planet’s fortresses are well-known to Republic intelligence this time around, and taking the defenses by sheer force is no longer the only avenue of attack.
Cue the arrival of the Republic’s Second Auxillary Fleet to the Ojoster Sector, their every move being watched by the Mandalorians. At an initial glance, their strategy seems to be following the old legends; troop ships are dropping land and air forces by the bellyful, and they are once again quickly marching toward the great stone walls of the mountain keeps. While the clans silence their qualms and settle into the embankments, the Republic approaches with confidence that they will end the occupation in its infancy.
