Stalwart-class Republic Heavy Cruiser Name • Stalwart-class Heavy Cruiser Classification • Ship Origin • Kuat Drive Yards Specifications Size • - Height: 112m - Width: 124m - Length: 575m Appearance • At 575 meters the Stalwart-class Heavy Cruiser presents a fairly narrow frame with with a set of 'wings' on the port and starboard, providing extra armor for defense of the engine unit block and has a laterally split hull. A blister with several viewports is on the dorsal surface near the bow. Two hangar bays are mounted on either side; these bays are sealed with energy shield doors and guarded by two point defense guns. The Command Deck is mounted near the rear of the ship close to the shield generator. Additional point defense guns are arrayed in battery banks of four on the dorsal and ventral hull of the ship providing, four arrayed close to the rear, medium and front of the ship, overlapping fields of fire to better protect the cruiser. Six batteries of twin medium and light turbolasers appear displayed with two of each on the ventral and dorsal surface while the rest are starboard and port sides of the ship. Eight heavy turbolaser turrets are mounted on the split section of the cruiser, four under slung on the top section and another four on the lower section, capable of concentrating firepower forwards or in a ship to ship basis. Twenty-Four medium laser cannons are arrayed on four batteries, two on the dorsal and ventral hulls, and two mounted on starboard and port. Four tubes of concussion missiles are placed on the ventral and dorsal hull, whilst four torpedo tubes are set on the fore of the ship. The Stelwart design contains six decks, with deck one being the command deck and combat information center, decks two and three contain the habitation module which has the crew and troop quarters, mess hall, infirmary and an armory. Deck four contained the hangars and flight control, as well firing control. Deck five and six were split with engineering having a larger presence and a section dedicated towards consumable storage. Escape pods were located in all decks with the majority being on decks two and three. All Stalwart-class vessels have a crew of 1097 Naval Personnel and carry 200 troops for security and deployment. Function With a heavy emphasis on ship-to-ship combat, the Stalwart-class does justice to its name. Designed to be a compliment to the lighter frigates and destroyers, the ship is often seen as a line vessel for a battle group, sometimes even as a command vessel for more aggressive commanders, utilizing its powerful shields and heavy armor to endure a slugging match against other vessels whilst unleashing its powerful array of weapons to decimate enemy ships. This endurance and power come to a cost, as its heavy armor and shields make it slower than destroyers and frigates. With an optimization towards weaponry the hangar bays carry a smaller compliment of interceptors and fighters, which is somewhat compensated with the point defense gun batteries. Weaponry
