Aegis-Class Republic Dreadnought/Carrier Name • Aegis-Class Classification • Ship Origin • Kuat Drive Yards Specifications Size • How big is this thing? Give rough estimates in metric measurements (meters) - Height: 100m - Width: 780m - Length: 1.8km Appearance • The Aegis-class has a flattened and elongated diamond shaped hull that eventually tapers into a finned tail-like structure. The vessels exterior features that define its appearance the most are it's three large launch bays one situated on either side of the warship and a third pointing directly out of the front of the ship. The massive bulk is driven by eight massive engines four mounted on either side of the battle carrier's tail section. The finale exterior feature of not is the massive command block resting on top of the ship's dorsal surface that holds both its bridge and air wing command center. Internally the ship consists of six full-size decks and two partial sized decks. Starting from the bottom deck 8 and deck 3 consist largely of storage. Decks 7-4 consists of the vessels huge launch bays, hangers, and maintenance bays with the remaining space including engineering on decks 6 and 5 and the remaining space being allocated to crew amenities. Decks 1 and 2 consists of the ships sensor center, weapon fire control, bridge, space command, and officer quarters and facilities. All of the ship's weapon batteries lay between the armored overhang on either side of the vessel evenly split and alternating between laser cannons and turbo lasers. Its primary firepower comes from its four twin and two triple heavy turbolaser turrets mounted on its dorsal surface with an additional group mounted ventrally. Two vertically launching Quasar Missile launchers are mounted along the centerline dorsally with an additional pair ventrally. Finally, the Aegis-Class' weapons complement ends with 9 twin medium/heavy laser cannon turrets five of which are mounted dorsally with an additional four mounted ventrally Function The Aegis was designed as a hybrid between a supercarrier and a dreadnought, while it is unable to match a dreadnought in firepower or a supercarrier in raw spacecraft. The Aegis is none the less a significant threat in fleet battles. Weaponry
