Give rough estimates in metric measurements (meters) - Height: Variable - Width: Variable - Length: Variable. Appearance • The Lailah-type exoskeleton, named after a bystkyn scientest who died against the Archeri, is among the newest toys Legion has put out, and was created with joint operations from outside sources. The powered armor has a set of 'wings' which have micro jets on their underside. These are lines with a hardened durasteel composite and are very durable, meant to survive in the heat of combat. The rest of the armor is generally made of the same Durasteel composite, but someone who purchases it can opt for more durable material. The armor adds 2 to 3 inches to the natural height of the wearer. The undersuit is a of a body hugging, moisture wicking material under a woven armorweave-kevlar suit. over that is the main armor. The plates are attached with minor overlap to allow for the most movement and flexibility possible. As with most Legion, the eyes and power source glow with a soft light which can be turned off when needed for stealth. The blades can also fold down in a sort of psudo-cape, not getting in the way of combat as well as protecting the wearer's rear flank. Function The Lailah is designed to rapidly deploy in an emergency combat situation. They are vacuum sealed with a small air supply and can work in space with the assistance of possible thruster boosters. It it designed to drop from anywhere as high 20 miles in the air, using the jets to maneuver and survive rather than a parachute. Once groundside, the jets, along with a larger pack built into the back, provide enough power for the wearer to jump into the air and get good flying distance to different targets. It is capable of short time flying before needing to land to recharge, which can vary depending on the amount of time spent in the air. The generator that creates the fuel needed from the air is efficient and can quickly get the user back into the air. The back wings provide the power to bring the wearer into the air and the smaller blades on the shoulders and thighs provide the needed maneuverability when in the air. A smart AI helps control the wings in tandem with the wearer, taking in the motion the wearer does, such as jump flying, and calculates how much thrust is needed to bring the wearer where, as well as recognize movements when in the air and move them in the right direction. Experience wearers of the armor find that they can quickly navigate around the battlefield, working with their teammates to keep foes out of cover. Testing shows that the armor and experienced troops would be critical in helping dealing with the Archeri threat. In the event of damage to the wings, they can be removed via explosive bolts, leaving the wearer without a method for rapid mobility, but they wouldn't be weighted down by the rather heavy, dead wings. Several transponders are fitted to each wing and blade to allow recovery later, if possible. |
