Vartians Wayward Vengence Weapons Name • Vartians Type • Near Human Home World • Vartia. Influence • New Vartia, Conquerskia, Victorloskia, Triumphia, Valtria and Krallia Ethos • Vartians believe that they are superior to all other life forms and appear to exist purely to wage war. They see themselves as the pinnacle of evolution and warfare. These beliefs tend to leave the Vartians to be quite isolated from the rest of the galaxy. Allies • The Republic (grudgingly) Enemies • Anyone who is not them, a being known as The Destroyer (blue skinned, with a blue sword, long tentacle things by his head) (The Destroyer unknown to the Vartians was a Twi'Leak Jedi Knight who managed to defeat them) Rivals • Anyone who is not them Ecology Every single Vartian is an exact genetic copy of the primogenitor, the being all Vartians are cloned from. Everything single Vartian is female. They are uniformly possess the same slim wiry build and exact four foot nine in height. Each has two piercing purple eyes and long fiery ginger hair, their skins are deathly, almost corpse like pale and their mouths filled with sharp teeth. They possess the same small nose and pointed ears, eight fingers, two thumbs, four fingers and a thumb on each hand, ten toes, five on each foot. In description, many point out that from physical description alone they sound similar to humans, but internally they are vastly different. Vartians are obligate carnivores, they cannot digest plant matter of any kind. Within the Vartian mind, there is a sector of the brain called the Kran Val, this specialised sector is designed to extinguish any thoughts of compassion, mercy, kindness or guilt from the Vartian, keeping their hatred pure and strong. Next is the Vartian eye sight, which is rapidly able to adjust to changing light conditions, enabling them to see well in both well lit and poorly lit environments. The Vartian throat and neck though appearing slim, is surprisingly strong as it has been reinforced with additional cartilage, making it difficult to strangle a Vartian or break their necks. Each possesses two hearts, located on the left and right hand sides of the body respectively. A Vartian can continue to operate even if one of these hearts is damaged or destroyed. Due to the toxic nature of their homeworld, a Vartian is resistant to chemical, biological and radiological weapons, though resistant, they still can die or be incapacitated due to exposure. The pointed nature of the Vartian ear, allows them to possess a strong sense of balance. The average life span of the Vartian is up to a one hundred years, though rarely do any live to be as old a fifty as death will usually claim them in battle long before old age even becomes a concern. Each Vartian is deployed into service from their birth pod at the physical age of ten. During their time in the pod, their minds are indoctrinated with Vartian beliefs and standard combat protocols. Upon their deployment they undergo psychological and military training. At the age of fifteen, the recruits who show natural affinities with certain military aspects undergo specialised military training. At age nineteen after nine years of grueling training, a Vartian is considered to be ready for the battlefield. There is no sexual reproduction amongst the Vartians, no thought or concept of love. Culture The Vartians were created to be the ultimate vengeance weapon, unfortunately their creators failed to realise that by designing them to feel only hatred and exist purely for war, might end poorly for them. Since then, the Vartians have formed their own government and nation, the Vartian Republic. At the age of ten, when a Vartian is deployed from their birth pod, they have already undergone several years of indoctrination, filling the recruits' minds with their beliefs and standard combat protocols. This allows a Vartian should the situation deem it so, be immediately capable of fighting. The recruits undergo extensive psychological and military training, further enhancing their indoctrination and belief that Vartians are superior to all non-Vartian life forms. During this training period, the recruits learn to master the infantry weapons of the Vartians, as well as how to strip, clean and reassemble all manner of body armours and weapon systems. Extensive focus is place on operating in contaminated environments. Consequently all Vartians keep their distinctive filtration mask on at all times, even meal times. At the age of fifteen, recruits which showed natural affinitieswith certain aspects of the vast Vartian Military machines undergo specialised training. For example, these include pilots, the crew of armoured vehicles, artillery and the recon forces. The rest continue their training as soldiers but also as starship crew and marines, as the Vartian military might requires all aspects to be filled by it's new recruits. At the age of nineteen, Vartians are assigned to armies, fleets or regiments and sent to the battlefield. An all female species, the Vartian have no concept of love, romance or sexual attraction. Such thoughts have been obliterated from the minds of all by the Karn Val. Yet it is rumoured that if a Vartian suffers a wound to the head and the Karn Val section is damaged or destroyed they can display un-Vartian like emotions, including remorse, guilt and attraction. If any cases are true, Vartians immediately exorcise those who hold such views, by promptly exterminating them. To live as a Vartian is to serve as just a small cog in a complicated war machine, with the unquestionable belief that you are right in your actions and that Vartians are the superior life form in the galaxy. The Vartians hold few fesitvals or events, the most noticeably being a Triumph, where the Vartians hold a military parade to celebrate the conquest of another world, moon, system or destruction of an enemy force. Interestingly, Vartians have no word for retreat nor an concept of it. The closest they can achieve is a tactical withdrawal to a more defensive position. Vartians never surrender either, preferring to fight to the death, even when the odds are stacked against them. As a result few Vartians are ever taken prisoner, thus those that do will determinedly seek a way to end their lives whilst killing their enemies. Vartians themselves do not take prisoners, nor do they show mercy to civilians. Despite their xenophobic and militaristic natures, it comes as a surprise that the Vartians hold a democratic society, with led by a Prime Soldier in the Bunker of Parliament, any Vartian can form a political party provided she has killed one hundred alien life forms. In the Bunker of Parliament, the Parliament of the Vartian Republic meets to govern their territory and command their military might. The Parliament consists of a hundred seats, with each seat being filled by an elected soldier or officer of the Vartian military. There are three main parties, The War Party, The Dominance Party and The Party for Galactic Ceasefire. No one is fooled by the name of the last party, to a Vartian a Ceasefire is when everyone stops shooting and if a Vartian stops firing, then everyone is dead already. Elections are held every twelve years and all Vartians are allowed to vote. The party which receives the most votes, their leader becomes Prime Soldier and has total command of the Vartian Republic. The Vartian Republic's military is organised into strict hierarchies, with the army and fleet being led by Generals and Admirals respectively. Underneath them is the various commanders, colonels, officers, captains, junior officers, platoon and squad leaders. Interestingly, Vartians have no economy nor any form of currency. This makes trading with other nations, combined with their xenophobic history difficult if not near impossible. History Tens of thousands of years ago, the Trepida and the Trepivans were locked in an endless conflict for control of Trepidatia, their mutual home world. Biological, chemical, radio-logical and nuclear weapons had reduced the planet to little more than a ash choked, contaminated wasteland, forcing the population to live in vast underground bunker cities as they worked ceaselessly to end the stalemate and achieve victory, thus ending their two thousand year long war. In their desperation the Trepida turned to their most brilliant scientific mind, a genius, a man named De Karn. He designed many brutal weapons, but none succeeded in breaking the stalemate. Yet when his only child, his daughter was grievously wounded De Karn vowed to destroy the Trepivans once and for all. Taking the mutilated body of his only child, he perfected a race of cloned warriors from her form using a mixture of genetic and psychological engineering. Clad in protective body armour and a filtration mask and transformed into merciless weapons of war. He named his creattions Vartians, meaning Vengeance in the old tongue of Trepida. When the Trepivans finally breached the defensive line of the Trepida they were met by this new species of annihilators. Who would in under six months exterminate not only the Trepivans but also the remaining Trepida, including De Karn. Peace finally came to Trepidatia, but it would be merely the first step in a series of campaigns which would see dozens of worlds invaded, their peoples destroyed or enslaved and adsorbed into the dominion of the Vartian Republic. The Vartians swiftly renamed the world of Trepidatia, as Vartia. Over time the world of Vartia would become a fortress planet, the combination of Vartian defensive structures and the hostile toxic nature of the planet serving as a deterrent to any would be invaders. The Vartians held above all else their fanatically belief in their own superiority, appearing to be dedicated to the destruction or enslavement of all non-Vartian life forms. This was achieved through their power weapons and advanced military doctrines. A specialised section of the brain, the Kran Val, keeps the Vartians' hatred pure and untainted by thoughts of compassion, mercy or kindness. Individually a Vartian is conditioned to obey a superior's orders without hesitation or thoughts of self preservation. In the absence of orders or commanders, a Vartian soldier will fall back on her default directive, the destruction of all non-Vartian life forms. Their expansion was halted only by a being known in their mythology as The Destroyer who wielded a blade of blue fire, his actions halted the Vartian Republic and held them to a treaty, that should the Republic one day call upon the Vartians for aid, that they would come. He is seen as the ultimate enemy of the Vartians and is described as being blue skinned with blue head tentacles. He is perhaps the only thing Vartians fear. The Destroyer, unknown to the Vartians was a Jedi Knight, who managed to defeat them. Not knowing his name, they named him after what he was to them. Though the Vartians have followed the agreement with The Destroyer, they have only done so in the most limited sense, instead of expanding towards the Republic or any other faction or bloc, they have instead focused on claiming systems or worlds without any relation to the other powers of the galaxy, content to grow their numbers. Ever ready for war, the Vartians watched the galaxy burn with the fires of conflict, eager to join the fight. This eagerness had less to due with the protection of the Republic, nor any of it's species, but more if they were capable of defeating the Sith Empire, then their belief in their superiority over all would be unquestionable. Yet the Vartians have been content to watch the Republic, apparently content to see how the war plays out. In reality, inside the Vartian Republic, a vast military build up is underway, with vast armies and fleets being formed in preparation for the day of invasion.
