The Blind Eye Concept • The floating, fortified casino headquarters of the Exchange Location • The skies above Nar Shaddaa, often above the Cerbozz Pit The Blind Eye Casino is a floating megaplex hanging in the skies of Nar Shaddaa above the moon’s infamous smog. The structure is mammoth, its skeleton that of a large space station and its appearance that of a hulk. Despite those qualities, the Blind Eye is arguably the most opulent, fortified, and iconic structure in Hutt Space. The luxury of the casino cannot be overstated. Each of the casino’s spires is decadent to the extreme, offering luxuries unheard of in Hutt Space and barely seen beyond. Rich wooden floors mix with fine marble of varying colors, lavish rugs and decor from across the galaxy dotting both. Artwork can be found in abundance, with every popular style represented. The casino is an architect’s dream and an interior designer’s elysium; no expense was spared in the business’s construction. The thick opulence covers one of the most impregnable buildings in the galaxy. The entire structure is armored to the nines, and every worker from the dancers to the custodians to the chefs to the dealers are, in truth, the Exchange’s creme de la criminal creme. Security matches that of national capitals, with complex systems of cameras, sensors, jammers, detectors, and countermeasures preventing everything from fires to firefights. All are hidden in plain sight, shelled within lavish service and ambience. Many of the casino’s sculptures, for instance, are in truth specialized droids, innocent until their specific purposes are called upon. Casino and Resort The largest and central structure of the Blind Eye is the casino and resort itself. The center floor sports large, ornate spaces filled with bars, gambling tables and machines, and restaurants. Every game known to sentient-kind can be found with tables to spare, along with every cuisine and cocktail. Of special note is the Eye's most popular restaurant, Le Fork, which has garnered a reputation as the finest eatery in all of Hutt Space. Lower floors (closer to the hangars) feature numerous clubs and dance halls ranging in style and clientele. Proper waltzes and posh society coexist with neon-drowned raves and grungy rock halls, all genuine in their dedication to their respective arts. The hangars occupy the lowest decks, most of which are alight and abuzz with the travel of yachts and smaller craft at all hours of the day. Some, however, are kept dark and sealed, only opening for personal use for the Exchange and harboring ships far too stealthy and/or well-armed for the average casino-goer. The lowest hangars never open at all, filled to the gills with droid starfighters kept in reserve. The higher floors house guests in lavish hotel rooms ranging in size from standard to penthouses. Dispersed between them on dedicated floors are resort amenities, which only become more lavish as one ascends. The top echelon of floors are permanently reserved, with a personal invitation from the unlisted guests there acting as the only access up. Behind the scenes, the casino works as the center of the Exchange itself. Leadership from across the organization meet on the regular in plain sight, and a massive logistics network coordinates the entire criminal empire from reception desks and pazaak tables. The Cybertower One of the Eye's three adjoining, smaller towers, the Cybertower is affectionately referred to as "The Gremlin Pit". The building features the latest in electronic entertainment for guests. Ranging from high-class arcades to droid fighting pits, the Cybertower caters to the technologically-inclined. The lower floors house large droid bays, massive server arrays, and most importantly, the lair of the Blind Eye's elite contingent of hackers. The building operates as the Exchange's nerve center, keeping tabs on the holonet and digital world. The Battletower Another of the Eye's three adjoining, smaller towers, the Battletower is where customers go for blood. Large arenas and demonstrations of exotic weapons operate on the regular, thrilling guests with combat, explosions, and everything in-between. The business there is unique in that it is some of the few truly non-lethal arenas on the Smuggler's Moon, featuring a rotating roster of famous fighters and challenges. Beneath the arenas, the martial might of the Exchange surges. Mercenaries and enforcers of every nature utilize armories, weapon dealers, and a large garage of vehicles and ships to keep the Exchange's interests safe. The Venomtower The last of the Eye's three adjoining, smaller towers, the Venomtower provides the venue for sporting events and shows galore. The indoor sports fields and arenas host concerts and games with equal grace, and with rich variety. The Venomtower even hosts racing events, wherein the numerous arenas and portions of the outside are connected and cordoned off into a hover-capable race track. Above the stadiums and arenas, the bulk of the Exchange's deals are made in VIP viewing boxes, luxurious betting halls, and cocktail lounges. Influential individuals from within and beyond the syndicate are treated like kings as they discuss grand deals with the utmost privacy and decadence. Being invited to negotiate within the Venomtower is a luxury few in the galaxy can imagine, and the stakes that accompany such discussions cannot be overstated. Legacy Clause • The Blind Eye is managed by the Exchange-affiliated PCs and NPCs. In the event that all PCs are inactive, it is to be assumed that the NPCs and current criminal elements have continued its operation. |
