Overall Looks • Having roughly just reached full physical maturity, Kuruuga has settled into a dark greenish outer-skin, with a tan and pink interior. He is heterochromatic, with one green and one yellow eye. To a non-Hutt, besides his eyes, Kuruuga is a typical Hutt: large, slimy, and slow. A fellow Hutt may remark that Kuruuga salivates more than usual, perhaps due to his ambition. Personality Profile Most typical Hutt stereotypes would apply to Kuruuga: selfish, intelligent, manipulative, sly, and intelligent. Perhaps the most striking difference would be his treatment of other species, unlike the vast majority of his species, Kuruuga has gone so far as to have shown the slightest signs of loyalty to those he had made deals with. While still unequivocally a proud and secretive Hutt, Kuruuga does not outwardly despite or marginalize those aliens he comes into partnership with. This has made him somewhat of an anomaly in criminal circles, where he has been an enigmatic guest at functions not typical to his race and birth. It has yet to be decided that if this is due to a light and easy-going nature, or it is a further testament to his criminal acumen and organizational potential. Quietly, this Hutt firmly believes in "the long game" in all things. He is atypically slow to anger, while harboring his resentment deep within. Kuruuga has felt restricted by the prominence of his distant cousins and has sought to expand his own influence outside of his own race, while maintaining the expected of facade "toeing the line" back on Nal Hutta. This something of a double-life has caused him to possess a strikingly dubious nature that is common to a Hutt of his success, but otherworldly in it's machinations and complexities. Background Parent • Derugo Desiiug, Died: Age 576, Narcotics & Slaver Chief Overall History • Kuruuga was born to the Desiiug Clan on Nal Hutta. Despite being born in a high caste and to a prominent clan, the young Hutt was only a distant relative to those who held the reigns of power on Nal Hutta. This provided both restrictions and opportunity for the enterprising Hutt who could not expect to rise to de jure political prominence in the clan structure, he could, however, operate lucrative enterprises without much of the incessant competition and jealousies of those within the spotlight. His parent, Derugo, was born into a similar station, and had found some intermediate success sponsoring slave raids, smuggling, and narcotics productions backed by his family name. Kuruuga followed suit and quickly engaged enjoyed establishing himself in several lucrative markets across the galaxy, becoming particularly skilled in facets of business where most Hutts struggled by appearing to shed off much of the outward arrogance of his own kind; going so far as to debase himself by speaking basic (though never in the presence of other Hutts). This pattern of mid-level criminal success came to an abrupt halt when the Chorus invaded Hutt Space. In the ensuing chaos, Kuruuga and his father retrofitted their pleasure yacht into a light cruiser in a vain attempt to hold off the invaders alongside many middling Hutt lords. During an inconsequential skirmish on the edge of Hutt space, the Niboba suffered critical damage and went adrift with only life support. The loss of hands aboard were heavy, including Keruuga's parent and sole-patron. While aboard angrily directing repairs, the orphaned Hutt considers his next move... |
