Assets •
- T7-Z4 "Dayglow"; Harli's personalized and heavily modified T7-series astromech droid and best friend, Dayglow is a droid full of strange quirks in it's design. While the base model is a standard T7-series, he has been upgraded with a much faster processing core, more integrated tools, an advanced scanner and comm system and a built-in shock arm, ion blaster and burst-fire blaster pistol nicknamed the 'Spray-n-Pray'. He is very protective of Harli and tends to operate autonomously with her trust, often dealing with problems for her without her knowledge.
- Wrist-mounted Datapad; A self-built piece of technology, this datapad is what Harli uses to interface with droid AI cores and memory banks, as well as store blueprints. Besides maybe Dayglow, it is her most prized possession and contains most of her various notes and ideas and projects. She can also use it for the purposes of standard datapads, with a variety of dubiously legal software on there to interface with security systems and computers, as well as record and playback sound, receive or transmit holocalls and monitor nearby communications.
- Assorted tools; Since she was a child, Harli has been collecting tools and useful pieces of technology to help with her work, including things from the humble hydrospanner all the way to military-grade slicing kit and beyond. Her bag of tools seems all but endless to an outside observer and she is so familiar with most of them she can pick through the mess to find the one she needs at that exact moment.
- J.O.A.T. Utility Droid; While Harli can usually rely on Dayglow for assistance or do things herself, sometimes certain tasks require too many hands or too many repairs to complete efficiently. Nicknamed 'Harp', this droid is usually requested to do simple repairs or tasks like welding while Harli and Dayglow work on the more complex tasks. That being said, it's processing power has been optimized and upgraded significantly to allow it to perform more dexterity-heavy jobs. In addition to that, Harp has been modified from it's base design to incorporate a detailed structural scanner and holo-projector.
- BL-28 Blaster Pistol; A fairly standard blaster pistol, Harli uses this mainly for self defense and has modified it with a toggled laser sight. While she's not exactly a warrior, she knows BL-28 well and it has saved her life quite a few times.
- HR1 Stun Baton;Basically just a power coupling on a stick.Despite the technical product name, this stun baton was designed and constructed entirely by Harli, originally as a proof of concept but she liked it so much she kept it around. A single strike from this weapon is enough to knock most humanoids off their feet and prolonged exposure can cause temporary paralysis or unconsciousness. it is a very effective self-defense weapon that Harli has learned to keep close at hand.
- Stealth Field Generator; Knowing the value of getting lost sometimes, Harli has acquired and heavily modified a standard stealth field generator to continuously recharge from UV-rays, allowing it to last a lot longer than a standard model. She's not exactly a spec ops stealth master or anything but with this she can get by alright.
Appearance
Face Claim • Kat Dennings
Height & Weight • 5'5"; 103lbs
Overall Looks •
Harli looks, quite honestly, like a perfectly regular girl. If one were to spot her on the street you would think she was just some intern at a corporate office with a coffee and a fancy datapad on her arm. Even in her presence she doesn't give off a vibe of being very important or special and it seems she likes it that way, dressing often in very muted colors and wearing clothes that are far too normal.
Her facial features are rather soft and feminine, with round lips and a slightly pronounced chin; accompanied by blue-grey eyes and dark hair. The only part of her face that is particularly memorable is her rather charismatic smile, which is frankly not very often seen, in fact her expression is usually one of disdain, boredom or frustration. She usually wears her hair down, it's length reaching about the center of her back and naturally a little wavy, though when working she'll tie it up to keep it from becoming a danger.
Makeup really isn't her thing. In fact cosmetics in general really aren't her style because her face is likely to get covered in oil and grime and other detritus in the course of working on repairs. If she has to go out and be social she'll occasionally wear some lipstick or something but that's really it.
As for clothing, she usually wears an electrically-resistant apron when in her workshop though underneath that will be basic, nondescript and cheap clothing in the fashion of whatever planet she's currently on. She'll usually replace her clothes fairly quickly after buying them, as they get damaged or dirty to the point where washing them would do little. Such a responsibility generally falls to Dayglow, who has no real understanding of fashion or design, which suits Harli just fine.
Personality Profile
Immature and a complete malcontent are probably the two best words to describe Harli. She is very reclusive and isolated, staying in her workshop for hours on end or even days, Harli lives, breathes and sleeps her work. Nothing else seems to matter. She seems to treat the droids and mechanical systems she works on as living things, thinking of it more like performing life-saving surgery than routine repair work.
In fact, she has a large preference for mechanical constructs over organics, describing people as "way too complicated" and remarking that she "can't reprogram an ex-boyfriend to be less of an ass". As such, she finds it quite difficult to relate to normal people, preferring to spend her time doing her work or spending time with Dayglow and Harp. To most she comes across as rude, cynical and dismissive, almost like a teenager who never grew up. This often got her in trouble during her time with the Republic military, hence her decision to drop out of the academy early on and instead pursue freelance work.
Complex problems interest Harli and she's never one to back down from a challenge she finds intriguing. She'll often become so obsessed with fixing a problem that she'll stay up all night to do so, leading to her once again messing up her sleep schedule. However, this has led her to explore technology other than droids, becoming proficient in vehicle repair, arms and armour maintenance and even slicing.

Overall History •
#1 - unplanned arrival.
"Mom and dad always said I was a miracle..."
3612 BBY. Bin Prime Medical Facility, Balmorra.
Harli Rennegan came into the galaxy that day. A relatively small child to a perfectly mundane family, appearing as somewhat of a surprise. The little miracle child. Her father was a foreman at the Balmorran Arms Factory, her mother was a former waitress turned full time housewife and the house was packed with kids. She grew up loved and cherished like youngest siblings always seem to. Lots of presents on Life Days and birthdays. For what modest money they made, they were a happy family.
Her father began rising through the ranks at Balmorran Arms quickly due to his work ethic. For all that he was a good man, he was singularly dedicated to his craft and was an excellent designer of battle droids. Before the war, this work amounted to security droids, bouncer droids and bodyguards, nothing needing any sort of ill-intent. Nothing that required the need to end lives en-masse.
Then, when she was 10 years old, the war started.
All of a sudden her father started coming home late, or sometimes not coming home at all, for days. Being a smart child, Harli figured out what was going on. She had always looked up to her father, hell from the time she could walk she was holding hydrospanners, helping her parents around the house, learning from her father when he had the time to teach her. But suddenly it felt like his work was more important than his family and her respect for him withered and died a sad, slow death.
Her oldest brother went to war, joined the Republic Army at one of their recruitment parades at only 19 and left them as well. Then the second oldest went to work at her father's factory. And then a few years later her sister left for the army as well. At least, that was Harli's perspective. The only one left was her mother, who she watched go grey far before her time.
#2 - rookie of the year.
"It's a miracle I stayed there as long as I did..."
A she grew into her teenage years, her bitterness and cynicism grew. Going from a house filled with family to a house with next to none was a big shock to her system. To her, they had betrayed her, left her and her mother alone there. The more her mother defended them, the more Harli grew frustrated with her as well. It wasn't long before Harli began to look towards the stars for an escape.
She spent most of her time in her room, turning it into a makeshift workshop and performing repairs at the Bin Prime Starport for passing Republic ships, collecting whatever scrap they had and using it for her various experiments. At one point a squadron of fighters landed on Balmorra for refuge and refuel after an intense space battle. One pilot had lost his T7 astromech after a laser bolt had struck it and in return for routine repairs, he gave the apparently worthless, ruined droid to her. Little did he know, he had just given her a best friend.
See, Harli had never been a social kid, mostly out of shyness before but now out of pure contempt and mistrust for anyone and everyone that appeared before her, especially those espousing the wisdom of war. For a full week she worked on her new T7, rebuilding it's memory core, replacing all of the ruined metal with scrap, making her own little modifications here and there. By the time she was done, T7-Z4 was born. She nicknamed him Dayglow, since he was finished at sunrise, a name he has kept to this day.
With an astromech, Harli now had the tools at her disposal to turn her repair work into a freelance business, advertising herself on the HoloNet and marketting herself as 'the best mechanic on Balmorra'. With a moniker like that, she got quite a few jobs very quickly, usually from Republic ships coming in for refueling or pick-up. Before long, she had enough credits to barter passage to... well, wherever she wanted!
The only indication she was gone was a simple holo-message left at her house address to her mother. "Gone adventuring. Hopefully back never. Tell Dad he's an asshole. Love you mom."
#3 - like clockwork.
"Besides, I always did like droids better than people..."
Just as quickly as it started, the war ended. Something much more sinister was on the horizon. Harli had just begun setting up her freelance repair business on Nar Shaddaa when the news came in. Some sort of disease and horrible monsters attacking the edge of Hutt Space. Always having had a natural inclination to dangerous situations, Harli booked the first shuttle coreward.
The whole situation felt so much more real to her now that she wasn't isolated on Balmorra. She was in danger, truly in danger now. Throughout that entire incident it was a wonder she didn't get infected. Feeling a preternatural need to both profit off of a bad situation and maybe save some lives, she joined a Republic effort to construct and maintain medical facilities on the edges of Hutt Space, assisting the wounded and sick by keeping medical droids and machines in working condition. For that work she was commended highly and even thanked personally by a high-ranking Republic officer; though she didn't exactly treat the thanks very seriously.
Her isolationist tendencies probably saved her life, which only reinforced her desire to keep herself away from people unless she needed to. Dayglow started doing things on his own for her. Buying her clothes, making sure she ate and slept, trying to keep her active and healthy. She began referring to him as her 'clockwork mom', which he took with the droid equivalent of an eyeroll.
Having established a good relationship with the Republic, she managed to find fairly steady work as a freelance mechanic for the Republic fleet, often going with them around the Galaxy just to see the sights and practice her craft.
But a part of her... a big part of her still craves adventure.
