Thus, he grew independently of his overworked parents as an opportunist, teaching himself to fight and taking contracts as a bodyguard and enforcer for various criminal organizations operating in secret across the planet as early as age fifteen. When he came of age, Kellan ran away from home to enlist in the Galactic Republic Army in search of purpose and payment as an orbital Shock Trooper. However, the life of a soldier was not for Kellan; his ambitions, strong will, and distrust of authority led to numerous disciplinary charges that held him back from promotion. The young Kellan, freshly twenty, decided that a life lived on his own terms was better than what he had before him. So, during a routine orbital drop exercise, Kellan deliberately sabotaged his landing vector and went AWOL. Presumed dead, Kellan was free to charter passage to the Outer Rims, where he took up arms as a mercenary and criminal contractor for some of the Galaxy's most vicious and clandestine warlords. With advanced combat skills, military training, and an indomitable will, he has carved a path as a young man with strong convictions and a ruthless streak used to get the job done by any means necessary.
