Skii Draken Full Name • Skii Draken Race • Echani Birthplace • Eshan Age • 13 Gender • Male Sexuality • Pan Faction • Jedi Concept • Padawan Languages • Echani Kinetic Language, Basic Assets • 1x Single-bladed Lightsaber (Curved/Blue) Appearance Height & Weight • 5 ft, 95 lbs Overall Looks • A mess of white hair over a pair of thin silver eyes. A short nose with a lean mouth and a slightly pointed chin. He stands slightly shorter and thinner than your average humanoid male of his age. He carries himself meekly and unconfidently, often slouching and meeting people's feet rather than their gaze. He has a tendency to rub his wrists when he is nervous, which is often, wrists that appear to be covered in numerous scars from a childhood practicing the sword. His ankles and shins have similar scarring, albeit to a lesser degree. He also has a noticeable gash over his upper lip. Personality Profile Skii may outwardly appear as a quiet and gloomy child, but this couldn't be further from the truth. He had a strange childhood wherein he barely spoke or interacted with strangers, which has caused him to develop a stutter and approach conversations meekly. He remains a friendly child though and enjoys spending time with others regardless of his personal issues. He is hopelessly curious and is known for wandering and getting lost in places that he in unfamiliar, much to the chagrin of his colleagues. He has a tendency to cover his face when he is happy and he enjoys strong flavors and colors, things he was deprived of in his home growing up. He carries a fascination for martial combat both in it's practice and theory, and will spend an unhealthy amount of time in the Jedi Archives pouring over the topic if he is not supervised. As it is in Echani culture Skii reveres combat as an art, and the purest form of communication between two individuals. Background Father • Sir Derek Etthal-Draken Mother • Lady Celeste Draken Siblings • Stratus Draken, 26, Soldier Cirrus Draken, 23, Soldier Nimbus Draken, 13 Other Important Connections • Beryl, 58, Draken family Butler. Overall History • Skii was born, along with his twin sister Nimbus, to the Draken Family on Eshan. Draken was a house of eccentrics and traditionalists, and Skii's gender was unfortunate to them as they believed it would limit his potential in a matriarchal society. That's not to say that he was neglected and abused in any way but when it came to opportunity, inheritance, education, Skii would always come up last in the discussion. Draken was known to some as the "Deathly quiet house". Verbal communication between family members was almost nonexistant. Skii and his parents and siblings communicated almost exclusively kinetically. Even during education of Galactic Basic they were separated to study alone with a droid instructor so that they would not be forced to speak in front of family. As is tradition on Eshan, the children of the Draken household began training in martial arts and athletics at the age of five. Skii and his sisters were no exceptions, and spent their days in the house committed to a grueling schedule of education, etiquette and martial training. After pugilism they would also study the blade, wherein Skii slowly accumulated a series of notable scars to his wrists and ankles. What little free time he had Skii spent with Nimbus resting, reading, or at any other activity that let them stay off of their feet. Several months after their sixth birthday Nimbus' connection to the Force was discovered by accident during a spar. Skii's connection was tested and discovered as well shortly thereafter. With Nimbus' status as an heir proving too valuable to the family it was decided that Skii alone would be sent to the Temple on Coruscant for training. This proverbial olive branch could give the boy more opportunities to learn and grow than he would have in his home, while at the same time providing the family both a connection to a hallowed order as well as the social martyrdom of sacrificing a child so that they could better the Galaxy. Upon his arrival Skii was processed and integrated into a youngling Clan. He had great difficulty adjusting to life outside of his family. He was completely unaccustomed to verbal communication at this point, and so had trouble making connections to the other Initiates. Maybe due to his previous strict education Skii proved a swift learner amongst his peers. He showed great aptitude for using Force to strengthen the body and displayed a skill for the lightsaber that far and beyond surpassed the rest of his peers. Unfortunately this great skill along with his quiet and reclusive disposition only proved to further divide him from the rest of the children in his year. While the other Initiates made friends and connections with each other, Skii preferred to shut himself away in the Archives pouring over texts documenting the teachings of Swordmasters from the Order's past, a title that the young Echani dearly coveted and dreamed of attaining one day as a Jedi Master. As the years progressed Skii grew more comfortable in his routine. Between his classes and his trysts to the Archives he continued to practice his Echani martial arts alone, striving to achieve the first Tier yet finding himself all to often at an impasse with no one to guide him further. In fencing he began to favor Form II heavily, its fancy flourish and duel-centric nature he found familiar and easy to comprehend due to his Echani heritage. When the time came for his Initiate trials there was some worry that he might have to re-take them. While he had shown a phenomenal grasp of the blade, in his academic studies he had never been but average and had shown difficulty with memorization. This small amount of worry proved to be for not however as Skii managed to pass his Trials without too much difficulty. Finally he sits at the cusp of the rank of Padawan, yet still he finds it unattainable. As he waited patiently and continued to maintain his martial skills, he watched as various Knights came one by one to select their Padawans while the rest prepared themselves for reassignment. But even nearing the end of his thirteenth year he held out hope a Master will find him worthy so that he may continue to bring honor to his Family and name. |
