Whistling-Jay Voice Modulator Voice Modulator Name • W-J/v3.2 Verbal Modification Device Classification • Medical enhancement Origin • Skillion Medical Advancements Specifications Size • Thumb sized - Height: - Width: - Length: Appearance • A small, bean-like object that is grafted onto the vocal cords Function Like many other voice modulators, this device is normally used for people that have either lost the capability to speak, or require medical assistance to do so. It is attached to the vocal cords to enable the user to speak; a fairly basic but vital requirement. However, the Whistling-Jay was designed to go beyond that. Grafted into the subject's ear canal is also a receiver connected to the modulator that can be activated to record sounds, which the device can then replicate. This allows the user to perfectly imitate any sound they hear; a perfect tool for those in more subversive lines of work. While simple sounds can be reproduced with a few seconds of listening, the Whistling-Jay requires several lines of dialogue with key vowels and constants in order to accurately copy another person's voice. This can usually take around fifteen seconds of speech. It also requires the user to be able to understand the speaker's language to produce an accurate imitation; otherwise they would be stuck with only the phrases that they were able to overhear. |
