Leo slowly pressed the hypo-spray into his shoulder, injecting the large dose of painkillers into his system almost instantly. Sitting back, he took a look around.
The place was a standard drug den, with dark, smoky rooms with couches and booths along the walls, and stages in the center offering more... sensual entertainment. He caught sight of a couple of dancing girls, one blue and one red, and motioned them over with a large-denomination credit chip.
They pranced over as the drugs began to take effect, making their movements slightly blurry and difficult to follow. He smiled at them both lethargically, and twirled his finger in the air. They began dancing and undressing, pressing their naked forms against his extremely relaxed body. He watched them smiling, swaying side to side in a slow stupor. This was great.
They would need to stop by Ryloth more often. Much more often.
They had come to pick up a rather large shipment of ryll spice. Zelo was probably overseeing it's loading right now. Leo, however, had decided to spend the downtime in one of the planet's many spice dens. You could always find what you needed there.
Leo chuckled as he remembered the entrance's large sign, exclaiming "satisfaction guaranteed." He looked up at the naked Twi'Leks dancing around him. His head swam.
He was very satisfied...

"Boy, I'm going to put a blaster burn right through your brain!" Some of these drug addicts needed their ego shot down. She wasn't here for the drugs or to find one who would take her to his one bed apartment. She found the drug-den hot and full of high men with sexual urges. Unfortunately, Melody was a blond woman who was obviously still in her twenties, reaching the average height of many human females. And instead of seducing, she was busy waving one of her pistols at someone.
So, why was she here? Melody had had too many denials, turn downs, and the fact she owned no ship to follow after her father's reputation. Because, oh yes, Eagle Strike had been stolen. She didn't know how, but it was gone. She couldn't find a sane person to make a deal with her, allowing her to work as a partner. And she wasn't even going to try finding people who would take her for jobs. Well, she did, but to ask them if they knew anyone looking for a partner who knew how to hit someone between the eyes.
There were just too many predators here. Melody thought about shooting this one just to make a point: she wasn't here to strip dance. Frick that. It took this man several minutes to realize that she would shoot him, when the barrel of the pistol was actually shoving upward into his chin. He backed off and Melody made her escape, darting around him after pushing off the wall he had trapped her against.
There was no sane person lurking in the corners to watch the activity progress. Not that she could find. There was a graceful glide in her step, matching smoothly with any female dancer you might find on a dance floor, twirling with another man. Elsewhere, that is. Her trench coat swirled about her legs whenever she stopped, her eyes scanning in a pattern for a sign of these 'job' men she sought out for.
It was very well she had decided to wear her shorts today. Note to self: wear trousers in a drug-den.
Her eyes rested on the ugliest of sights, a male surrounded by the dancing forms of naked Twi'lek girls. Melody rolled her eyes, thinking she might vomit. Remember what she said about peoples' egos shot down and not raised? This qualified.

The Twi'Leks danced around him a little while more, until the time purchased by the credit chip finally ran out. With a slow shake of the head he made clear that he wasn't paying for more, and the Twi'Leks sauntered away. He rested his head back, staring off into the distance, listening to the jumpy music and watching the smoke as it billowed toward the ceiling. All of it seemed strange, far away. Leo wondered if it was real or not. He certainly couldn't feel anything.
Or so he thought. As high as he was, he was still a man used to the lowly lifestyle, and the paranoia associated with it. He knew when someone was watching him.
Sluggishly he sat up, and met eyes with a woman standing a few meters away. She was average-height, and slim, he thought. He couldn't tell for sure, because she was covered in a alrge trench coat. He was almost distracted by the way it billowed around her, but forced himself to stay focused. She was blonde, very attractive, with the stance of a dancer.
She was no entertainer though, he could tell that by the hard look in her eyes.
Logic told him to pretend he hadn't noticed, no to draw any more attention to himself. But Leo was in no state to be logical. He waved at her, giving her a roguish smile. "Hey there."
He caught movement behind her, and stood shakily as Zelo entered the den. The rodian strode up to him, chittering in his native tongue. He nodded. "So we're all good to go? Good, this place was getting boring anyway. Let's hurry- I want to get this run finished before the gun show on Nar Shadda."
"You want to get this done quick? Then why the hell are you high?" The Rodian asked.
He shrugged. "Hey, I was high on the way here, we made it just fine!"
"You almost ran into a mountain!"
"Hey man, that mountain came outta nowhere, you saw it. No worries, I can do this. I'll probably be coming down by the time we leave anyway."
The Rodian sighed and shook his head. "Fine, lets go. The faster we get to Nar Shadda, the better. It'll give me time to pick up a new bounty, too."
"All right, let's roll." The Rodian turned to go, and Leo began to follow, pausing to give one last charming, though slightly dazed, smile to the woman.

"Hey there."
The voice had her attention. Melody's blue eyes flicked to the side as her head came back around. It was the man with the Twi'lek girls. She snorted softly for her ears only. He gave her a little wave and a grin swept his face. Oh, great. His entertainment was gone and now he was going to come after her? That's it. She was leaving.
With a twist of her ankle, Melody swirled in the opposite direction from him. She nearly collided with the Rodian walking. A nimble side-step made by her altered that fate. Her eyebrows were heavy to compliment her glare, watching slowly as he went passed her, chattering away with some sense in his voice. She understood Rodian. What smuggler didn't know other languages besides their native tones?
Her eyebrow arched slightly when she heard the words "gun show" and "Nar Shadda" float from their conversation. Now that the Rodian with a functioning brain was here, her interest was sparked a bit more. She had half a mind to go speak to them. She could use at least a ride to Nar Shadda, and stuffy shuttle transports just weren't going to cut it anymore. It was much too hot here on Ryloth.
You came here, why? Melody questioned herself for the upteenth time. Suddenly feeling a flint of hope and determination, she made a move to approach the man and his Rodian friend. it was interupted by a threesome who just so happened to be acting like school children, shoving each other around playfully in their dazed minds. One collided with her, followed by another, sending the men and Melody spiraling to the floor.
Oh, the flame tongued curses that poured from her mouth at them. Before she had hit the floor, both blasters were out, ready to face advancements with the "Say hello to my littel friend" technique. As they scrambled to find their feet, Melody went on to calling them the foulest names in the galaxy.
By the time she was on her own feet, the man and the Rodian had left. Melody rushed out the exit, holstering the pistols to their rightful places on her thighs and glanced around for any staggering motion of a dazed man, high on his drugs. It didn't take long. They weren't walking too fast. Melody bolted after them.
"Wait! Wait, wait, wait..." she said, coming to a stop directly in front of them, cutting off their path. her eyes fixed on the man. "I'm not talking to you. Your friend here is the intelligent one." Her gaze snapped over to the Rodian. "I heard 'gun show', 'run', 'Nar Shadda', 'bounty' as well as many other words a person such as myself takes interest of. I also heard something about a mountain. What the chubba did you do? Nearly collide?" The words were almost accusing, but the way she put them prided them as a heavy joke. "No matter. I have but one question: could you fit in passage for one? I've been searching for one and come up short with searches ending in thinking these people could get me killed."
It was a question that jumped to matters, but Melody spoke casually with a pleasant, slight upturn of her lips. There was certainty that if she had wanted to be kind to the fellows back in the drug-den, she could have stolen their hearts. But, hey, smugglers did seem to have the best people skills, when they were nice.
"It'd be a quick trip, and I'd pay for it. You'd never hear from me again after the journey is made." Yeah, screw small talk.

Leo began walking with Zelo, slowly picking their way across the drug den to the exit. He heard a commotion behind, didn't care. He was too dazed to spend time paying attention, and whatever it was didn't concern him, anyway.
They made it to the door, turning into a hallway that was much brighter than the den behind it. Leo had to stop a moment and shield his eyes while they adjusted.
when he could see again, he found that woman standing before them once more, rattling off about everything she'd heard them say and how she needed passage to Zelo.
The two smugglers met eyes, and grinned.
"Did she say I'm the intelligent one?" They burst out in a chorus of hoarse laughter.
It lasted a while. Leo, in his drug-induced state, just couldn't help it. Zelo just thought it was funny as hell. Finally, they stood up again, and Zelo gestured to Leo.
"No, he's the smart one, and he's the Captain, so talk to him."
Leo looked at the woman, grinning. "Yes, that is correct. As under the influence as I may be, do not be so foolish as to doubt my capabilities, or the extent of my intelligence." His smile faded; he had to concentrate extremely hard to think and speak normally.
"So you want me to take you, a suspicious-looking woman who spied in on my conversation unwelcomed, to Nar Shadda without offering a price and after insulting both my intelligence and flying abilities?"
He looked to the Rodian, and laughed again. He stumbled, and Zelo had to catch him before he fell.
Once he was steadied, he addressed the woman once more. "You doing a horrible job right now, you know. Perhaps you'd like to try one more time." He sat back, politely smiling, the confidence in his words still offset by the glassed look in his eyes. He hoped the conversation would end soon; it was such a tiring task to think so hard.
He just wanted to float...

This is what she got for dealing with men. Why couldn't there be any more female smugglers then what there were? The number was so little it was frustrating. Because she had to deal with people like these two. For the millionth and one time, she wished she still had Eagle Strike, doing her own thing, and didn't loose that shipment job of transporting fire gems. Did anyone know just how rare those things were? Or how much money you could gain from a single neighboring planet jump?
Melody had one arm crossed in front of her, her other arm's elbow sitting on her wirst. She sighed and poked her head a few times as the two had their laugh.
"I said I'd pay. Do you really believe I am that inexperienced?" The young face betrayed any knowledge she might have. Her gaze seemed more feirce and competitive than wise. "Because your hyped up on your drugs, you must not have heard me."
Her hand clasped her opposite elbow. Melody continued to glance between the two. Though the man had said not to underestimate his comprehension level, she was still worried when he stumbled. Why did she even bother? Her gaze was on the man for a while, trying to find some body of intelligence on him. Remembering 'gun show' as a word upon seeing but a couple of the weapons that he carried. Fine, there had to be knowledge stuffed somewhere in his head.
But Melody cracked a smile. "I'm not really all that suspiscious, am I?" She flicked back the trench coat and placed her hands on her hips. "And if I am, that'd be a first. As I said, I can pay, but if that doesn't meet your standards, what will?"

Leo turned to Zelo, grinning. "You know, some may find her conceited bluntness insulting, but I like it. You gotta be that way to deal with guys like us, eh?"
He turned back to the woman. "Well, if you have money, then we have room. Come along babe, follow me."
He started back down the hallway, but paused a few steps later upon the realization that he couldn't pick out the proper path to the hangar. Hell, he could hardly tell the hall from the walls that bordered it.
"All right, Zelo, you lead."
The Rodian took point, his unfazed expression indicating that he had experienced this several times before. After what seemed like hours to Leo, through a maze of passages, they finally emerged onto the hangar deck. There, grimy but glorious as ever, stood the Tantalance. It was a smugglers dream-ship; Leo and Zelo had spent countless weeks acquiring, installing, and modifying the various systems it boasted. It could outrun any ship in the Galaxy; Leo wold bet money on that. Usually he kept it shined, polished, and new-looking. But lately he had been neglecting her appearance. He would fix that on Nar Shadda, he decided.
He ducked under the large cargo container occupying the usually empty space cut into the Freighters design and stalked up the boarding ramp. "Welcome to the Tantalance, you'll find quarters down the passage to your left. Once your all settled in, there's a general area in the center of the ship with couches and a holoprojector and stuff. You can entertain yourself there. We're going forward to take off; once we're in hyperspace we can talk price for the journey."
He staggered to the cockpit, taking the leftmost seat, Zelo sitting to his right. He studied and blurry controls with a dazed look, and rubbed his eyes. This take-off was going to suck...

"I use only 'conceited bluntness' to handle the conceited themselves. You aren't that bad, however. I suppose that should be a good thing." There was that little smile again, drowning the hardness of her sapphire eye. It brightened her mood, it seemed. She would be lighter on them now they had some form of 'a deal'.
"Melody Prance," she managed to say, just before he stated for her to follow him. As stepped, or swaggered, a few foot falls before stopping, appearing confused. Melody had one eyebrow raised as she unmoving with her hands still placed on her hips. Nice to know your name, too, she thought a little sourly, walking a proper distance behind the rodian.
The labyrinth here on Ryloth made even Melody dizzy. Seriously, it should not be this hard to get to one's ship. Keeping pace and watching the people turn to from somewhat important business members to the what was considered the lowlifes, Melody complained not. And she had nothing to complain against the Tantalance. It was apparent the ship was built for speed and could endure speeds some couldn't.
Well, almost nothing. Walking alongside ship the man, who's name still remained unknown to her, owned, Melody lightly touched the her, Tantalance. Instantly, a layer of oily grim transferred to her fingers. Her hand came off and she rubbed the substance between her fingers. "Just a little filthy, I suppose. Poor baby." With that, Melody continued to follow aboard.
"Welcome to the Tantalance, you'll find quarters down the passage to your left..." That was about all Melody had heard. She could find her way around the ship, and the price had to be discussed some time. However, she waited for the buzz of the man's speaking to die before giving a short nod of acknowledgement and took a leisure saunter down the left side, peering at the ship still with a gleam of interest. There were still some light fondlings, nothing that made any noticeable difference. She actually drilled her fingers once against the side, as if expecting to hear a hollow sound before shrugging and carrying on.
Little did she know just how bad their take off was being anticipated.

He stared at the controls, hoping in vain that they would begin to make sense. His eyes seemed to see, but not see. He almost began to panic.
Calm down, Florian...
"Zelo, you're going to have to help me with pretty much everything right now."
The Rodian jabbered a surprised response.
"I know you don't know anything about flying. But I'm really screwed up man, you gotta help me out." The Rodian assented, and they began to get started.
He was taking this one extra careful, just to be safe. He went through the preflight checklist four times, then fully started up the ship. He waited for it to completely warm up and be ready to go, and then the hard part began.
He jerked up on the control stick, and the freighter jumped from the deck fast enough to toss around anything not attached to the floor. He braked just before impacting the ceiling of the hangar cavern. He slowly nosed the ship back down, then lurched the ship outside with bone-jarring force.
That's how they flew, all the way to open space. Slow and steady on straight courses, with sudden, jarring maneuvers. There where a couple close calls involving mountains; one of which caused Zelo to actually cry out, but soon, they made it.
He had Zelo enter in their jump destination and calculate everything. Once they were ready, he toggled the hyperdrive switch. Stars stretched into lines and then the blue blur of hyperspace: they'd made it.
He let out a deep breath that he'd been holding, and awkwardly unbuckled himself from the pilots chair, making his way back to the commons area.
He looked at the woman, wearing his usual roguish grin. "We're on our way, Ms. Prance. Not a thing to worry about." He took a seat. "So, about business..."

A yelp came from somewhere in the ship at the take off. If you could give such an ungraceful, uncontrolled, and handsomely mind tearing lurch that much praise.
Melody had been looking at what they were calling her quarters for the jump to Nar Shadda. Kicking a few of the odd things they had stored in the room, she grumbled to herself about men being men, male Rodian's included. Dont worry, she was careful with the few delicated appearing objects, actually carrying them from one side to another. As short of a stay she was going to upon this ship, Melody couldn't help her feminine urge to at least tidy it up a bit. A bit. She wouldn't conduct a scientific experiment on it but the fact remained the same: Melody would make it neater.
However, their take off explained why the junk was in disarray in the first place. The Tantalance gave a vicious buck and Melody staggered against the wall she was near. Her head beat against it once and a pain hit her consciousness. The items tumbled and clattered, merging with the other various objects skittering through the ship at this take off. A footlocker skipped across the floor at another jerk, trampling over her foot and banging on her knee cap before she placed her hands out to stop it. It had been then the cry of pain had escaped her.
Several minutes passed before she felt the pull of hypersapce. Melody untangled herself from the footlocker and stood. There was an obvious limp in her stride, unbalancing her graceful dancer's gait and she entered the general living space.
"The bloody hell was that," she asked. "'Not a thing to worry about'. Pah! I think I'd trust a gizka to cart me to Nar Shadda! I thought your Rodian friend said you were the captain!" Melody had taken a seat, and winced when she flicked a leg over the other, crossing them, forgetting for a moment the slight injury to his leg. "Seriously now, if the landing is expected to be anything like the landing besides the fact were are touching ground... I might take it into my own hands to lower the risk of turning into a fire ball."
A long breath exhaled through her nose as she rubbed a hand on her head, which was beginning to throb. Her eyes were up to meet to devilishly handsome grin on the man's face.
"Melody does just fine," the smuggler's daughter corrected him, a calmness about her now. "And, yes, business. ... I have to know your name. You do have a name I would hope."

He took he entire outburst in stride. He couldn't really blame her - he probably would have reacted in similar fashion. He really had no business flying while under the influence, but Zelo hated flying, and he surely couldn't trust a woman he had just met to do it for him.
He paused, suddenly realizing that he was thinking much clearer. Damn second-rate drug dens, that's the last time I buy the generic brand...
He felt the fuzzy happiness of intoxication slowly fade away, slowly being replaced by the crushing reality of being sober. How inconvenient.
"Leo Florian, Melody, at your service. I apologize for the take off, I wasn't in... top condition. I'll be fine by the time we exit hyperspace, there will be no more problems, I promise." He gave her a sly wink, cranking up the charm.
He glanced over to Zelo, standing in the corridor behind him. "Hey bud, wanna start cleaning up while we wait for reversion to realspace? I'll help you out as soon as I'm done taking care of the business here."
He turned back to the woman, getting up and choosing a seat much nearer to the pretty smuggler. "I'm pretty lax on prices, especially because we were already on our way there for a few other jobs. I'm thinking about 1500 credits. Does that sound good to you?"

Her eyebrows shot up in some shock. Fifteen hundred? That was all? Hell, it was cheaper than most of the other transportation she had taken. For a moment, she thought the drugs were getting a bit too deep within his judgement, but he was no longer staggering or swaying. Or walking about with a somewhat dumb expression on his face. Were the drugs wearing off or was he just good at concealing when he wanted to.
Logic said they were wearing off. You'll be much better before we exit hypersapce. Florian, if you land even half better than the take off, I'll forgive you for the bump on my head. It still pulsed painfully, giving her a low grade headache.
"Fifteen hundred is fine," Melody replied, friendlier now as she tried to banish the pain from her head. At least she calmed down quickly. A bad take off could be forgiven. "I mean, geesh, why didn't I start hitch hiking rides before." Her hand was down off her head, arm resting on the, well, armrest, as the opposite stretched to about mid-thigh. "But, as you said, that may only because you have other jobs that will hopefully pay well." That open smile showed itself again, wide at first, then lowered some but not completely dispersing from her lips. "Gunslinging, right?"

He reclined in his chair, watching the woman. She was evidently pleased by the pricing. Leo was fine with it too, even if it was pretty low. He never cared much for money, anyway, and he made enough from his other ventures.
It was those that the woman seemed interested in. He gave her a sly smile.
"Yeah, That's what it mostly is. Smuggling and other stuff on the side, but I'm a gunslinger at heart. Rifle, pistols, whatever. If it shoots, I'm the best at shooting it. Least that's what the ads say. I haven't lost a duel yet, so I'm hoping that they're right. You should stop by my show; you'll enjoy it. Pretty cheap admission, too." He smiled.
"So, what about you? What's your story Melody?"

"I've been raised a smuggler. It's been in my blood for one generation that I can count for. If there's a background on which great papa was a smuggler, I sure don't know it." She offered a shrug and a slightly dejected smile.
"I've been smuggling for a while now, ranging from a lot of things: from items to prices. Though I've done a few odd jobs. I've taken on an assassination task before. Just because this crime lord I did a run for wanted him dead. Just so happened that I decided for a drink in the cantina on that run." Again, there was that little shrug that added to an adorable innocence she had on her face. Unconsciously, as a matter of fact, did she appear that way. Not on purpose. It had to be the combination of blond hair and blue eyes.
"And now I bet you're wondering what a smuggler isn't on her own ship. My ba-" Melody stopped herself from completing her word for about point three seconds, unsure at first but figured 'whatever' and finished it. "-by had an unfortunate encounter and is, well, gone."
A nice big summary, and could almost be vaguely painted in one's head. There were a few odd sentences that Melody might kick herself for rattling later. She tried watching her feminine tongue. Feminine tongues tend to rattle off a lot, with giving a care what poured past the lips so long as it was floating in the air. She did a lot to restrain that.
((Probably one of the worst posts I've ever written, but, I'm tired. Sorry.))

Vince's ship had just landed on Nar Shadda, old habits die hard, he had to satisfy that little bit of gambling, just a few credits, of course last time he said that, he had to drag himself out, kicking and screaming. But now, Vince just relaxed a bit, propped against his ship, he had a strange feeling, it told him to stay by the ship for now, just a strange feeling. He figured that if he went in now, some of his 'old friends' per se might see him or recognize him and force would have to be used to defend himself.
He didn't have many friends on this planet, of course he had become such a good Pazaak player, how else would he have one a large sum of his money back, plus some, the ship he has now, and that strange crystal the guy claimed could be used in a lightsaber. He hadn't tested mainly because the guy was boot drunk anyway, but he kept it just in case he needed to sell a little something for some money.
From here he could already hear the shouts of the men in a drunken stupor, and from the window, some barely could stand. It was down right embarassing the way some fo the people would act and the things they would do to try to forget something. He had refused to consume alcohol, of any kind, he was to prideful to make himself look like a complete idiot.
He looked over his shoulder at the Kowakian Monkey-Lizard which had hung on his back so much. Viewed as a pet by most, but to him, this creature was his friend. Though, the topic of a name never came up between the two. So as Vince looked at the creature, he began to wonder, what was its name?
"Hey, what is your name?" Vince asked the creature, which the creature stared at him blankly.
"It's taken you this long to ask me?" the Kowakian Monkey-Lizard replied.
"Well, I do suppose so, what is it" Vince answered the question with one of his own.
"It's, Crumb, Sola Crumb, I was named after one of my far distant relatives, though, he left our planet on a ship, long before he knew he would have a child. He was highly intelligent, I'm not just some pitiful creature with no life that just plays pranks on others, my kind isn't stupid" Sola informed his friend, "And please, call me Crumb."
Vince just stood there in awe, he had never heard his friend talk so much. He had never even imagined anything like this ever happening. So with a silent nod, Vince relaxed, propping against the side of his ship, waiting for his moment to enter the bar and make his grand entrance.

He listened to the woman, nodding as she told him her story. It certainly was interesting. He could tell there was a lot more than what she was saying there. He could sense the memories and emotions that lay behind each word. She must have been through a lot, he decided. Most smugglers had. It came with the business; you couldn't make it long in the business without acquiring a few scars. Leo had plenty, that was for sure.
He opened his mouth to reply, but was cut off by the hyperspace proximity alarm. "Well," he said, standing up, "looks like we're here. You should come along to the cockpit with me, I enjoy your company." He smiled at her, and made his way forward.
He jumped into his seat, toggling the alarm off and readying to drop them into realspace. He looked over his shoulder to Melody. "So what do you plan to do on Nar Shadda? I'm mean, with out a ship and a home, you're pretty much stranded, aren't you?"

Melody sat there, her fingers making a dull thump on the table, to which her arm had now migrated to. A captivating smile painted her face when he stated he enjoyed her company. She was like him, playing a part in charm. Charm was easy for her when someone wasn’t harshening her mellowed mood. Today had just been a difficult day, and therefore resulted in a lot of snapping. She was better now.
She stood with a little stretch and followed him to the cockpit when he suggested it. She believed it was for the sake of another intelligent presence, which Leo had when he wasn’t acting like a fool on his drugs.
Melody didn’t have much room to speak. She’d done a few unhealthy things similar to drug intake in the last few years. But, after each time, she always found she preferred drinking over anything else.
“Well, first of all, Nar Shadda is my home. That’s why I want to go back,” her eyes roamed the operating console and the readings. If she stared outside the glass, she would get dizzy watching the ship accelerate through hyperspace. “Second, when we get there, I’m finding a good cantina and buying me a good drink. Third, I’m going to search for someone who is searching for a partner. Just until I earn back enough credits to buy myself another ship to call my own and upgrade her to what I call perfect.”
She spoke as she her mind went over the instinctive procedure to bring a ship out of hyperspace. It didn’t hurt to remind herself how to do so. In fact, she preferred trips such as these to glance over the controls and remember exactly what one was supposed to do. It brought back her father’s lecturing voice into the back of her head.
Melody still missed him.
“And then I continue about my life. Simple to some degree. Except the looking for a counterpart is easier said than done.”

He grinned. "A Drink, eh? I always find it funny how others judge my painkiller use, right before drowning themselves in alcohol..."
He depressed a button, and the vortex of hyperspace narrowed into starlines, and then finally into distant points of light. An extremely small disk could be seen ahead: Nar Shadda.
"You're looking to be a copilot, eh?" He nodded at Zelo. The Rodian quickly vacated the copilot's chair, taking a seat at the navigation console. He looked back at Melody, motioned to the now empty chair, and winked. "Strap in, Melody, and take us down. Consider it an interview. The Tantalance is a good ship, but she's so heavily modified and tinkered-with that only a good pilot could get used to her fast and fly her well. You do good, you can consider yourself part of the crew."
He took his hands off the control yoke, and leaned back, settling in and closing his eyes, as if readying to nap. "Whenever your ready."

"Guilty. You can chew me out if I'm ever drunk. I just prefer drinking over drugs. It's more enjoyable... with sometimes interesting outcomes. Cantinas are fun." A look of mischeif haunted her for a moment. Melody was hardly one to become under the influence, but she did on occasions. She believed everyone did at least once in their lifetime. The whole 'I'll never touch a drink in my life' pledge stank like a cesspit.
She had nodded when he inquired about her being a copilot. The rodian had stood from his spot from the copilots seat. Again, Leo surprised her. He needed to stop doing that. Or she needed to quit being surprised at everything. Or maybe she just needed to keep her mouth shut.
... Nah.
"Truly?" she shot the one worded question at him. "You're willing to trust me this soon?" Melody knew if Tantalance were her ship, she certainly wouldn't. However, she had already felt the superb skills of the take off on Ryloth. She also had the impression Zelo wasn't much of a pilot himself, making him less than helpful as a copilot.
She didn't want to crash, so, hell, if he was going to let her copilot his ship, she was going to do it, whether he had told her to or not.
"But, if you are, start her down already. I'll catch on quickly." Melody was already sitting down and pulling the crash webbing over her shoulders with one hand as the other switched a monitor to a different reading. Her eyes watched the blinking buttons and signals scrawling on different monitors as she familiarized herself with Tantalance's control settings. Where one button might've been on Eagle Strike was more than likely in a different spot. As soon as she could find what was where, she could perform quickly. That's exactly what ensued. With the help of memory, she was able to make the slightest adjustments to prep Tantalance for landing in Nar Shadda. A few more would be made just before landing, considering there was traffic to dodge.
She waved a hand at him. "She's ready. After your take off, I'm not so sure I am, though."

He smiled. "Yes, my piloting skills suffer somewhat when I'm under the influence..." He continued to sit back, eyes closed. He didn't need to be watching; he knew the ship so well that he could pick up on any problem just by the feel of her flying and the sound of her engines. If Melody did anything that bugged him, he would instantly resume control of the ship again. He wasn't worried.
Zelo, however, probably was. He wasn't one who trusted others easily. He'd as soon fight a person as look at them. He knew this would piss him off. But Zelo had learned to trust Leo's judgement over the years, so he wouldn't make a fuss. As messed up a person as he might be, he still knew how to get things done. That was all that mattered.
So far, so good. "Good, everything feels fine so far. Get us a spot in the Entertainment Zone and land."
He went silent, allowing himself to drift away as he felt and listened to the thrumming of the ship's engines. Nothing relaxed him or put him to sleep better than the sound of his baby's engines. This was home. Maybe it was foolish to put her in the hands of a total stranger... But no need to worry, it was all under control.
Nothing to do but sit back and enjoy the ride...
