Cuir set his jaw slightly, but didn't say anything at first. Mostly because he wasn't sure exactly what to say. He got the joke, not that he had really wanted it, but he had got it nonetheless. He watched her walk away then shook his head as she giggled, walking away, "You've got a little bit of a mean streak in you, don't you, cyar'ika?"
Cuir heard a noise coming from one of the alleyways, he took a whiff of the air around him, it had an interesting smell to it. He couldn't quite identify it, but it was maddeningly familiar. Where had he smelled it before?
His eyes widened slightly as the realization dawned on him, this was not going to be good. He had to stay hidden.
He pulled Italia to him and leaned up against a wall and kissed her hard looking the role of a lover simply spending some "quality" time with his other. Obviously, there was more to it than that, but that was far from the point at the moment.
A large group of humanoids rode out of the alleyway, on speeders and went past them. It was mostly Weequay, but there was several other humanoids, including one ever-familiar Besalisk. He glanced over at Cuir and Italia while the rest of them paid no attention. But at the moment the Besalisk was the least of his concerns.
Out of the corner of his eye he spotted a familiar face. A Falleen male whom he had met years ago. It was his pheromones that gave him away. He must've been one of the few people still alive that would remember him. Figures it would be just his luck to run into him here, the bastard should've died back on the mining colony.
The speeder was out of sight pretty quickly though, and Cuir broke the kiss, and looked at Lia semi-apologetically, although his voice didn't sound it at all, "Sorry, about that. Using you as a distraction, I mean."

Italia looked over her shoulder and winked slightly at his comment.
Of course ner ka'rta. If I didn't do you think I'd still be alive in this field of work?
She asked with an impish smile. Suddenly, she found herself being pulled back and pushed against a wall, Cuir's armor knocking against hers through their cloaks as he kissed her for no apparent reason. Slightly shocked, she tensed but swiftly relaxed. She could feel herself growing hot in the face as they kissed, not used to public displays of affection from one she actually had any feelings for. She only barely noticed the sound of speeders rushing by them, and the wind that accompanied such a thing. As he broke the kiss, she looked up at him, flustered and blushing like crazy.
Wh-what in the world was that for? A distraction? Distraction for what? Would you telling me what the hell that was about?
She asked, her voice a mixture of confusion and frustration as she tried to calm her heartbeat from racing against her rib cage. Lia was certain Cuir must be able to hear it it was going so fast!

He grinned disarmingly at her flustered comments, well at least he had surprised her again. Of course now he would have to give her the whole story, which would probably require him to do it in pieces while they moved.
"Our target just drove by with about 20 others, one of which is an old aquaintance whom last time I saw was while we were trying to kill each other on the tibanna gas mining colony that brought me here," replied Cuir nonchalantly, "No big deal, really. Just figured it would be a good idea not to get caught before we catch that Besalisk."
He grabbed her hand and gently guided her along, "If we hurry we might be able to figure out where they're headed."
Cuir's grin reappeared, as he looked back at her, "Besides, I'm sure you've been looking forward to that since we landed onplanet."

His smile did nothing to help calm her racing heart....and neither did his words.
Oh yeah....no big deal at all.
She muttered, following him along into the less dense outskirts of the city. Supposedly the Weequay colony wasn't far from the city...maybe a mile...but they would still have to go through the patch of wilderness between the two in the rather large caldera. It wasn't difficult to follow the path of the speeders since they tended to kick up what little dust there was in the humid caldera, and the bulbous trees that were common here were rather spaced out, providing a decent view of where they had gone. The thing that perplexed Italia, however, was how the speeder's signature had shown up in front of them, but the Besalisk had come from behind them....
Baffled, she shook her head and decided to ask Daryn later. Perhaps he would have some explanation...if she didn't find one first.
As for looking forward to it...well...I'm not complaining am I?

Cuir grinned at her reply, "Well I'm glad you got what you wanted. Though it makes me feel kinda used."
The duo headed out into the desert towards the colony, it took them about 30 minutes or so to even spot the colony, which was surprisingly well-defended looking for a mere colony, but either way, at least they finally found their target as the sun was almost completely under the horizon.
Cuir looked out towards the colony and pointed, "Looks heavily guarded. Apparently they have guards stationed near all the entrances, and at least 2 of them are carrying some form of rocket launcher, while the rest have at least some kind of heavy rifle."
He doubted Lia would be able to see all that without macrobinoculars, but maybe she could. More likely they were just little moving specks of colors, "We might have to wait until after dark to sneak in."

Lia focused on the horizon as Cuir spoke. Damn he had good eyes...but then again, that didn't exactly surprise her. Sighing, she knew that the specks against the drab wall of the colony were going to be all she could see unless they got closer. Huffing slightly, she shrugged and looked up at him.
Well....I could always try and get us in the way I got us out? I'm guessing they're men, no? If they're women though....I think I'd rather climb the wall...
She stated, looking thoughtful for a moment. Folding her arms across her chest, she shifted her weight to one foot and stood silently before speaking again.
Just what would you hope to accomplish by going in at night though? Everyone will be holed up for the night no doubt, and we can't get answers out of closed doors.

Cuir raised an eyebrow slightly. He adopted a slightly haughty yet hurt tone, "What you don't think I can get us in? You doubt my ability after that quality time we spent on the ship? I'm hurt, cyar'ika."
He moved over to one of the giant bolbous trees nearby and made a fist before slamming it into the tree ridiculously hard, leaving an impressive fist sized hole in it, "I guess it's fair since I've only told you what I can do, you've just never actually seen it."
He pulled his hand out of the hole and allowed Lia to exam it, "All we have to do is grab a guard, interrogate him 'privately' and we're in. Piece of cake, I break into places like these all the time."

As Cuir proceeded to 'prove he could get them in,' Italia flinched slightly at the cracking sound the tree's bark made. Why did he have to go and do that? The poor tree didn't do anything to him, and SHE certainly hadn't needed proof! As he implied injuring or killing the guards, she cut over the top of his words, not allowing him to continue.
Dammit Cuir, would you stop that....no need to harm the tree to prove your point. Especially since it was a point that didn't need proving!
She glared at him pointedly before nodding her head in the direction of the tree.
Trees are living beings also you know. And to add to that statement....I think I'd rather just scale the wall. I like to try and leave as many people unharmed as possible on my hunts, and this IS my hunt...we leave the guards alone and find another way in. Understood?
Lia was no nonsense now. She never thought hunting was worth injuring others for...one didn't harm a wolf to find a rabbit after all! There was just no glory in a hunt where you left a bloody trail behind you. Get in, and Get out...hopefully without being noticed or spoken about....that was how she had been trained, that was how she ran things. Poor Cuir, however, didn't seem to understand this yet...and what was worse...if he'd thought she'd bristled about the Twi'lek earlier....she was definitely bristling now, standing here with her fists on her hips, glaring vibroblades at him.

Cuir threw his head back, "Seriously? I wasn't referring to killing all the guards, honestly listen before you start yelling angrily at me. I was talking about making our own entrance in the wall."
"The tree is fine, the native species here do more damage than that, I probably just made a nest for the native critters to live in, they do stuff like it all the time."
He shrugged, "Anyway, I had the sword laser-sharpened day before we left, blade's probably a micrometer thick, maybe less, depending on what the wall's made off, I could probably make a gash than bust it open. I doubt we can go over."
He reached onto the back of his belt and pulled off a pair of macrobinoculars that he kept for the rare times he teamed up with others, "If you look at the way the guards are stationed, there's no way we can go over and not get caught. We might be able to stage a distraction though."

Italia rolled her eyes at him for a moment before starting to say something, only to think better of it and close her mouth again. She hardly wanted to make their own entrance either. The less they did to attract attention the better for her...especially since this was a matter the Republic Army was in on. Taking the binoculars from him, she eyed the wall with a detached interest as she weighed their options.
First off....I still don't approve of what you did to the tree. Secondly, there may be another way in beside creating one, or even creating a distraction.
She mused, tapping a pouch on her belt and glancing over at him slightly before returning the binoculars to her eyes.
There's a caravan coming from the west. I think we can make it to the group before they're in sight of the walls. If so, I might be able to get us in without a fuss of any kind.

Cuir arched his eyebrow slightly. You couldn't tell by looking at him that he was running through thousands of different possibilities in his mind, calculating the unique scenarios and allowing them to play out in his head. So far her's was probably there best bet for sneaking in. As tough as he was, he had no desire to take on a baseful of Weequays, a vengeful Falleen and a dikut'la Besalisk. Nor did he disclose that he agreed with Lia on keeping the body count low. Not for the same reasons that she had but it'd be more difficult to capture there target with several dozen guards between them and him.
He shrugged slightly, "Your hunt. Lead the way."

Italia sighed and shrugged her shoulders, waiting to see if he had a better idea. When none came, and he asked her to lead the way, she nodded slightly and diverted her path to one where they would intercept the caravan. As they jogged along, she wondered mildly if perhaps she was being to harsh with Cuir. She couldn't help herself, she thought, because she was just so used to working with men who would rather go barging in with a "shoot first, ask questions later" attitude. That hadn't been her fault, and so she'd adapted to dealing with men of this mind-frame. Making a mental note to share this with him later, she simply ran on in silence until they neared the end of the caravan.
Slowing to a walk, she pulled something out of her belt and sidled up beside one of the men in the back, asking him if this was the road to the twi'lek settlement. Striking up a small conversation with him, she deftly moved what ever was in her right hand to her left beneath her cloak before plunging the syringe into the back of his neck. As the man groaned slightly, she told him that she and Cuir were part of their Caravan and that they were, in fact, hired as protection for the group...to which the man readily agreed. Repeating the procedure with one other man, she fell back to the back of the group with Cuir and winked at him, stowing the syringe in her belt pouch once more.
There...that wasn't so hard now was it?
She muttered to him, with a small smile.

Cuir shrugged noncommittally as they joined the caravan. He hoped she was right and this would work, "No it wasn't but, I just hope the rest of the caravan doesn't question it when it comes time to sneak in."
Cuir shifted his shoulder as he popped his neck and then quickly cracked his knuckles. Something about the way the experiments had enhanced his joints sometimes made them stiff so he'd have to pop them a little. He'd hate to be a little stiff, and wind up getting both of them killed because he just wasn't quite fast enough. He stretched his left arm across his body and popped his shoulder than repeated it with the right arm.
He turned to Mando briefly, "Keep your weapons ready in case there's trouble. My old "aquaintance" might be at the gate, and I don't know if he'll recognize me immediately or not."

God, I hope he isn't...she muttered in mando'a, more to herself than him. As they neared the gate, traveling with the caravan allowed her time to watch how the others acted around each other and to survey the area around the gate, allowing her to come up with alternatives. There was a metal ladder near the gate, leading up to the top of the wall, allowing them to slip over it if they needed to, and for a distraction there were some cages of small animals that she could free in the 'wagon' in front of them.
Even if they do question it. It seems that for what ever reason they WERE expecting some guards that never showed up yesterday...so...why would they question it for long? Either way, I'm still looking for other alternatives, just in case.
She said to him, with a slight shrug of her shoulders, the fabric over them effectively muffling the sliding and clicking of her armor as it moved.

Cuir shrugged but didn't respond. He would've preferred sneaking into the caravan and hiding in one of the wagons. They were less likely to be caught out of place there and they'd be away from prying eyes. Out in the open like this and only two of the members under the influence of whatever drug Lia had put them under, left room for questions. And in his experience questions tended to turn out ugly if there weren't good enough answers.
He chose to keep his thoughts silent, but kept one of the vibroblades hidden in his gauntlets at the ready. If someone noticed something out of place he had to be sure they wouldn't notice anything ever again, or at least for a good long time.

Italia shrugged as well. Even if someone did question it, she had a back up plan...in the form of a few smoke grenades...and confusion was always her ally. As long as she wasn't the one confused. Though, being around Cuir tended to do that to her lately.
Meanwhile, back at the ship....
The twilek girl, Neera Solina, had just reached the ship. Poking her head around the corner of the ship to peer up the ramp, she glanced around to make sure she wasn't about to be attacked. She knew the slaver who'd sold her...he didn't like selling his "better twi'lek's" as he called them...the blues, the reds, the ones who were "good at their job"....Neera had little doubt he would have sent someone after her by now to "take her off his hands." She just hoped that the human...um...person...here wouldn't just sell her back. Reaching the top of the ramp, the blue skinned woman peeked inside shyly, looking like a nervous rabbit.
"Hello?"
She called, glancing around, but not seeing anyone.

Thankfully, Daryn had left the proximity detection sensors up and running, as they worked off a different set of circuit protocols than the ones he needed for the deep space sensors. The light warble had him lifting his head a bit too quickly and paying for it with a sharp rap to the top of his head from the instrument panel. That had him seeing stars and he cursed rather colorfully for a moment before he could blink the stars away from his eyes and pull himself to his feet to see what it was. He flipped on the viewscreen, but saw nothing as she had already stepped onto the boarding ramp and had entered the ship. He pulled out that blaster, holding it at the ready as he made his way out into the main passage.
He rounded the corner, blaster up and immediately sighted upon the figure that had stolen her way onto the ship. Of course, he immediately recognized the svelte and very alluring form of a female Twi'lek and he let the blaster flag down to the ground. Italia had said that they had a woman coming. He flashed a disarming, roguish grin in her direction as he holstered that pistol.
"Hey there, darlin....Italia said that I would be having some company...but she didn't mention that it would be so alluring. Neera, correct? I'm Daryn Destrell...and the pleasure's all mine."
He'd step forward, holding out a concilliatory hand to help her up over the threshold and fully into the ship, his eyes flashing behind her out of reflex, just to make sure she wasn't followed.
