LARPing is a bit to out there for me sorry to say, but hey if it interests you go ahead and give it a try. You may found out it's really something you enjoy doing, and nothing is wrong with having some hobbies.

The way we do it,(for battles) you have 2 hit points, that counts two hits anywhere on your body(except head and groin). I try to hit you with my foam/latex sword and you do the same with yours. Armour ads Hit points to the area it covers, the heftier Armour the heftier bonus. first to Zero dies in 5 minutes if no healer or medical attention is given.

Magic works slow so you don't have the time to cast it in combat. (you actually have to have a hourglass or clockworks to count down the time of your ritual).

Healing is hands on the wounded/poisoned. For 1 minute, the damage energy has to be put into a focus(metal or wooden ball or figure). one focus is needed per heal or else the healer takes the damage into himself. To re use the focus he has to wash it in clean running water.
Once a healer had only brought a single focus and hat to run from the river to the wounded and back again after a battle. poor girl.

We like to give or players personal plots that interfere with other plots, often conflicting goals. No one WIN's our larps. A well played defeat can be more fun than making ones goal easy.

BLEH! My larps are more fun. EVERYBODY WINS IN MINE! We play more story-based. Nobody gets too powerful, no "hp" none of that. We beat each other up with big plastic oars (supposed to represent swords) until we get bored.
