On the edge of known space, Bakura is the only inhabitable world in its system. Comprised of mountainous regions, along with valleys, small seas and plains, Bakura can be described as a wetter Alderaan.
Human presence on the planet is next to none. Though the native sentient species, the Kurtzen agreed to join the Republic, colonization of the world has been prohibited. Instead, the Republic has received permission to use Bakura's fertile soils in agricultural production.
The main agricultural facility on Bakura is named the Shiritoku Botanical Facility and is run by a small contingent of Republic guards and workers from the Jedi Agricultural Corps. The facility is far from Kurtzen cities, and neither group interferes with the other.
