Mara is doing a little review in red
Pre-Birth to 4
Lozai Xeru was the child of an arranged marriage in the Republic Capital of Coruscant. His parents gave birth to him a year later. Like many Ansata children, his intellectual growth and education began early and he was enrolled in school when he was three. His memories of school though were of boredom; everything he learned was just stuff in holocrons and books, and he wanted a challenge. He soon acquired that challenge a week after his 4th birthday, when he witnessed a Jedi woman performing unusual tasks at a local food market, causing an apple to levitate and opening a door without using her hands Little to his knowledge, she intentionally used the Force in this way and she was observing his force-sensitivity. Lozai attempted to sneakily follow her but to no avail, she discovered him fairly quickly. She introduced herself as Dosaki Meras, a Togrutan Jedi Master, and continued to analyze him in an unusual manner of meditating, before deducing he wasn't ready to enter the Jedi Academy yet, and soon left. She did this however, figuring that it would, in later time, blossom more. Lozai, disappointed, though, was not deterred and began to research anything he could on the Jedi. This information though, he couldn't access when not a Jedi himself but, he then thought to how the woman meditated and figuring it had something to do with it, began to meditate himself. He found it calming and while not informative, he was unknowingly honing his force-sensitivity by his sheer efforts in focusing. Dosaki observed this with interest and, against advice from the council, brought him to the Jedi Temple. At first, they thought Lozai didn't have the applicability needed to use the Force but, when observing his intelligence, noticed it was significantly higher than it should be, even for an Ansata child. The council determined that his Force-sensitivity was in fact very cerebral, even leading to his practicing of meditation. They determined that, while he'd need guidance by a Master experienced in this if he was to become a Padawan, he was noted to be ready to join the Jedi Temple with the other Younglings.
Youngling Years: 4 to 13
Lozai was put into and particular class of Younglings. While not treating him special, Younglings that were seen with potential and particular talents were grouped together or, were observed by special Jedi Knights and Masters. The main Jedi that watched over Lozai's progression was Dosaki herself. As a former Consular and current Jedi Watchman of the Arkanis Sector at the time, she was intrigued at how quick a learner Lozai was and his infinite curiosity. Even still, Lozai wouldn't be ready to be her Padawan for quite some time and she would avoid him, simply because his infinite curiosity would drive her bonkers.
Nonetheless, Lozai went through the Academy, learning fairly efficiency in ways of the Force and Lightsaber combat. In the beginning though, one could clearly see that while he easily learned and understood lightsaber combat and practice, that applying it in sparring and in training was something different. He excelled in understanding that through focus and meditation that one can do anything with it. He showed a particular interest in using the Force to enhance one's self physically and easily picked up on talents such as Force Speed and Jump. While no master in them, his learning of them quickly seemed to both impress Dosaki and gave her a better understanding of Lozai's potential.
Lozai would grow up in the Temple, often spending his time meditating and honing his understanding of the Force as much as he could. But, he wasn't a complete shut-in. One particular Youngling he grew a bonding friendship with was a Kaminoan girl by the name of Kalas. Lozai and Kalas often spent time meditating together and sparring against each other when they were allowed. Kalas however, was not as efficient in the Force and the Jedi ways as Lozai was, or many of the Younglings. Upon the time they were both nearing the deadline for becoming a Padawan, Lozai was taken up by Dosaki as her Padawan. Kalas however, was not selected and was assigned into the Medcorps. Dosaki had told Lozai that she purposely waited until the last second to take him up as her Padawan to let him enjoy his friendship as long as possible, and to understand both it's importance and to understand the importance of detaching from it as well.
Padawan Years: 13-25
Dosaki and Lozai seemed like an interesting pair as far as Master and Padawan were concerned. On one end, Dosaki was a highly intelligent and wise Watchman, often regarding her as a Sage for her wisdom and experience and very often a voice taken into consideration for her pacifistic views and fresh insight. And then there was Lozai, a highly intelligent and curious Padwan. During their years, one could often hear Dosaki saying things like "I'll tell you when your ready." and "Does anything bore you?" Overall, the two of them held each other in good esteem. Lozai often enough, would procrastinate when it came doing things, him often saying "I wanna learn everything about the situation first." Regardless, Dosaki observed what she could of Lozai and noticed that while not physically strong as others, He was agile and fast, especially when applying the Force. In their first year together, Dosaki first brought Lozai to Dantooine’s Crystal Cave, to find a lightsaber crystal and make his first lightsaber. After he decided on a blue crystal he found, he spent the next couple of weeks constructing it and finished it by the end of the month. She then brought Lozai to Naboo and educated him in the stylings of the defensive lightsaber art of Soresu. It was a style she was regarded as a master in, depending on it and incorporating it into her pacifistic views as well. Soresu, Lozai had a difficult time picking up and didn't understand the importance of learning a defensive lightsaber art. Dosaki demonstrated its importance in one of their training sessions however. She picked up a stick and using the force weapon ability, told Lozai to attack her. When Lozai would then strike at her, she would deflect or parry his strike, then swiftly smack him in the forehead or other sensitive area with the stick. Causing no harm, but stinging quite a bit. He learnt the lesson rather quickly but, she made him continue to do this and get the smacks for a complete day and night on Naboo. As Lozai began to slowly figure out and understand the basics and essentials of Soresu, Dosaki began to demonstrate to Lozai the art of Force Healing and Force deflection. Lozai would learn these powers quickly. Her drills were often surprise drills and when least expected, Dosaki was trying to either hone his Force Sense or at least, teach him to keep an open eye at all times.
These drills would continue in this manner for most of that year, until the Jedi Council asked Dosaki to investigate a disturbance on the outer areas of Coruscant. Reports of robberies and damages came in and Dosaki took Lozai with her on the mission, figuring it wasn't too dangerous as she had kept a sharp eye, like many Watchman did. He went along with Dosaki curious about what they were doing there and why they had to move through the abandoned areas of Coruscant. Her approach proved effective though, as they came upon a small camp of Mercenaries. They were small, and Dosaki determined they were probably hired to steal valuables. The two encountered them on peaceful terms, politely asking them to leave. This proved to be unsuccessful as they soon opened fire. The two of them quickly defeated them. Lozai was about to deliver a grievous wound to one of them when Dosaki stopped him, proclaiming that a Jedi must practice in restraint and only using 'necessary force' when and if force is needed. They restrained the thieves and then brought them to be arrested at the manor of the main complainant. Lozai noticed something though, most of what was stolen was of one person's belongings, and that he didn't seem to want the items back. After some quick deductions about the value of the items and his disinterest in them, Lozai asked them how they were paid. When one of them pulled out a rare gem though, Lozai knew that something was amiss. Dosaki noticed this too as she soon enough sensed a dark presence and shortly enough, a Dark Jedi by the name of Ardas soon attacked the two of them. It turned out Ardas had paid the man to lure some Jedi here and the man did this by paying the mercenaries to steal his stuff. He soon enough engaged the two of them. He was from his banter, trying to impress his Master by bringing him the head of a powerful Jedi. His lightsaber talents however, were unable to even phase Dosaki's defensive stance. He attempted to distract her by directing a Force Lightning at Lozai. She however, didn't motion to him. Lozai used the Force Deflection he was training in for the past year and managed to block and hold the lightning at bay. Lozai however, soon got overpowered by Ardas. Before Ardas could break through Lozai's defense though, Dosaki had focused a powerful Force Push and blasted Ardas through the wall and down a nearby cliff. When Lozai suggested chasing after him, Dosaki merely commented "That is a Shadow's pursuit, not ours." And soon, the two of them were sent back to the Temple to treat Lozai's wounds, including burn damage on his hands.
After Lozai recovered from his wounds, Dosaki was soon sent on a small escort mission to escort Shili's Togrutan tribal princess, Fasoka Doni, from her tribe to another tribe located on a planet closer to that system's Star. During the mission, Lozai noticed that the princess had a very aggressive and war-like view of how she would run her country and if the tribe didn't obey her, she would rule it with an iron fist. Lozai got angry at this, learning the peaceful ways of the Jedi and the Pacificistic teachings of his master, and began to verbally confront her in a heated argument. Dosaki quickly intervened, ordering her young Padawan to be silent and while not liking this, did just that. They later dropped the princess off to the tribe to be wedded and become it's queen, Lozai looked towards Dosaki in confusion. He wanted to know why he had to be silent and she simply said. "Diplomacy is the art of appeasing those with the seats that re necessary, while advising them n the ways of peace. Arguing with her would only strain our relations with her and her people, thus straining our influence." Lozai didn't quite understand this and merely just concurred that his Master was no fool and knew better than he did.
After this mission, Lozai and Dosaki would once again begin training. During this year however, Lozai would have an accident that would shape his current form of lightsaber combat. During a sparring session with his master, he missed a block by the smallest of amounts, causing Dosaki's lightsaber to graze the handle of his own. This grazing would in turn, cause his lightsaber to turn on and off and random times. While Dosaki suggested it be repaired, Lozai noticed something. While he wasn't the most proficient in the art of Force Sense, he could use it well enough to predict when the saber would turn on or off and wanted to continue training. While she showed dislike for this, she was curious at this and continued training. Lozai would then use his speed, and using feints to block and throw off Dosaki's offense with an unorthodox defense. Lozai was then confident in his idea and decided to go repair his lightsaber. In their sessions, Lozai would begin turning his lightsaber on and off to defend and feint attacks, something that Dosaki didn't approve of it noticed the unorthodox style made Lozai more interested in lightsaber training. Dosaki figured that his interest determined his work ethic. And later on that year, she figured out a way to further interest him. She during one training session, handed Lozai her Lightsaber, and picked up pair of sticks. While no master in this style, she was more than capable of teaching him the basics and essentials of it and that it would as well, increased Lozai's interest. This time on Naboo would also prove important as Lozai would discover a unique talent of his in the Force. During a time on Naboo, Lozai would take interest in the droids the people owned on it. During a training session, a scout droid would zoom towards them, the owner misprogramming its directionals. Lozai, for some reason, tried to focus the Force on it to stop it, confusing his master. The next event that unfolded had Lozai stop the droid with the Force and direct it back to it's master. Curious, Lozai asked his master what happened and she informed him it was a power in the Force that allowed one to alter and control droids. She said that it was also a Darkside ability but that intent determines whether one is dark, not the power. While taking a short Visit back to the Jedi Temple to consul with the Council on this development by Lozai, Lozai finishes construction on his second lightsaber, now having two of his own to utilize.
Upon his second lightsabers completion, Dosaki decided to intensify Lozai's training in Lightsaber combat and the Force, to prepare him for their departure as Padawan and Master in the coming years. Focusing his training on teaching him how to utilize her specialty powers of the Art of the Small and Crucitorn and educating him in the finer aspects of Shii-Cho and Soresu and Force Healing. Lozai had difficulty understanding Crucitorn's concepts of using the force to negate his pain. art of the Small practice he picked up on, using it to change his appearance and conceal himself both physically and in the Force. Their training would be interrupted later in the year as they were sent on a mission to Felucia to investigate a surge of the Dark Side in the planet's natural flow of energy. They would go there in company with another Jedi Knight Grale Numas. While on the planet though, they were soon enough ambushed by the local Felucians, flowing with the energy of the Dark Side, showing a Dark Jedi was at work.
In the Ambush, Dosaki and Lozai were outnumbered and separated, Grale being killed and Dosaki being captured. Lozai would be left to fend for himself against the Felucians but, managed to defeat them using the dropship's shields to give him time to concentrate and modify a couple of the down medical droids into battledroids and have them assist him against the Felucians. After fending off the Felucians, he modified one of the battledroids into two scout droids, before collapsing to the ground from his wounds and exhaustion. In the couple hours he was out, the ships medical droid treated his wounds as best as it could while the scout droids and battledroids kept guard. Not taking time to recover, Lozai searched and found a single holocron on the ground where the battle took place. In the short time before her capture, Dosaki made a short holocron instructing Lozai to not come for her and to go back to the Jedi Temple and inform the council of what transpired. Lozai naturally like most Padawan, refused to leave his Master to die. Though he did send a distress call to the Temple, he then left taking only the scout droids with him, Lozai searched out the fauna of Felucia, hoping to find where Dosaki was taken to. After several hours of searching he did manage to do just this, finding a small facility that was being constructed y the Felucians, most likely forced labor. Lozai would then go to the recent teachings of his Master to sneak in, hiding his physical and Force presence using the Art of the Small. While flickering here and there in his concentration, he managed to maneuver through the facility to Dosaki's cell. Not impressing her through disobeying her orders, Lozai proclaimed that he only "Half-Disobeyed her orders, so she should only be half-angry with him." Dosaki just laughed at this and thanked him for his aide as the two made their exit through the facility using the ability Lozai did to enter it undetected. However, they weren't undetected, as they soon were surrounded outside by a group of Felucians and military droids. The culprit of this event turned out to be a mysterious Twi’Lek dark Jedi who did not disclose his name. The two of them were lured into a trap and they didn't like it. For ten minutes, the two fought for their lives against the mass, impressing the unusual Jedi with their defensive talents with lightsabers and the Force. He then made a mass strike, using Force lightning and while destroying the Felucians and droids battling the two of them, attempted to shock them as well. They both managed to deflect it but, it left Lozai very angry that he killed them, asking him "Why the useless death, they were helping you?!?" He only replied that "They served their purpose and now were useless, so he threw them away." Despite Dosaki's attempts to calm and restrain Lozai, he charged towards the Twi’Lek and engaged him in combat. It was short lived as the Dark Jedi’s lightsaber talents heavily outmatched Lozai's.
Using the force, Lozai compiled and modified the destroyed droids into superbattledroids in his anger, impressing the Dark Jedi with the use of a Dark Side power. The droids were quickly dispatched however and he soon went back to attacking Lozai. However, Dosaki was able to join in this time, telling Lozai "Together, he can defeat this scum. As a Jedi, you’re never alone. Remember that." She said as the two engaged him in combat. This time, things went differently. The combined use of Dosaki's Soresu mastery and Lozai's unorthodox variation of Soresu ultimately exhausted and irritated the Twi’lek who tried to overpower them with the Force. Interested in Lozai's use of the Force and knowledge, he knocked Dosaki down a hill and attacked Lozai's mind, using the Dark Side to forcefully tear memories and knowledge from his mind. Lozai screamed in agony as his memories were torn. Luckily enough, Dosaki intervened in time to prevent any severe damage by severing the Dark Jedi’s right arm, forcing him to flee. However, the Twi’Lek did manage to tear away Lozai's memories of his parents. Lozai soon enough collapsed from the pain and his injuries. Dosaki began to treat his wounds with Force healing though. Despite her efforts, the memories would never be recovered. In the next hour though, a Jedi dropship arrived to pick the two of them and Grale's corpse. Lozai would spend several weeks receiving treatment in an attempt to return his memories to him but, all of them would fail. His memories of his parents would be lost forever.
Dosaki would after Lozai's recovery, take Lozai to Tatooine to help him relax and give him a break but, Lozai wouldn't allow this. He proclaimed to his master that "It's my own weakness that lead to this. Had I been stronger or better, this could have been stopped." To which, Dosaki sighed and replied to Lozai "Sometimes my Young Padawan, things happen that no matter how talented, intelligent, or powerful we may be, cannot be prevented or changed. That is the way of Life and the Force." They both then went back to training while on Tatooine, within the year, Lozai would prove his efforts successful as he would come to a complete understanding and mastery of Shii-Cho. When this did indeed occur, Dosaki simply stated that "This is further proof that your efforts and dedication will soon enough make you a Knight amongst the Jedi Order." During this short time training however, they were soon interrupted as the Tatooine tribe they were staying with, was soon attacked by a regiment of military droids. They defended it with the best of their ability but, the attack was merely a cover as the two were soon ambushed by a Dark Jedi. It was in fact, Ardas from their first mission on Coruscan. And soon enough, he attacked them and had a group of battle tanks attack the village, forcing Dosaki to defend the tribe. While doing this struck Dosaki down and held her hostage, forcing Lozai to drop his Lightsaber and go with him. He knocked the two of them unconscious and took them to an unusual location. When Lozai came too, he was tied up, along with Dosaki, and Dosaki was being beaten and pummeled and tortured. Despite all the torture, all her concentration into Crucitorn made the physical torture nearly useless. Noticing this, he began to torture Lozai. Unlike his master though, Lozai couldn't resist the torture and screamed in agony to his torment by lightsaber slashes, beatings, and Force Lightning. However, Lozai's will made him refuse to satisfy Ardas's sadistic need to make the Jedi beg for mercy. Lozai instead, spit in his face, telling him to go find a droid if he wants to have something beg for him. At this, Ardas went into a rage and slashed at Lozai's throat with his lightsaber, delivering a severe, near fatal wound to Lozai. He then mocked Dosaki, claiming that he had slain her little lapdog. Dosaki just laugh and spit at Lozai, proclaiming "A useless dog as any." In reality though, she purposely spit on Lozai's wound and used to Force to focus and heal Lozai's wounds using her saliva to keep him alive.
For several weeks, Lozai was in an unconscious, near death state while Dosaki continued to be tortured and beaten closer and closer to death. Within the third week however, Lozai barely managed to come to consciousness, to awaken to the site of Dosaki being near her rope's end. However, Lozai's bonds were loosened from Ardas believing he was deceased. In addition to this, he left his lightsaber on the table to taunt Dosaki, mocking her to go and get it. Instead, Lozai got it and proclaimed "Don't forget about me now!" And, before Ardas could take out his lightsaber, Lozai decapitated him and collapsed to the floor on his knees. Lozai then forced himself up and forced himself to carry his unconscious master all the way to the tribal village. Unfortunately for Lozai, they didn't have any medical supplies to treat such grievous wounds and he sent out a desperation call to the Jedi Council, only having enough energy to say "Me and my master will both dead if you don't..." and then collapsed to his knees. Lozai, would also make every effort he could to save Dosaki's life while waiting for help. Using every bit of concentration and energy he had, he attempted to heal her wounds with Force Healing. His talent in this field however, wasn't good enough to stop her bleeding and organ failures occurring. She did however, manage to come to consciousness to look at her and Lozai' wounds over wth a glance and look towards Lozai and with her final breath, telling him "Lozai....you....will make....a great Jedi Knight and Master....I just wish I could be there to witness it." And with those words, she shortly after died. Lozai, determined to save her, focused with all he could to try and bring her back. Jedi Knights Lu-Hon Vise and Jumera arrived in time to witness this desperate struggle and had to pull Lozai off his deceased master, before Lozai soon fell into a critical state from his wounds ad the excessive strain. Lozai would then fall into a comatose state for a week as the Jedi Council reviewed the happenings and the severity of his wounds.
In the week he came out of his coma, he was given an audience by the council, informing him that Dosaki did not make it and she was given a traditional Jedi funeral of her body's burning. At hearing this, he left with much angry and sadness in his heart at the loss of his master. He also didn't know what to do or how to handle what had happened. He then, in her ship, was approached by a droid that, before she ws captured, was programmed to in light of her demise, to deliver a message to her Padawan, Lozai. In the Droid's message, all that was said was "True courage is confronting what one fears, and detaching oneself from their rages, and to follow the true path of enlightenment." At hearing this, Lozai began to think, before coming to a decision. He went back to Tatooine and went to the original chamber where he and Dosaki were tortured. He then, sat in that chamber, and meditated about everything that occurred. He focused on all the memories of that horrible time, trying to completely understand and overcome it. It took Lozai nearly an entire year before he could overcome his anger and fear and when he did, he walked out and simply said to himself "Thank You Master." Upon his return from his time spent in the chamber, the Council heard of the events that occurred and of Lozai's recent visit and intents, and determined he indeed, was worthy of being a Jedi Knight. When he asked them he, they told to him. "You have passed the three Trials Lozai. You have proved your skill in the defeat of Ardas, you have sustained the loss of your master and a permanent scar, and have faced the pinnacle of your anger and horror and overcome it. You Lozai, have earned the right to be called, a Jedi."
Knight Years: 25-35
Upon becoming a Knight, Lozai was assigned his first Padawan. A Human boy named Gru Menra. Gru-La was an unusually gifted Padawan when he first acquired him when it came to Lightsaber combat, and was also quite aggressive in his approach and ideals. Gru, or ‘Combs’ due to the Child’s insistence to keep his hair wild and untamed. He gave Gru that nickname as a sarcastic hint to the young Padawan to do as his name suggests. Gru was also a very vocal Padawan, often speaking back towards Lozai and calling him ‘Wussman’ for his pacifistic views. Lozai would take Gru to Naboo to begin his teachings, in honor of Dosaki. He would start by teaching him in the ways of Force Healing, believing it to the core of any Jedi’s education, much like his Master. Gru, at first, heavily disliked it and even attempted to refuse learning it. Then, Lozai informed him of how he failed to save his Master, Dosaki, from death. He told him all the horrific details of her injuries and how, despite his attempts, she still perished. Gru then understood what the message was here: If he didn’t learn it, he would be forced to do nothing in the situation Lozai was in. He then agreed to learn this and Lozai began to teach this to his Padawan. He didn’t begin any serious Lightsaber training and for the next two years, Lozai focused on teaching his Padawan how to be more understanding in the ways of the Force. During this time, Lozai manages to finish construction on his 3rd and final lightsaber, one he designed with an engraving of the Ansata symbol for ‘Master’, in memory of Dosaki.
At the end of their 2nd year as Master and Padawan, they were sent out on a convoy protection mission in the Mustafar system. However, the pirates attacking the convoy figured out their plan and shot their cruiser down, forcing them to crash land on Mustafar itself. There, they were chased and pinned down near a cliff. Lozai knew things were bad and they only grew worse when the cliff was struck with a lasercannon blast, separating the two and knocking Gru off the cliff. Gru managed to survive but, was stranded upon a rock in the middle of a lava pool. Lozai, deciding that time was short, used Mechu-deru to reprogram the astromech droid on the Starfighter to fire at the pirates to distract him while he effortlessly dived off the cliff to save his Padawan. He came to dilemma however as, even with his Force Jump, there was no way off the stranded rock in a single jump. Lozai decided that he could do it in three jumps if he didn’t sink into the magma, and if they were perfect jumps. Lozai, thinking of only protecting his unconscious Padawan, threw Gru onto his back and made the leaps. Focusing heavily on the Force, Lozai managed to successfully use Crucitorn and jump onto the magma then off before reaching a small ship. This however, didn’t come without a price, as Lozai severely burned the bottom of his feet and became unable to walk. Luckily for the two, part of the convoy managed to locate them and soon brought them onboard to get treatment for the two’s injuries.
After their recovery a couple weeks later, the first thing Lozai does is bring his Padawan back to Naboo. He then tells him. “Next time, you get to do the jumping.” And from that moment, begins to teach his young Padawan the use of Force Speed and Force Jump. This training period, was short lived however as they were needed to escort Senator Meridas Juscha to Coruscant after making an appearance on Geonosis. However, they soon found out that the ship’s crew are actually spies and are attempting to bring the Senator to a Dark Jedi Master in return for a large reward. Lozai, knowing this, waited on it however. After all, saying something then wouldn’t have proved useful. Instead, Lozai began to reprogram the ship little by little while they were flying. After a couple days travel, Lozai struck his plan right as they were reaching the point were the Senator’s suspicions rose, Lozai initiated and commanded the Cruiser’s Medical droids, themselves reprogrammed to capture and detain the crew and then, fly the ship back to Coruscant. When Gru noticed this plan’s final results, he was left speechless.
After the two escorted the Senator and arrested the crew, they discovered that the same Dark Jedi Master that organized this attempted kidnapping, also organized and plotted a war on an unknown planet in Wild Space. Sending Lozai and his Padawan, along with Jedi Knights Jumera and Jedi Consular Peridos Jaku, the group went there to stop the war or attempt to. Along the way, the very vocal Padawan becomes distraught when he discovered that also there, is Captain Gulok Marvay, the man that attacked his village and killed his family, which ultimately led to his being orphaned and brought into the Jedi Temple in the first place. When Lozai noticed this, he simply said. “At least you have memories of your parents, try cherishing those rather than wishing for Vengeance.” After which, he walked away in disgust. Peridos would then inform the Young Padawan that during a battle with a Dark Jedi, Lozai’s memories of his life before the Jedi order were ripped from him. Before they can mend their disagreements however, they managed to land on the planet. The two local races, the Catuman and the Anzat, were fighting over the loss of the Anzat’s prized relics and the Catuman’s princess, Shenru. From the understanding of what was occurring between the warring tribes, each blamed the other for what occurred. Peridos stayed with the tribes to try negotiating with them and buy time for Jumera, Lozai, and Gru to either find what was lost, or prove it was the doing of a third party and end the reason for this war. The planet however, was riddled with caves and underground catacombs, making the task both difficult and dangerous if one expected their arrival. Nonetheless, the three set out into the caves to try and find what was going on. Navigating the caves proved difficult however, and the dangers of the cave were still unseen, leaving them all suspicious and on their guard. What they discovered though when they reached their destination, disturbed them.
There they found the mutilated body of the Catuman princess, being experimented on with various mechanical parts and devices. And there, they found Dark Jedi they were seeking. As it turned out, it was the same one from Felucia that had ripped Lozai’s memories from him. Lozai looked towards his Padawan as he Force grabbed the Relic and a Holocron showing what had transpired and looked towards his Padawan. “Bring these to Peridos and inform him we found the traitor to the Order.” Despite his wish to fight, Lozai pointed out that the area was too small for the three to fight the Dark Jedi and that there mission was to stop the war and ordered his Padawan to leave. Disgruntled, he did as he was asked and fled the caves. Lozai and Jumera would then engage the Twi’Lek. All too well aware of Lozai’s unorthodox Soresu style and Force deflection ability, he attacked Jumera and focused his strikes on her. However, he was surprised to see no matter how many times he tried to strike his offense at her, Lozai would defend her. Afterwards, she would then launch an offense towards the Dark Jedi, the two performing and executing a unique combination of Jumera’s quick, precise offense with Makashi and Lozai’s precise and unorthodox use of Soresu and Jar’Kai. Their attack timing and combinations quickly overwhelmed and pinned him down, forcing him to cause a cave-in to escape. Jumera and Lozai quickly fled the cave only to arrive at a scene that disappointed Lozai. Instead of delivering the relic and holocron, he was fully engaged in a battle with General Gulok’s droids. When Gru tried to tell Lozai that he was here waiting for him when he left the cave, Lozai simply drew ut his lightsaber. The amount of droids was too large, even for the three of them to take head on. Lozai then instructed Jumera and Gru to “Give me three minutes.” Upon which, Gru took a spot in front of Lozai and deflected shots fired at him as much as he could. Gru and Jumera continued to block shots as Lozai focused on the command center that General Gulok was atop and when the three minutes passed, it soon shut down. In a couple seconds, it rebooted and shortly enough, Gulok’s own droids charged towards and apprehended him. When Jumera saw this, she simply shook her head and said. “All hail Lozai, the Jedi Droidmaster.” Lozai simply smirked as he told Jumera to keep an eye on Gulok while he and Gru would deliver the needed details to end this war. However, upon their arrival to the area, a shock was seen.
Both tribes were destroyed and Peridos was engaged in lightsaber combat with an unknown foe. Lozai realized this was all a trap for Peridos and quickly arrived to assist Peridos. Peridos would simply say. “The Apprentice, started the war, so the Master could destroy them all without blame.” Lozai then realized, the one they dueled in the cave was the apprentice, and the one Peridos was dueling with now, was the Master. Lozai then brought out both of his Lightsabers and looked towards his Padawan, saying “Bring Jumera here as fast as you can.” Without arguing with Lozai this time, Gru left to get her, Lozai knowing they’d need all the help they could get to take down the Dark Jedi Master. Peridos, before re-engaging in battle, simply warned Lozai “Beware of his Force Powers, horrible things they have made me see.” The two of them attempted to mount an offensive against the Master, however, his lightsaber abilities were way beyond their’s combined. The Master would Comment on Lozai’s unusual style, stating “If you had been a master in that unusual style of yours, I would have much difficulty.” He then blasted Lozai off a cliff. Lozai however, managed to focus and grab onto the cliff using the Force and soon jumped back up. Instead of directly engaging the Master, Lozai began to conceal himself in the Art of the Small and waited.
He watched as Peridos was soon enough, knocked down and disarmed. Just as he was about to deliver the killing blow on Peridos, Lozai appeared out of nowhere it seemed and before the Sith Lord could react, Lozai landed a direct blow on the Master’s sword arm. The Sith Lord Backed away and applauded Lozai then, stating that “Your unorthodox style and use of the Force combined together make you an impressive Jedi. I will keep my eye on you.” He would say as he fled at the arrival of a dropship as Jumera arrived. Lozai would then shake his head. “Cunning and cowardice go hand in hand, they dance on a fine line.” Before the four of them soon left the now barren planet to return to the Jedi Temple to report what had occurred.
After this series of missions, Lozai brings Gru to Naboo to begin furthering his education in Soresu. This however, disappointed Gru, who wanted to learn all the flips and spins and big moves and stated that “Defense is for cowards.” At hearing this, Lozai went back to memories of Dosaki’s teachings and without hesitation, picked up a stick and told Gru to “Attack me with everything he got.” And, just like the years before, the Master would parry his student’s attempts and shortly after, swiftly strike him with the stick to give him a sting. And, like Dosaki did before, he made him do it even after learning the importance of defense. And like Dosaki, he made his Padawan learn it for the entire day and night. Along this time, Lozai would also focus his teachings to Force Protection and defense as well, before within the next following year, completely intensifying his Padawan’s training regiment. And, like the years before, it would prove highly effective as during this time, Gru managed to master Shii-Cho and understand it completely, making Lozai very proud. Lozai would also notice his young Padawan’s unique power begin to blossom, as Gru would manage to, while practicing Force Jump, unexpectedly use Force Levitation. Deciding to do what his master hadn’t, Lozai began to focus all of his training of Gru into this skill until he could use it on his own. In the same year, they would be sent out on a short mission to investigate a disturbance in the Force on Mustafar. As it turned out, the disturbance was that of the Dark Jedi Curanis Nevari attempting to use the factories to create a droid legion for himself. However, their encounter would prove shorter than expected, as Gru defeated the Dark Jedi within a couple seconds of Lightsaber combat. A disturbing fact the Jedi revealed was soon noticed as he stated “With this death, this body fades, but yours is fine.” Lozai would in a last second save, Force Push Gru out of the way as the Jedi attempted to transfer his essence into Gru’s body. When this failed, the Curanis made a kamikaze attempt by throwing himself into a power generator, attempting to destroy all three of them. Lozai would then Force Push Gru once more a far distance while making a Force Bubble around himself. However, he didn’t do it fast enough as the explosion destroyed most of Gru’s left eye, leaving him blind in it and forcing Gru to get a cybernetic eye to replace it. Upon their return, the Council determine that Gru is worthy of becoming a Jedi Knight while passing the Three trials on Mustafar and in Wild Space. This would in turn, lead to Lozai being promoted to the rank of Jedi Master.
Master Years: 35-current
Upon becoming a Jedi Master, Lozai’s first assignment is to protect a Cruiser escorting Senator Kau Kau to Naboo from Mustafar alongside his former Padawan. Like times before, their luck seemed to bring them another pirate attack. Something immediately seemed odd about the attack, as they didn’t directly engage them. Lozai took advantage of this and using the Force, began to reprogram the Astromech droids to aim for each other, taking out five Pirate gunships in this manner. Lozai then noticed the presence of the Dark Side on a Starfighter and realizes this attack is towards them, not the Senator. They both then decide to take escape pods down to one of Naboo’s moons to let the Senator escape. Upon their landing, they encounter the Dark Jedi from the caves. Lozai and Gru immediately engage in combat with him. The Apprentice would once again find that the combination of Lozai’s defense and a fast offense was too much for him. The Twi’lek would then make a drastic move, throwing his lightsaber at Gru. Gru managed to block it however, his plan was to do this and maneuver to Gru’s side. He drew another lightsaber and Lozai could only watch as the Dark Jedi impaled Gru in the chest with his lightsaber, killing him. Lozai would look on at this and growl, before saying “That, will be the final life you take.” Lozai then attacked the Dark Jedi. Lozai put on a more aggressive offense, intentionally parrying and then, maneuvering behind the Dark Jedi using Force Speed. Lozai would then purposely let the Twi’Lek land a strike and, move into the lightsaber as it impaled his right shoulder and grab it with his arm. The Dark Jedi stared in confusion as Lozai used Crucitorn to ignore the pain, before he then impaled the Dark Jedi in the throat. Removing the lightsaber then, Lozai would then bring his former Padawan’s body to receive a proper Jedi funeral.
During this same year, Lozai focuses more to attuning his connection with the Force, refusing to take on any Padawans after witnessing Gru’s demise. His focus became all about the Force and understanding it. To further accommodate this journey of self-exploration and understanding, Lozai offered to take his old Master’s stead as Watchman of the Arkanis sector. The council at the time, seeing nothing wrong with that, assigned him to the Sector. He would first begin on Tatooine, honing his mastery of the Art of the Small, disguising himself as a local slave while observing the going ons within the planet. While on Tatooine, he discovered the disturbing news of a local military attempting production on a new bioweapon. Upon arriving to the facility, he found this to be true, as he found the weapon was a viral capsule launcher, a virus that would cause debilitating pain and then death. Lozai would shortly enough, infiltrate the facility. Using the Art of the Small, he continued to make it into the facility and its deeper sectors, before coming to room where the virus was being made. He heard news of them wishing to test it on slaves and became disgusted as he soon entered into the room and began erasing all the holocrons regarding the creation process of the virus, and reprogramming the droids to go berserk and destroy the facility. Lozai then left, knowing that in the very least, he had halted the production of the weapon.
Lozai’s next accomplishment as a Watch would be that of negotiating a peace treaty between warring tribes on Geonosis, after several weeks of carefully manipulated events to bring the warring tribes to a standstill by destroying their weapons and misdirecting their scouts. It would ultimately lead to this treaty between the tribes to have a long-lasting peace. During his time on Geonosis, Lozai came to a complete understanding and mastery of Soresu, honing his talent in it to the maximum. As well, Lozai gained a near complete mastery of Mechu-deru, and how to within short amounts of time do significant alterations and programming changes. This would become pertinent in a coming encounter as Lozai was told to go and assist Jedi Knight Jumera on Tatooine, as she was trapped and in need of assistance. Since he was on Tatooine at the time, he rushed there to find a regiment of Superbattle droids going against her. Lozai would focus on them and took complete control of one of them and had it fire at its compatriots. Lozai soon noticed though a Dark presence just as a Jedi dropship arrived to get them out of there. Lozai shortly enough, engaged in combat with the Dark Jedi Master from Wild Space, and he Force Pushed Jumera onto the ship and told them to go, despite the fact that Jumera wanted to help Lozai, he had altered the ship’s programming to jam the landing gear and set them on a path to the Jedi Temple.
Lozai would fiercely engage the Dark Jedi Master and his vicious attacks. Flashing lightsabers from Lozai wielding both and displaying his mastery of Soresu, the Master noted that Lozai was much improved and blasted him with Force Lightning. Despite Lozai’s proficiency in it, he was overpowered and shocked into unconsciousness. Lozai would come to a couple hours later, by a vicious lashing to the face. This lashing would be the first of many, as the Dark Jedi Master and his new apprentice began to physically and brutally torture and beat Lozai. However, Lozai, like Dosaki before, used Crucitorn to negate the pain of it, angering the two of them greatly. It would go on for a year before the Master noted that “Physical Torture has not done anything. Let’s try something else.” And soon after that, he began to grab into Lozai’s mind and pull his worst memories and experiences out. The death of his master, the torture chamber, Gru’s death, his futile attempts to save Dosaki, all were relived over and over. Lozai, was unable to take this though, and screamed in agony and despair at all the memories he had to relive over and over again on a seemingly endless loop. Three months of this occurred, before Lozai was finally discovered. A team of Jedi consisting of Jumera, Peridos, and Jedi Guardians Jali Junas and Fenga Myn were all sent in and burst into the facility where Lozai was kept. Distracting the Dark Jedi Master, Lozai was given relief from his seemingly endless torment as the four of them engaged the Lord and Apprentice. Ultimately, they managed to fend them off and forced them to retreat, and with that, they had rescued Lozai from his prison of torment. Lozai soon went into unconsciousness and into a comatose state for two weeks, a full team of Jedi Healers kept at his stead. Now, Lozai awakens from his coma.
Comments:
-- You put the "though" in there a lot. I would probably delete most of them. A few asides like that are okay, but too many are distracting.
