Advertising

Dear members of SWU, I am asking you to help with the progression of this board. That's right, I am branching out from the regular reliance upon the staff members for a number of things.

First of all I would like to talk about advertisement for the board in a general sense, we are advertised on a number of different forums, something which I've put a fair amount of time into. Now, I am not demanding anything from you, I simply believe that as our number of members on the board grows, so should our branches of advertisement. Perhaps you're a member on a different board? Advertise us there! If you can pull in one or two new members, and then they pull in one or two members the size of the forum will expand at a decent rate. Now, for some this might be the only place where you roleplay, but if you know anyone who likes writing or Star Wars, then don't be afraid to point them in our direction. Also, taking after Halmtier's lead would be a great help, leaving a poster with tearaway pieces of paper with the site's url at a convention seemed to help our boom of members previously, for more information about this please talk to Halmtier. I hope you will all do what you can.

Now, onto the other aim of this thread. With this board being a Proboards forum, we are free to advertise the site on the Proboard home forum, which has an extremely large number of visitors daily. However, we only have one thread with which to advertise this site, and myself being not that great when it comes to advertisement, I thought I would leave this something for you, our members, to have a go at. This way I think you might get more of a sense of involvement in the site, so have a go at a possible way to advertise this site. I will have to include the story of the board so that people will be able to grasp some concept of our time-frame etc.

So if anyone's interested, think away and post up any and all ideas, if you don't really want anyone else to see/discuss them here, you can send it to me via pm, I'd just appreciate any or fresh ideas you guys might have.

So I'll leave this thread open to talk about general advertisement of the board and the small project.

Well just one thing? Has our thread on the proboards forum already been set up? and if so can you provide the link?

Also I would love to make a banner or at least something to make the thread a little more flashy.

Assuming that the thread isn't up yet, then here are a few things I think would be good to mention

-Plot/timeline
-The opportunities SWU provides(Jedi/Dark Jedi/Merc/Special Forces)
-Number of Members/Per day and Total(we are probably the most organized active SW RP forum around, so make sure that they know that)

All in All I think we just need to make it look flashy and impressive

A Starwars Con is coming up soon in North America! I'll be there and will be sure to throw up some fliers and put in a good word for the site.
