Birthplace: Dorin
Faction: Jedi
Rank: High Council Member
Bio: Kil Gorn was born into a important family on Dorin. He was very happy with his family and extremely proud of his father who worked with the royal family as an Baran Do Sage. He learned some ways of the force through his father a force sensitive. The position of Baran Do Sage required some use of the force and his father had intended his son to take his place. That changed when the Jedi located Kil and marked him as strong in the force. His father allowed him to go with the Jedi. Leaving his home world that he loved so deeply was hard.
He was forced to adjust to the harsh environment of Coruscant and constructed himself a breathing mask so he would be able to survive and see. He quickly got used to speaking through the mask, on his home world everyone had spoken through telepathy. The Jedi instructor showed little mercy on the new students. He was going to form a strong class of Jedi, the master old and wise feared another young class of Jedi would fall to the dark side as many of his friends and allies had years ago. This shaped Kil Gorn’s first years in the order. Quickly showing strong telekinetic abilities that his people were famous for the Master enjoyed his presence in the class. Kil Gorn kept to himself in these early years trying to expand is knowledge of the force, often spending days at a time meditating. At age nine Kil Gorn was assigned a master. A Human by the name of Jake Tower, at the age 28 was young and energetic. Their first mission together on a world of injustice tested their friendship and their commitment to justice.
On Nar Shaddaa, the two Jedi made their way to their contact deep in the underworld of the city. Jake did most of the talking Kil listened intently. They were sent after a “friend“ of the contact. Jake quickly agreed to the deal and left the contact. Kil Gorn was confused and questioned his master about it. Jake answered cryptically, “The force shall guide us my padawan.”
Kil Gorn had studied the force and understood that his master might be right. As they traveled through the city they witnessed first hand the effects of corruption. The city was rotting away, gangs littered the streets and Kil Gorn examined this with great curiosity. As they approached their target Jake looked to the man and questioned him. He said he had no idea about the contact. Kil Gorn could sense he was lying and Jake could as well. Using the force he retrieved the answer to his questions. The contact was a gang lord; The Gang Lord had sent the Jedi to kill him
Returning to the Gang lord the two Jedi were ambushed because they had been being watched by the Gang all along. Rather than fighting Jake let the men capture them. The gang took their blades and led them deep under the city. There they were placed with hundreds of others working in a spice lab. They were beaten and tortured to exhaustion as they worked. During the night Jake woke the sleeping Kil Gorn and with a strange smile. He helped him up and then unlocked their cage. The several others from in their cage quietly followed them. Jake used the force to distract the guards while Kil unlocked the remainder of the cages. They then quickly led the prisoners out of the hell hole. After they had escaped Jake returned inside and to the Drug lord. As Jake went to confront the Drug Lord Kil used his abilities in telepathy and convinced the Drug lord to return their blades and free the remaining prisoners.
The Jedi praised both of their performances in the situation never resorting to violence when they easily could have fallen into the temptation. Jake was promoted to the rank of master 12 years later and Kil had aged to 22 and been knighted.
Wise and calm Kil had become a powerful force user. His abilities with the lightsaber were a necessary precaution he would take to defend himself but he rarely used it. Jake and Kil had several more adventures together before Jake joined the council and Kil began to venture on his own more and more. Still during this time they remained close friend and fought together on several missions for the Council. Kil focused his time on the force trying to discover its secrets. This is when he decided to journey the Galaxy
The Traveller
At Age 25 Kil decided to wander the galaxy seeking enlightenment. Jake offered to go with him but Kil refused respectfully. Jake understood and remained at the temple. Kil Gorn made the Journey difficult on purpose, taking little money and disguising himself as a beggar. He considered the Galaxy as ugly and twisted. He had seen many times before on his journey that few were good and that the Jedi worked many trivial cases out in the galaxy that shouldn’t have even been necessary to begin with. He needed this journey to see what he was fighting for. His travels first led him to Kashyyyk. There he met with the leaders. They were at first apprehensive of Kil. He stayed on the outskirts of the cities living off of the land. There he stayed for several months until a Wookiee leader went hunting. His hunting party was attacked by a Giant Terentatek. Kil emerged from the forest and engaged the monster. After a long battle between the beast and the Jedi. Kil carried the Wookiee leader on a stretcher lifted by the force. The Wookiees took him in and allowed him to learn of their culture. He stayed with them for a little over two years, helping them in small conflicts. The village would have been lost without his abilities in battle and his convincing of several other tribes to help them rebuild their cities.
The Jedi had finally found that beauty did remain in the galaxy, he had found that justice did still exist and the galaxy was worth saving. He felt a disturbance in the force and started to consider leaving. He enjoyed his stay on Kashyyyk a little longer but had figured out that his time there was over. He had meditated deeply and the force led him to only one conclusion. The to find the light he must first jump into the abyss. He now journeyed to the darkest reach of the galaxy Korriban.
After ship hopping for several months he finally found a ship bound for the dark
planet. As the ship neared Dreshae Kil Gorn could already feel the pull of the Dark
Side. It was amazingly powerful and appealing. He found that dark Jedi still
remained in the city and they didn’t seem to notice Kil. He had concealed himself\
well; some didn’t even seem to see him at all. Others barely acknowledged him. He moved his way through the city and felt many deep tremors in the force. He left the city that night and entered the valley. There he battled with several dark beasts influenced by the dark side. They put up a fight but with Kil Gorn’s superior force skills and adequate lightsaber skills they were no match for him. He then meditated in the valley for the remainder of the night. He could sense the beasts surrounding him but none attacked.
The next morning he awoke and journeyed deeper into the valley. He entered a tomb and found a pool of dark energy. He looked into it and pondered what he should do. It called to him by name and he started moving towards it. The lure of the dark side was unbearable. He kept moving forward, the energy pool actually moved out towards him as if to consume him. He was about to walk into it as he heard his master’s voice. This snapped him out of the trance he quickly headed for the exit. Only to be confronted by a Trandoshan Dark Jedi and a battle droid. Even though he had grown to dislike Trandoshans in his dealing with the s he first tried to convince the Dark Jedi to leave the evil corrupt place. The Dark Jedi refused.
The Dark Jedi pulled out his blade and challenged Kil. Left with no choice Kil pushed him out of the tomb with the force. Kil pulled out his blade and offered the Dark Jedi redemption. The Dark Jedi refuse, attacking Kil with force lighting. Kil blocked it with his blade. The Dark Jedi screamed in pain and was horribly disfigured as the electricity burned his face. Still he wouldn’t quit. Kil begged the Dark Jedi to stop the storm but he refused until he passed out. Kil extinguished his lightsaber and stood head down at the corrupt thing below him.
The scarred man before him was an example of the Dark Side’s betrayal of its users. The man had somehow survived but was breathing erratically. Kil couldn’t take him with him and felt the life slipping away from the Dark Jedi. He made his way out of the valley and left the planet. He had decided for sure that the universe needed the Jedi, and he wouldn’t let the world become like the Dark Jedi; rotting and corrupt.
After several more months of traveling, Kil finally made it back to Coruscant. He had been gone five years and the Jedi had believed he was dead. Jake was overjoyed to see him. Jake had grown much older and looked upset. He had taken another apprentice in the time Kil had left and the apprentice had caused him much distress. Kil Gorn asked if he could take the apprentice. To his surprise the apprentice was a . The had much potential but was uncontrollable. They had all tried to calm him and teach him, but to no avail. They were about to send him out of the order into something else when Kil Gorn arrived.
During his time on Kashyyyk he learned much of the culture and was able to understand the . Kil Gorn quickly adapted to his new apprentice and after many weeks of Tarcca angrily yelling and Kil keeping his calm the warmed up to him. The Council was amazed that he had been able to do this. Kil Gorn and the bonded and the began to show much promise. For the first years they didn’t have many errands for the Jedi Council. The had been known to be violent and quick to fight so they wanted to teach him to be calm. When soon Kashyyyk came under attack. A rouge corporation was trying to force the s to reduce their taxes on their supplies and were secretly trying to make slaves out of the s. After the council discovered this, they decided that the pair was the best choice to help solve the problem. Kil Gorn and his apprentice joined the clans and helped negotiate an alliance between them all. They led the newly formed army against the forces of the corporation. They battled for half of the year and at the last battle of Kashyyyk they were surrounded by hordes of enemy troops. The ’s had reinforcements flying their way in but it was too late. Kil Gorn’s apprentice was killed in battle defending his people. With this last battle the Republic decided to send in a military force to end the conflict. Kil Gorn returned home.
Upon returning he spoke to the council, his words were wise.
“It was the will of the force, he wanted to die with his people. The force granted his wish.” His toneless metallic voice spoke deeply and enchantingly. The Council agreed and started to watch Kil closely. Kil Gorn remained in the temple for several years. Exploring the library and teaching youngling classes. He enjoyed mass instruction much more than an apprentice. He didn’t like attachment he felt that it without it He could become closer to the force. Now at age 38 he had become at one with his teachings and the force.
Revenge
Kil Gorn had become sixty, a master and he had joined the council. He didn’t want to become grand master even though offered to him. For the last 30 years Kil Gorn had mostly remained at the temple. Teaching and studying, whenever the council needed him. He journeyed the galaxy regularly but kept to himself during his travels. He used this time to watch and learn. He noticed the people of the galaxy had remained mostly the same over the years. Only one thing had begun to change and that was the worry. The people were afraid more often than before. Of what, Kil was unsure. The rumors of a new group against the Republic were whispered but Kil didn’t take much notice. He went on several diplomatic missions for the council and the senate. He was one of the most trusted Jedi in the galaxy in these meetings. Speaking little but always to the point, and willing to negotiate. He meditated regularly and saw many visions but they had grown clouded over the last ten years.
He had felt a tremor in the force. A great disturbance was growing. The Other Council members felt nothing and this only upset Kil Gorn more. Jake had grown very old and was weak not only in body but in the force. This worried Kil Gorn, his only friend was becoming one with the force.
One Day Jake and Kil Gorn were walking through the temple not saying much. Jake finally turned to Kil and thanked him. Kil didn’t understand but his old master didn’t answer him. He leaned on his cane and observed the temple in silent consideration then turned to Kil and asked him to observe the temple. He did and asked his master after several minutes why? Jake laughed and explained that the beacon that the temple had once again become was largely part of his influence.
At first he didn’t understand but then it became clear. The younglings Kil had been teaching were now a generation of Knights. The galaxy had become peaceful again these new Jedi were wise and strong in the force. They were calm and cared only of others. Jake smiled and looked to his old friend, “The force has guided us…and to the end.” Kil turned to his master in surprise and followed him as they walked outside the temple and into the sun. They watched the city and the sun’s setting together. That night Jake died in his sleep.
Kil looked into the flames of his master’s burning body and focused deeply on the force. He felt alone and sought its comfort but found little. The tremor remained and grew stronger. He could almost see the cause of it but it had grown clouded. Kil announced he was going to leave again. The Council understood but advised him to be glad for that Jake had joined the force. Kil Gorn journeyed to Kashyyyk, it had started to thrive after all the help Kil had offered. They helped the pain of his friend’s passing but the tremor remained.
The next day he awoke to screams and fire. He ran outside and found their whole city was in flame. A small band of mercenaries were attacking the village. A Dark Jedi approached him. He held a double bladed lightsaber. He ignited their blades. Kil Gorn was angry but he kept his calm, “What is the meaning of this!” He didn’t answer and just approached. Kil Gorn looked down towards the river nearby the city. He lifted his hands towards it and pulled the water threw it over the city quenching most of the fires. He then turned to the Dark Jedi, he were almost upon him now their lightsabers hissing from the water. He pulled out his own blade and their blades met. The Dark Jedi attacked Kil Gorn was no match for this one’s skill in the blade. He quickly ducked and cut on of the dark Jedi’s leg off.
The dark Jedi listened and told him that he had been sent here by his master on Utapau. He ordered the dark Jedi to return to the light for it called to them. He then looked to the dark Jedi on the ground and asked him to do the same leaving them to their fates. He felt that his presence there was a danger to his friends and quickly left. He made his way to Utapau he had pinpointed the source of the darkness. He rode a transport into the city and found a Varactyl. He rode it toward the source. A heavy storm started as he approached and found s small sinkhole far in the wilderness. He dismounted from his creature and entered the cave. Inside the presence of the Dark side was strong. Little light entered the cave even with the large shaft leading to the surface. Before the dark art of the window was a kneeled hooded figure. It spoke without looking to Kil Gorn,
“I have called for you for years.” It then stood to its full height, “Are the Jedi that blind?” The Dark Jedi turned around revealing his extremely bright orange eyes and his scarred face. Even in the dark Kil Gorn could see that it was the man he faced on Korriban,
“I am ready Jedi.” He said as his blade slipped down his arm beam towards the ground. Kil Gorn drew his blade, removing his wet cloak at the same time and pushed the dark Jedi back. The Dark Jedi raised a hand and laughed blocking even Kil Gorn’s massive attack. Their blades then met sending sparks everywhere. Kil Gorn quickly discovered that this Dark Jedi was a master of the blade. His power with the force also seemed to be extremely strong.
This was a twisted beast with only one desire: revenge. Kil Gorn jumped back and pushed out with the force with all his power and pushed the Dark Jedi through the shaft. Rocks collapsed over the Dark Jedi and he stopped moving. Kil sighed regaining his strength the Dark Jedi returned attacking with force Lightening. They fought back and forth for ten minutes until both were tired from the long battle. They then resorted to the force. Kil Gorn grabbed the rocks off the walls around them and flung them at the Dark Jedi. He jumped away or blocked them with his own rocks. Then the Dark Jedi blasted a storm of force lightning at Kil Gorn. He held onto his lightsaber firmly prepared for the attack.
The two moved closer and closer to each other the storm growing more violent and deadly. Kil Gorn pushed several last times before the dark Jedi stopped and raised his blade in the air and sliced down at Kil Gorn. He jumped out of the way and pushed him back with the force. This evil place needed to be put to rest along with its master. Kil Gorn raised his lightsaber. The entire cave shook as Kil Gorn pulled. The Dark Master pushed all the rocks off of him and charged at Kil Gorn blindly. They then both were buried in the avalanche of rocks.
The howling of the varactyl awoke Kil Gorn. It called like a lonely lover across the sky. Covered in rocks and in deep pain Kil Gorn awaited joining the force. He then heard rocks moving and looked up seeing light. The Varactyl lifted the rocks above him and pulled him out. He helped him onto his back and yelled out in victory. He then took him back to the capital and Kil Gorn left back for the Jedi Council after recovering. He explained what had happened to the council and they apologized for doubting his feeling. The tremor had been silenced. This eased Kil Gorn significantly.
The Teacher, the Scholar and the Master
For the next one hundred years Kil Gorn mostly stayed in the temple teaching and studying, taking occasional trips throughout the galaxy as he had in the past. He visited Kashyyyk every time he did go on these journeys. Also on theses trips he gained much knowledge on the way of the galaxy and of the force. He watched as some of he students aged and died of old age and battle. He was never accustomed to death and tired to not get connected with anyone even council members. He trained with a lightsaber more and mastered several forms just to become more balanced in all things. He returned to Korriban one last time and explored the tombs of the Sith Lords. When asked why he did after all this time he didn’t really answer. The other Council members deeply respected Kil and rarely questioned the little he did say. He was one with the force and they respected him deeply for it. Kil never betrayed the force or himself. He stayed on the council but never became Grand Master. He still didn’t want that role and he may never want it. He remains there in the temple today and will stay there until someone calls for his assistance.

RP Sample: Kil Gorn awoke in his pressurized room silently. He breathed in the arfical air of his homeworld deeply. He then moved to his closet and dressed. He placed the breathing mask on his face and his goggles. His vision attuned to the outside world as he left his room. The Knights bowed as he walked by and he made his way to the Council chamber. On his way a youngling in his class stopped him,
“Master Gorn.” Kil Gorn turned down to him and knelled down looking near eye level at the Youngling,
“Yes?”
“When is our next lesson.” Kil Gorn laughed so young and eager to learn much like himself at their age,
“Tomorrow.” the boy looked disappointed and Kil laughed and reassured him,
“It will be here sooner than you think, run along youngling.”
The youngling left the master to his business and Kil started back on his way to the center Spire of the temple. As he entered the council chamber and found his seat a master and apprentice entered. The Grand master asked what their business was,
“We request to investigate a group of traders on Mygetto who have gone missing.”
“Why?” Kil asked through the force. The Jedi turned to him and the apprentice looked puzzled. Kil spoke aloud, “I don’t see the point, but if the force has guided you to them. Let it guide you further.” The other council members agreed and allowed them to go. Kil left the chambers early that day and went to the library.
He went into deep study about the Master’s of old. He felt a disturbance in the force but couldn’t place what it was. He had been feeling more and more as time gone on. He knew a storm was coming and he wanted to be ready. He was he thought but the younger Jedi? the new knights? No they wouldn’t be able to last this storm. To often the young perish or turn while the old rot. Kil Gorn wouldn’t allow that to happen, being prepared himself should show the others his example. He left the library and into the instruction area. An older class of younglings awaited,
“Younglings, today we will meditate.” they all sighed frustrated but Kil was in no mood, “Quiet! Your young bickering must be silenced.” He could hear their thoughts turn from frustration to fear he lowered his voice instantly, “But do not fear, we shall still practice with our blades…and our minds.” The kids instantly rejoiced quietly this warmed Kil’s heart and he started his instruction,
“Clear your mind of every distraction.” He joined them in the exercise doing as he told them, “Focus on the force, find your inner peace.” The younglings minds were calm and this impressed Kil. They kept their focus well, “Now…allow your mind to drift in the force.” Their minds wondered, “Sail through the galaxy, don’t look for anything…just drift.” the younglings had never done this exercise but took followed his instructions well. Kil then allowed them to quit,
“I shall teach you another day, another master will join you shortly for lightsaber instruction.” They all said their farewells and seemed to be at peace with themselves and the force. This made Kil feel hope in his heart…but he didn’t allow it to stay long.
