Me, Moi, I know, I'm totally a Narcissist, But hey, If I didn't like me, no one would.
Recently, Multiple times, the fact that I'm Bluntly Opinionated, that when I say something I don't wrap it in delicate niceties, seems to have angered several people. I'm not going to apologize for it. It's who I am, and no one should have to apologize for being themselves.
But this leads me to think about things, about the internet in general and this Forum in a more specific context. I've stayed here for a Pretty good while, watched as changes were made that I sometimes liked and sometimes disliked.
When I first joined, I submitted a Character that I rather liked, I worked with the moderation and Administration staff to make it work. I had read all of the rule threads and the Main Plotline thread. I asked for opinions and Made sure that I'd be allowed my character race before posting it, and when told that I'd need a good reason I provided it.

If you are easily offended by the truth, Skip the next paragraph or so. Actually, you probably shouldn't read this at all, don't want anyone offended.
Now, when I see new members joining, making their first characters, instead of the process being a fun one, it's one marred by either inattentiveness and disregard for the posted requirements. So many issues in the profiles that I've looked over could have been solved by looking at the Moderator's posts of assistance. Instead, rather, it seems that the Newer Crop of Members would rather make character creation a tedious process that one must slog through.
Back when I was joining and making my characters, People without the Red or Green names didn't post any disclaimers, they didn't say "You don't have to listen, but I say this" They said it. It feels to me like that's just a way of hiding behind your words, hiding from the chance that even if you hadn't said it that Character creator might not be interested in what you have to say.
I mean, I don't see any reason for someone ignore good advice, but it happens. And truthfully? I saw people start to do that after the first NGT promotions happened. Do you know what it looked like to me? A Bunch of puppies fighting for a Good nipple on the mother. Suddenly a whole bunch of people start being helpful, with a nifty disclaimer. Not saying that these people are wrong for Wanting to help the mod staff out, but if you want to try and be helpful to someone making a character, Don't hide behind a phrase, Tell them what you think, your opinion's all you have and Frankly, saying that, you're letting it become trash.
Onward and Upward. To help with the reading process, and to make this thread less boring, which I'm sure about half of you are merely SKIMMING (got your attention there, didn't I?) Have a link!

) Skimming is a Half-issue here. Rather then reading posts fully, skimming is where one just looks over it, attempting to get the general gist of things, however when that's done in a Roleplay, that causes important things to be missed. I'm not targeting one person, I'm not trying to single out anyone, I've Skimmed, but after that, I always go back and re-read the post while I'm typing my post up, just to ensure that the details are correct. Am I perfect? No, are any of you? No. Not even our Lordly Admins can be expected to read everything perfectly, especially when it's a Massive Character sheet. But the issue with the whole skimming thing is CONTENT. If you're Posting a reply to something, you have to have comprehended what was contained within the post(s) before yours.
Moving onward and upward, Music is fun! But that's aside the point. Truth is, this is the internet, on a much lower level, this is a Fantasy, Sci-fi based Roleplay board, it's not Hugely important. I do like coming here, I love it, usually, But it's not the Center of my life. It's supposed to be a Way for me to relax during the week without reverting to Alcoholism. When something makes me this stressed that I have to type out something this big in order to relieve the stress, something might be wrong.
That said, some of the issues fought over here are petty as can be. Most of the things I get Riled up about, for example. I need to take this advice more then most, but seriously.

Moderators, this is to you. I love you, I love all the work that you do for the board, Your posts are more often then not, amazing. What gets to me is how SERIOUSLY you've started to take things. Does it matter if Two People who are Human, save for some Genetic Evolution, make whoopie and have babies? With the exception of some stronger Genes in their Base pairs, they're the same! Yet for nearly a week that was debated hotly.
I'm just rambling at this point, and If I try to continue, I'll likely say something else to get me into trouble, which I really don't want.
I love this forum, I adore our Modly overlords and the work that they do. NGT, While I don't hold the same amount of Respect for all of you, I admire the fact that you're willing to Submit yourself to stress in the future, dealing with Idiots like me and Bad character sheets that seem to pop up occasionally.
I have nothing against people in general, it's just some of the Changes in Attitude and views that this board is going through that worries me. I don't want to leave, but it's starting to look more and more like an option.
